Now, ''A tale of two killings: what happened when Idaho police shot a dog and a pregnant woman in one day'' - http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/apr/03/idaho-police-shootings-jeanetta-riley-justice-for-arfee -I defy anyone to read that without feeling that there is something very wrong with US mental heath provision, easy-gun-pulling militarized cops (ex-military?) and what it says when we value animals above humans? Good video and 'Anonymous' is featured in the article too! RIP Jeanetta Riley, oh and (B)Arfee too! Have they got their ''Own Private Idaho'' up there or something? But your video, suggests otherwise!

[-] 7 points by beautifulworld (22757) 2 years ago

Capitalism has created such competition amongst us that we fear one another and it is easier to love our dogs rather than our fellow humans. It is truly sad. I feel for the dog, but I feel much more for Jeanetta Riley.

And, the conquering, colonising and movement of native peoples onto small swaths of their native lands has obviously left a legacy that is not very healthy for them. This is true the world round. It's all shameful, really.

Wait for the blind defence of Police to start from racist s-o-b's on Twitter, after the USA's latest... sick murder! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21T2F5WFPAw and - Black Lives Matter!

RIP Walter Scott :-( Your Murder By Police comes after Anthony Ray Hinton's Miscarriage Of Justice and so please also consider... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-32200813

"If there wasn't a video, would we know the truth?" asked Anthony Scott, brother of Walter Scott [RIP] and by the way... The Original Police Story, given to the media, Was A Total Fkn Lie!

[-] 7 points by beautifulworld (22757) 2 years ago

And, Eric Harris, RIP:

http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/238566-video-shows-eric-harris-shooting-in-okla

And, Mario Valencia, alive, but hit purposefully by a cop car:

http://www.cnn.com/2015/04/14/us/arizona-police-run-over-suspect/#

Silly me, I always thought people were innocent until proven guilty and that they had a right to a fair trial. Kind of like the United States' drone attacks abroad where we just kill people, even innocent children, just because we say we are afraid.

This whole business of justifying the elimination of fairness and justice through the ruse of FEAR must end now.

[-] 5 points by lugano (1221) 2 years ago

As if a dying man's last word's of ''I'm losing my breath'' after being shot at near point blank range - were not bad enough, the very last words that Cop-Murdered, Eric Harris heard as his life ebbed away, with a cop's knee pressing on his head and neck, were - ''F*ck Your breath''! Unbelievable... without that video!

Furthermore, Eric Harris was killed ''in error'' by a 73 year old, insurance brokerage owner, who was a donor to Sheriff's Dept., before becoming a ''Volunteer Reservist'' - in other words.. by a 'Pay-To-Play-Part-timer'! How long and where else in the US - has this been going on and just wtf is that all about?

http://edition.cnn.com/2015/04/13/us/tulsa-shooting-robert-bates-volunteer-deputy/

http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/apr/17/oakley-michigan-pay-to-play-police

http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/apr/13/tulsa-police-shooting-eric-harris-district-attorney-weighs-charges

Running over people; shooting them in the back; beating while already apprehended; fabricating details, evidence and reports; the racism + homicidal attitude to some categories of suspects: it all has to stop!

[-] 6 points by beautifulworld (22757) 2 years ago

And now, Freddie Gray, RIP, the man whose neck was broken while in police custody and who died 7 days later.

The anger at the protests in Baltimore tonight is palpable through my t.v. set. I wish I had an answer on how to end all of this, but I think it's a complete ethos change that America needs toward one of less materialism and competition and fear and towards more spirituality, acceptance and love.

[-] 6 points by lugano (1221) 2 years ago

Sadly Freddie Gray (RIP) wasn't the only PD-Paralyzed person, as this video shows -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_SSGa7-6BQ and also read this follow up item...

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/rev-jeff-hood/the-lynching-of-sureshbha_b_6675652.html

I think that it's now very probable - that too many cops are ex-military or have been over-militarized and especially see people of colour as somehow the ''enemy''. I wonder how many US cops are themselves possible military PTSD victims and IF they could talk about it truthfully. The mind boggles to be honest.

