Capitalism, Ladies and Gentlemen, is the reflection of Societies will. The Invisible Hand of the Freemarket, where the will of the market is influenced by everyone.
Corporatism, is the ATTEMPT, to bend the Hand away from a more disseminated market place. These attempts have greatly accounted for the subsidy of many sectors of the markets that are trying to bend the Invisible Hand! This must be clear to most, Ladies and Gentlemen, WHY in a country that prides itself on liberty and the free market system, like that theres only 2 car companies from this country... how about banks... how many are left, remember Washington Mutual, Bank One, and all the other banks that were absorbed...
My two cents on what true Capitalism means(to me anyway).

capitalism has never existed. corporate oligarchy or some kind of smoke and mirrors feudalism is all thats ever existed.
capitalism is merely the game that they play in the rigged corporate oligarchy casino. "The invisible hand" there is no such thing, thats just the "god" of economics proving that capitalist economics is a religion, not a science.

I would contest The Invisible Hand does exist and that it's simply not in our control as it used to be, i.e, Corporatism.
My friend, we mustn't attack Capitalism, it HAS provided excellent ideas, Private Property being the main. But I think that if we confuse the bad parts of capitalism with just capitalism itself, we stumble into unreasonable territory.
look, capitalism hasn't done anything for us but be the carrot to dupe the masses with. Private property is hardly the idea of capitalism. Thats frankly weird you would say that. private property started way back in tribes before even feudalism.
there is no capitalism. We can't be respectful to a golden gilded carrot on the end of a stick keeping us driving forward as slaves that silly. we owe capitalism nothing.
Corporate oligarchy is the system of government we actually have. democracy is the system of government we want. capitalism is a different form of oligarchy but its still oligarchy so thats out of the question. But a free market system inside of democracy is an absolute must have.

According to a 2008 article by David Rothkopf, the world’s 1,100 richest people have almost twice the assets of the poorest 2.5 billion (Rothkopf, 2008). Aside from the obvious problem – that this global elite has their hands in everything from politics to financial institutions – …

To the extent that we, the people, are removed from control over our lands, marketplaces, central banks, and media we are no longer empowered. In practice, those few who do control the land, central bank, media and "free market" are the real rulers of our corrupt and declining "democracy."
Due to propaganda from a corporate-owned and edited media we are kept from knowing, much less debating, the nature of our system. Due to a central bank owned by bankers, media owned by a few global concerns, and trade regime controlled by global corporations (i.e., one designed to remove the people from control over their markets and environments) the vast majority have become little more than latter-day serfs and neo-slaves upon a corporate latifundia.
To restore a semblance of effective democracy and true freedom Americans, and people around the world, need to re-educate themselves as to the true nature of their political and economic systems. Toward this end, OligarchyUSA.com is dedicated to providing old and new information, books, links, reform ideas and debates not easily found or accessed today in establishment media.
OligarchyUSA.com is but one more site and sign of the times as ground-up counter-revolutions arise around the world... all in response to a forced and freedomless globalization courtesy of a ruling global elite perfecting their top-down plutocracy and revolutions of the rich against the poor. In short, democracy is no longer effective today. For this reason, it is toward a restoration of truly effective and representative democracies, and natural freedom, that this site is dedicated.
he's a troll
lol naw dawg naw, why you mad though?
But seriously, Not a troll, honestly trying to.. contribute.. ;)
not you, lance, the guy above you, gawdoftruth, he just posts the same links, and says "no" to whatever someone else posts, it seems,
oh... well thank you... he responded to another thing above, seemed a bit... Ayn Rand for my taste...
yes, capitalism is not corporatism, corporatism is a perverted form of capitalism, it's what happens when you take capitalism and sh** on it
The latter is a naturally occurring byproduct of the former. This is not to say capitalism in terms of a theory is a failure or success anymore than socialism. However as with all ideologies, philosophies or systems in general, when applied in an orthodox fashion, they limit the available options a society can adopt to either prevent or address problems.
I disagree, since we do have a mixed market system i think there has been on both sides of it, good and bad, I believe that we must root out the bad economics and bad capitalism, socialism, and simple policy.
You don't think that the failures are more a matter of institutional corruption by the forces "trying to force the markets hand?"
OH I WOULD AGREE TOTALLY!
What i meant to say: I believe that we should have dynamic economic theory, that is to say that we should be constantly checking and rechecking systems to make sure they work and if not fix them with theoretical precedent, or create something totally new, I was specifically comment on the last section about "limited options" sorry about the confusion should've been more specific
Oh, no worries then. What I was saying is that orthodox approaches limit options.
Oh agreed! Indeed! We must create the next generation of new innovative and more scientific approaching to economic theory, one that doesn't just mitigate the problem of scarcity, but means to SOLVE it.
In the meantime, I have suggested the following for the movement. http://occupywallst.org/forum/the-central-message-we-need/
There are two types of Capitalism
The first involves creating and using Capital to benefit Society
The second involves Capitalizing on everyone else's suffering, misery and misfortunes
'Mom and Pop' stores and independent restaurants/cafes represent the first type of Capitalism
Wall Street mainly represents the second type of Capitalism
amen
The main objective of a company is profits. Even mom and pop stores are in business for the money. Let's not pretend otherwise.
When we have enough money we can do what will benefit the society.
Let's not mix up the means of making money with how well it can be used.
Of course it doesn't mean companies can make profits by harming others.
There is a reasonable limit.
The main objective of a company is to provide a service that is of value to a Society. Do that and the profits will follow
The main objective of Organized Crime is to make money ......
It is not. It would be nice if it were but thats not the state of things. A company's responsibility to its share holders is to increase their value. Why did people trade in the old days? To make profit. When those profits come by unfair means it is a crime.
I disagree, I believe sir that this is very dangerous thinking, lest we forget, Corporations have a LEGAL obligation to make money, this is only the obvious REASON that the above does take place. The LABEL that is a Corporation is something less than human shall we say. I have never believed that Corporations were some kind of Evil Sociopathic Machine, although precedents matter too, but simply people following people... people are fallible, because of this I would contest that the solutions would entail components of corporations check and balancing themselves...
Amen!
