We need to start searching within our ranks for individuals who stand with us to run for office. We need to find congressional candidates and a presidential candidate we can back.

Why wait for elections. We demand change now. Anyone in Congress who votes nay will pay the price later in the elections.

This is a rather anonymous SONG-CHANT-RANT offering, that will hopefully unify our message on the streets. Imparting some basic historical information that has lead to the continued debasing of free forms of Government. Where a select group of power seekers never seem to have enough of anything, including us.This is a very serious time for the FREE Global Community, our only weapon is Martin Luther King's legacy. They further try to discredit us with accusations of not having a coherent message when their only endgame is to further in-slave us! Abusing others until there is only two classes the Haves and Have-Not's. we’ just not gonna’ take it no more we’ just not gonna’ take it no more we’ just not gonna’ take it no more

I respectfully disagree. To whit: The vast majority of the American pubic is not behind us...yet. It is ill-advised to enter into an uphill fight in a flawed political system before that is so. It is equally unwise to be formulating demands. Each new demand is an opportunity for a potential ally to dismiss us as not representing their perceived interest. The only thing that the 99% will be able to unify behind during this period of distortion and misrepresentation is the belief that, in this country, people have the right to peacefully assemble and speak their minds. This is the totality of what should be done. This act alone is intolerable to the 1% and their functionaries. It is more than enough to create the violent repression that will bring new individuals into the movement. Civil disobedience beyond this simple scope is premature. This is a long fight, breaking the law and inconveniencing the 99% will not create empathy. Disobedience should only be exercised to the extent necessary to defent our right to freedom of assembly.

You can't win when the deck is stacked against you. The elections are rigged!! The only answer is to hit the reset button.

I'm not saying wait for elections, April, merely that we need to prepare for the election so that any changes we cause between now and then will be secured

http://occupywallst.org/forum/a-union-of-all-dissatisfied-peoples-ows-and-even-t/ i think we should begin finding candidates as well. this is my idea so far

Our collective voice can elect ANYONE. If this movement continues and has no political aspirations then it is POINTLESS

I've been trying to offer my candidacy and platform to OWS - posting on this forum, Facebook, etc. No communication yet. Of course there is no OWS organization as of yet.

Should voters have the opportunity to VOTE on a revolution? http://www.JeffBlock2012.com

Elections that are funded and controlled by the very people Occupy Wall Street is fighting. Great idea.

[-] 1 points by hisdudenessirish (3) from Concord, NC 12 years ago

But we cannot expect to break the system without putting people from this movement in office. To believe otherwise is idiocy

[-] 1 points by butterflyprincess37 (45) from Fort Collins, CO 12 years ago

the problem is not everyone who supports OWS agrees with using statist tactics. voting is controlled by the media and corporations like Diebold.

absolutely agreed, we need to form a third party.

this has been mentioned in other threads. plus the organizational stuff is the same...