"The assault of Sureshbhai Patel occurred on February 6, 2015. Patel, a 57-year-old Indian national who was visiting his son in Madison, Alabama, U.S., was seriously injured after being detained by multiple police officers in a residential neighborhood. Patel had police called on him for alleged suspicious behavior in the neighborhood and did not know how to speak English. There is video footage of the officer slamming Patel to the ground. He had to be hospitalized and is partially paralyzed as a result of the injuries. The incident led to many accusations by citizens of police brutality and prompted a response from the Indian government. The incident was recorded on film by two police car dashboard cameras."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sureshbhai_Patel

https://www.google.com/search?q=Sureshbhai+Patel&biw=1366&bih=610&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=eX45VeqgFcTWsAXu7YGIAw&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAg

I remember this case. Disgusting. How absolutely embarrassing for America. And, how friggin' ignorant are we as a people 1. for having such idiotic, intolerant, uneducated, insular people for cops and 2. for allowing this kind of thing to keep happening over and over and over.

[-] 3 points by lugano (1221) 2 years ago

''Ex-cop who paralyzed Indian grandfather pleads not guilty'' ... http://rt.com/usa/252125-cop-indian-paralyze-trial/ and for how it was reported in India - http://www.indiawest.com/news/global_indian/ex-officer-pleads-not-guilty-in-confrontation-with-sureshbhai-patel/article_f6b86b26-e93a-11e4-8d4a-4b399c78fda0.html - So the question arises how and when did the psycho-cop, become ''ex-cop''?!

[-] 6 points by beautifulworld (22757) 2 years ago

Right, they don't mention how he became an EX-cop, but let's be glad he did, at a minimum.

This shines a light also on how America treats human beings as a whole. No health insurance because here in America treatment of health is not a service, like it is in the UK, it's an insured thing here. You have to have "insurance" and you better have money to pay for it because most jobs don't offer it anymore and Obamacare is not cheap!

Of course Mr. Patel did not have "insurance." He was a freaking visitor! Thank god for good and generous people who crowd funded his care. But, why is it that we don't care for the health of our citizens or visitors? Aren't the nations' citizens it's very greatest asset? Don't we want people to come and visit?

I often wonder what is so great about this country where we beat people to a pulp for not speaking English and for walking down the street in an "affluent" neighborhood (probably a lot of rich wannabees, conservative types live there). OMG, a man who doesn't look like me is walking down the street! Quick, call the cops! Ignorant idiots!!!

How do we look the world in the face with this kind of behavior. We point the finger in accusation of human rights at other nations all the time, yet here we are, creating absolute shame for ourselves.

''Black Man vs. White Man Carrying AR-15 Legally''

Video - http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article41889.htm

What happens when a white guy walks down the street with a AR-15 versus what also happens when a black guy walks down the street with same gun and same laws. Thanks for your interesting links. I am not sure how long we'll all be able to share such information on this forum but we persevere for The 99% as best we can in the face of The Totalitarian Tinpot Tyranny, that is now prevailing here at the moment.

[-] 2 points by mdonelly (324) from Mineola, NY 2 years ago

Replying here. The two tier justice system extends a lot further than race. As we both know the criminal elite have kept their jobs after having caused a huge amount of suffering to people all over the World, and they often get bonuses too. This is happening, simultaneously while we sentence people, young people in particular... to spend years in prison for a crime, that caused far less hurt, often none besides themselves hence no other victim.

Especially considering the fact that John Angelos is a 1 per center, it makes his thoughtful statement on the unrest in Baltimore that much more poignant. On another note, I remember living (3 months) in Baltimore years ago. You could always tell when McCormick ran cinnamon. For blocks you could smell that neat spice. And in contrast... on the other side of Baltimore from the up rising... going to an Oriole game at the old ball park (before Camden Yards) which I thought was beautiful park. And the elegant colonial homes nearby with well manicured lawns and forsithia bushes in bloom all over the place. Luckily there was one place, near the Peabody Conservatory of Music (part of John Hopkins) that served people beer if you were close to 21! I was close enough for them! That's where National Bohemian (Natty Bo) was thrust upon me. I was a willing participant though. ;)

I guess my point is the contrasts in that city are stark and that difference can be seen in New York state too, and in particular the Hudson River Valley, which Angelos mentions. Many of those towns were once thriving communities. Now the feeling of desperation is palpable... businesses boarded up, homes run down as the oligarchs have sent the good jobs overseas, always chasing the lowest cost of production, and people be damned.

