I know Dr. King was a proponent of economic justice...& of course non-violence. So please respectfully counter point with the media because they (e.g. nbc, foxnews etc) are "elucidating" YOU for you. They are getting ugly with the language & the portrait of you, but as a 'middle America' folk, I believe you can "restructure the edifice" as Dr. King said. You need spokepeople & K.I.S.S. mission statement.
"MLK Day Special: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in His Own Words"
As ... "Today is the federal holiday that honors Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. He was born January 15, 1929. He was assassinated April 4, 1968, at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee. He was just 39 years old. While Dr. King is primarily remembered as a civil rights leader, he also championed the cause of the poor and organized the "Poor People’s Campaign" - to address issues of economic justice. Dr. King was also a fierce critic of U.S.A's foreign policy and the Vietnam War. We play his “Beyond Vietnam” speech, which he delivered at New York City’s Riverside Church on April 4, 1967 as well as his last speech, “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop,” that he gave on April 3, 1968, the night before he was assassinated."
respice, adspice, prospice et spero meliora ...
This is an imperative. You have got to get a vision statement and create some form of a charter/manifesto or you risk losing voters and participation. JFK said "Efforts and courage are not enough without purpose and direction". We will help, but please do this soon.
need a wiki and sub forums to handle the work load.
