Forum Post: If a leader for this movement, READ THIS!

If there are any leaders out there, KNOW THIS! The Dems just announced their full support. The overall project is being usurped by politics again...declare yourselves free from political party and organized unions and political entities like moveon.org. if you don't do that, you become another tool for them and lose your own message. Reject the organizations who have been just as corrupt as those you fight against!

Like I said before, the career politicians may give our grievances and goals lip service... but nothing will change... Democrats and Republicans are two sides of the same corporate coin...

What America needs is a TRUE INDEPENDENT PRESIDENT who will ride into Washington, clean up this mess and make the Corporate Congress obey the mandate of the people in the next election...

Obama's first mistake... reinstalling all the usual political players in his cabinet before taking office...

DON'T BE CRAZY! Everyone Democrat, Republican, Unions, Business Leaders should be welcome. No man is an island. It will take a lot of muscle to create political and economic change.

Welcome Politcal Leaders from across the Board but DEMAND THEY PUBLICLY DECLARE WHAT THEIR SUPPORT ENTAILS AND THEY MUST BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE.

I don't believe there is a leader of this movement, or a mod, or anything here...maybe they're all in school now?

Do not let any individuals, organizations, ideologies or philosophies take control of this. Neither Krugman, nor Paul, nor Mary Kay Henry, nor Grover Norquist must be allowed to attain leadership status.

Any singular leader becomes a target for talented and professional detractors seeking to secure the future of the corporate state and the stratified class system evolving in this country presently. It must remain a general populist movement with a central demand.

You say you'll change the constitution Well, you know We all want to change your head You tell me it's the institution Well, you know You better free you mind instead But if you go carrying pictures of chairman Mao You ain't going to make it with anyone anyhow Don't you know it's gonna be all right

[-] 1 points by gawdoftruth (3698) from Santa Barbara, CA 13 years ago

not into chairman mao. not interested in replaying old beatles tunes.

we do need a modern constitution the old ones been distorted and blanked out by years of republican laws and abuse and distortions.

even the dems are using our old documents to wipe the oligarchies ass with.

we need modern and evolved documents that a can't be distorted.

[-] 1 points by dvs (9) 13 years ago

No, we don't need a new constitution, we need to enforce it by not allowing congress or government agencies to create regulations that usurp the constitution. We can fix the broke by doing away with ALL campaign funds and money including lobbyists. Candidates can get the press and be allocated a certain amount of time on NPR/PBS NO commercials, no contributions from ANYONE.

[-] 1 points by gawdoftruth (3698) from Santa Barbara, CA 13 years ago

okay, i'm not attached. you think it can be fixed lets see it get fixed. I don't think it can be fixed without starting over, but i don't see any reason why when you and i seem to agree on most things we should argue about it.

in either case whats needed is a serious organizational effort to explore these things open source direct democracy and using science centered problem solving process.