[-] 1 points by grapes (4964) 2 years ago

No. The media coverage is far more widespread. Some still blame our mulatto President (yeah, right?) but it has long been simmering. When does it boil over? From time to time and it is anyone's guess.

Rodney King's beating was decades ago sparking LA riots. It was sparked by a video, too. The widespread availability of camera and video smartphones just captured the images of far more incidents. Social media also contribute much to the spread of the knowledge of police aggression.

I have an unorthodox interpretation of why the goddess of justice was blindfolded: to prevent her from watching the awful videos, surely shocking to a lady.

[-] 2 points by MattHolck0 (3867) 2 years ago

Another probability is that the banksters want to stick their sausage fingers on their side of the balance without the blindfolded lady seeing them when being weighed for justice.

This ex-cop really needs to go to prison.

[-] 5 points by lugano (1221) 2 years ago

Up to six Police Officers seem to have something to do with Freddie Gray's arrest and extreme spinal injury, from which he died a week later.I'm not too sure that any of them will even lose their jobs or be reprimanded - never mind ''go to prison''. The Private Prison Industrial Complex in USA (~5% of World Population BUT 25%+ of the Global Prison Population)... prefers a certain demographic to profit from!

[-] 4 points by mdonelly (324) from Mineola, NY 2 years ago

You're right. Just losing your job, if that psycho behavior is what he lost it for...is not near the punishment that he deserves.

[-] 6 points by beautifulworld (22757) 2 years ago

Exactly, and the euro-centric nature of our society prevails. Anyone who looks different, no matter how many centuries their ancestors have lived here, is at risk, because violent, hate-filled, ignorant and intolerant white people rule in a way that is not all that much different than when Christopher Columbus made his way to "India" 500 years ago.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, we need a complete overhaul of our ethos in order to change this thing around. I may start praying...

Just imagine living in a World where your kids were afraid to go to school, or attend any of life's celebrations, because they feared a drone attack.

[-] 7 points by lugano (1221) 2 years ago

In fear of drones and death from the skies, children go to school in Pakistan, Yemen and.. more places than we are supposed to know... or care about. Perhaps none of us are ''free" until all of us are free and none of us are "safe"unless all of us are safe. TPTB rely on our mind managed ignorance and a created indifference to do their ugly work. Also http://www.thebureauinvestigates.com/category/projects/drones/

As ''terror'' is as terror does and is experienced... who are the "terrorists" and who the "terrorized" here? The "Terror Meme" is used to mind-manage us in The West but the stark and abject effects of terror are and have been used BY The West for a long time. The School of The Americas in Fort Benning, Georgia was the University Of Terror/Counter Revolutionary Insurgency for S.America.. for 2 or more generations.

[-] 5 points by mdonelly (324) from Mineola, NY 2 years ago

There is no doubt in my mind that the next generation of freedom fighters will be these kids who are now undergoing unimaginable horrors. Inevitably they will be hardened beyond their years. We will quickly label them, terrorists and the beat will go on. In our quest for hegemony, we need to keep people from thinking and understanding the term blowback.

If we were honest we would put ourselves (the US) on the State Sponsored Terrorism list.*

You're right we need a change of "ethos." We have become desensitized to human suffering. It's not all their fault though. It's ours's too.. for having bought into this system for so long. When I see people, young people in particular, who refuse to accept this as the norm, it's very heartening.

[-] 7 points by elf3 (3721) 2 years ago

Media promoted "tribalism" has got to go...human beings aren't sports teams and this is a far more dangerous game. When we pit "our" ethnicity against "yours"... its symptomatic of our disconnection to life...a disconnection from being and our true self nature...a disconnection from purpose. It is what we resort to when we are oppressed and desperate. Unity is the sign of authentic self and happiness born of purpose over material fluff or exerting control over others. We must not turn against each other but we must together grind this machine to a halt...our system is broken. Evil doesn't discriminate where it exists...it is a constant shifting of the soil...we can all fall into its trap if we aren't aware we are standing in it.

Thanx, I did - but this fkn guy .. ie. Killer Kop Feaster, The Over-Eater

Paradise, California Cop - Patrick Feaster did NOT accidentally shoot a DUI suspect - as the DA would have you believe! He pointed his gun & then pulled The Trigger Twice!! So, wTf is going here actually?!!! Look at the DA's statement of exoneration, to see proof of how Cops Can Get Away With Murder in US:

From which I could quote much but here's a doozey for you:''Also detailed in the report is the evidence from the frame-by-frame analysis of the video and the combined experience of the investigators, which indicates the officer did not intend to fire his pistol and was “surprised” by its discharge. This included the fact the discharge is seen occurring while the officer is in mid-stride; and that he flinches his head and does a “stutter-step” when the gun fires.Officers don't intentionally fire weapons in such a manner and additionally they are trained, as was this officer (from his training records over five years), to fire a minimum of two shots when they fire intentionally.'' Well Mr.Crooked DA - Feaster DID fire twice!!!

US cops trained in Israel------ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M05Nu4LBlnM

[-] 1 points by ImNotMe (1488) 1 year ago

''Why are American Cops trained in Apartheid Israel?'' - is a disturbing question that Americans won't know to ask because their B-S,MSM will never tell them to!!! The contents of that video should shock people!! IF they choose to view it that is & kudos to the lady there for her clear cogent reply! Also fyi:

Which ends with .. ''When a riot squad from the New York Police Department destroyed and evicted the “Occupy Wall Street” protest encampment at Zuccotti Park in downtown Manhattan (police) department leadership drew on the anti-terror tactics they had refined since the 9/11 attacks. According to the New York Times, the NYPD deployed “counterterrorism measures” to mobilize large numbers of cops for the lightning raid on Zuccotti. The use of anti-terror techniques to suppress a civilian protest complemented harsh police measures demonstrated across the country against - The Nationwide “Occupy” Movement, from firing tear gas canisters & rubber bullets into unarmed crowds - to blasting demonstrators with the LRAD sound cannon.''

Furthermore note: ''Given the amount of training NYPD and so many other police forces have received from Israel’s military-intelligence apparatus, and the profuse levels of gratitude American police chiefs have expressed to their Israeli mentors, it is worth asking how much Israeli instruction has influenced the way the police have attempted to suppress the Occupy movement, and also how much it'll inform police repression of future upsurges of street protest. But already - the Israelification of American law enforcement appears to have intensified police hostility towards the civilian population, blurring the lines between protesters, common criminals, and terrorists. As Dichter said, they are all just “crimiterrorists.”

“After 9/11 we had to react very quickly,” Greenberg remarked - “but now we are in 2011 and we are not talking about people who want to fly planes into buildings. We’re talking about young American citizens who feel that their birthright has been sold. If we’re using the Israeli style tactics on them, and this stuff bleeds into the way we do business at large, were in big trouble.” So how does this impact #BLM etc.?

''Obama, Master of Diversion, Proposes Bogus Reforms of Militarized Police'' by Glen Ford -

http://www.blackagendareport.com/obama-bogus-reform-on-militarized-police from which ...

''To sum up, President Obama’s attempt to focus public attention on police hardware, rather than the oppressive mission of the Black Mass Incarceration State, is both a diversion and a fraud. It is not a meaningful or honest response to the core demands of the Black Lives Matter movement, but instead seeks to change the subject to calibers of weapons, styles of police dress, and distinctions between tracked and wheeled armored vehicles. At the end of the exercise, both the equipment and the racist police mission remain in place.''

Senator Schumer who is considered a liberal Democrat is the biggest recipient of Wall Street money in the Senate. And the big banks are huge beneficiaries of War.

''Police Shootings Won't Stop Unless We Also Stop Shaking Down Black People - The dangers of turning police officers into revenue generators.'' by Jack Hitt:

http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2015/07/police-shootings-traffic-stops-excessive-fines

From which I excerpt ...

''(L)urking beneath this violence is a fiscal menace: police departments forced to assist city officials in raising revenue, in many cases funding their own salaries—redirecting the very concept of keeping the peace into underwriting the budget.

''We saw a glimpse of this when the Justice Department released its report on Ferguson in March. In his statement, then-Attorney General Eric Holder referenced a lady in town whose life sounded Walter Scott-like. She had received two parking tickets totaling $151. Her efforts to pay those fines fell so behind that she eventually paid out more than $500. At one point, she was jailed for nonpayment and—eight years later—still owes $541 in accrued fees.

''The judge largely responsible for the extraction of these fees from Ferguson's poor, Ronald J. Brockmeyer, owed $172,646 in back taxes, a sum orders of magnitude greater than any late fine coming before his bench. Even as he was jailing black ladies for parking tickets, Brockmeyer was allegedly erasing citations for white Ferguson residents who happened to be his friends. After the report's publication, he resigned so that Ferguson could "begin its healing process." {What a scumbag!}

''But consider: In 2010, this collaboration between the Ferguson police and the courts generated $1.4 million in income for the city. This year, they will more than double that amount—$3.1 million—providing nearly a quarter of the city's $13 million budget, almost all of it extracted from its poorest African American citizens.

''Evidence also suggests that this new form of raising revenue—policiteering?—goes far beyond Ferguson. Remember the recent Oklahoma case involving Robert Bates, a 73-year-old millionaire insurance broker with to go out on patrol—likely because he had donated lots of money and equipment to the local sheriff's office? He killed an unarmed black suspect [RiP: Eric Harris] when he grabbed his gun instead of his Taser. In the days that followed, we learned that other deputies had long resented this guy's freelance incompetence.

"Essentially, these small towns in urban areas have municipal infrastructure that can't be supported by the tax base, and so they ticket everything in sight to keep the town functioning," said William Maurer, a lawyer with the Institute for Justice who has been studying the sudden rise in "nontraffic-related fines."

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! Well worth reading the whole article - to be honest.

I had an interesting coversation with a retired army colonel earlier today. His basic point was that was the representatives in Washington shouldered the blame. My point was that you can NOT divorce yourself from the responsibility for all the deaths of innocent people for an ignoble pursuit. It got very testy between us especially when I told him that he was not in the army for me.. We both just walked away from each other.

20th track "(We really really really are not about Direct Democracy)"

As people could tell if only people paid attention to our activities

Lucky for us the people do not and so we can continue with our politi-speak = talking endlessly while saying "really" nothing at all - nothing of any value - see also: endlessly arguing circular "public self defeating" logic, tossing shit, spouting specious aspersions, trying to hide in the light, etc etc etc

Lucky thing that more people don't ask us why:

"Why don't you take over government for the people from within?"

"Seeing as you don't have a national party in place to successfully run your candidates in all 50 states - WHY don't you run your candidates as dems and reps?"

Well we would just have to say (and we do) that the people can't be successful that way. Better we say - if we all stay away - and just protest for government to get better.

We really do not want people to consider a possible winner by doing things like Bernie Sanders and run as a dem for a real chance to win - and have "more" people running on the issues where they can legitimately destroy their opponents in office or also running for office - by pointing out past voting records showing non support for the people - even showing active attacks on the people - or even calling on them to declare a public stance.

Gosh that would ruin our whole "public self defeating" circular do nothing opt out and just protest logic.

The dumbing down of police in the US, is no joke. So many cops seem to be hoping for an opportunity, to murder.

All part of the grand plan, of TPTB.

Thank you for posting this.

[-] 9 points by lugano (1221) 2 years ago

Walter Scott (RIP) had a broken tail light; had served his nation in The US Coast Guard + had 4 children and was trying to get by in little or no work, fuck all 'Trickle Down' (other than BS) but 'Wealth Hoovering Up'; pro-1%/anti-99% And Desperate Recession Hit Real USA - run by Oligarchs, Parasites + Bankers!

Further just because BS militarized, over armed and trigger happy racist cops - who would NEVER have shot a white man 8 fkn times in the back...are now effectively ARMED MUNICIPAL TAX COLLECTORS, giving out tickets as a Cash Collection Exercise for the cash strapped urban municipalities, then people like Mr.Scott are the victims of a system designed to crush the human spirit. It can NOT go on like this!

[-] 6 points by mdonelly (324) from Mineola, NY 2 years ago

Unfortunately Mr Scott's death, at the hands of police was not not an aberration, as most of us know. The whole corrupt system which has a well-known, infamous history of putting badges on psychopaths, or people who lust after power and control, and then lets them get away with murder needs to be indicted.

[-] 7 points by lugano (1221) 2 years ago

''Mr Scott's death, at the hands of police was not not an aberration'' is sadly far more true than we want to realise or to admit. Mike Brown in Missouri; Tamir Rice in Ohio; John Crawford in Ohio; Ezell Ford in California; Eric Garner in NY - the list is endless. This egregious police behaviour is not just confined to black people either and all US citizens need to consider just what's happening as they sleep walk on.

Police jobs on the front-line with the public: need to be graduate jobs, better paid, better trained, less militarized - more proactive, less reactive - more community based and less racist and paranoid... for everyone's sake. Unfit, donut munching, old, fat, trigger happy, corrupt, racist cops... just need to go!

The police are the "enforcement arm of the State," and as such, most garner huge salaries (as well as having very little real accountability), that are far higher than other public workers, even though others often have far better educations on the whole, namely teachers... The psychopathic behavior that many of them display is mostly overlooked because their compliance with the status quo, no matter how corrupt, is essential for the continuance of neoliberalism. The unaccountability that they have have enjoyed by their word being accepted as 'fact,' and by complicit, farcicle Grand Juries is now being challenged by people who catch their crimes on camera.

''U.S. police forces are so out of control there’s not even a reliable database on how many times police officers shoot citizens. So, beyond racism and fear of guns, the problem includes fragmentation in law enforcement and gaps in training among the 18,000 police agencies in the 50 states'' from:

''Why US Police Are Out of Control'' by Daniel Lazare: https://consortiumnews.com/2015/08/20/why-us-police-are-out-of-control/ From which I also excerpt ...

''America is clearly an outlier when it comes to police brutality. According to The Guardian’s highly useful “Counted” website [ http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/ng-interactive/2015/jun/01/the-counted-police-killings-us-database ], Where police in Stockton, California, killed three people in the first five months of 2015, police in Iceland, which has roughly the same population, have killed just one person since the modern Icelandic republic was founded in 1944.

''Where Britain’s police forces are firmly under the control of the Home Office while France’s are under the Ministry of the Interior, moreover, America’s are virtually autonomous. When the Justice Department sent out a survey on the use of force in 2013, the answers that came back were so jumbled as to be well nigh useless. Some departments sent back information on the use of guns, while others included reports about punches thrown and the use of non-lethal devices such as beanbag guns. Others, including such big-city departments as New York, Houston, Baltimore and Detroit, either did not know or refused to say.

''A country that doesn’t even know how many times police fire their weapons or under what circumstances is one in which every local department is a law unto itself, a self-contained barony with its own special rules and customs.

''What does a lack of knowledge have to do with ultra-high levels of brutality? The answer is simple: absence of knowledge means an absence of control, which means that local departments behave with relative impunity. If local cops seem out of control, it’s because the only controls come from local politicians who are often corrupt and racist and therefore tolerant of such behavior on the part of the officers they employ.''

This is a good and well thought out article on this crucial matter, & with many important embedded links (only one of which: ''The Counted'' have I included above) & I recommend this article to all readers. For an alternate link, with clearer font .... please see: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article42681.htm

Did you know that in many States although running a pedistrian over with a motor vehicle is a felony (vehicular homicide,) there is no law against running a bicylisit over with a motor vehicle? So, say for example if somebody's little kiddie who wanders out in the street gets hit, big trouble, but say if the the same little kiddie rolls out into the street on a big wheel and gets hit by a car, no biggie; that is perfectly ok.

The long time imprisoned journalist and former Black Panther Mumia Abu-Jamal, has spoken out from a prison infirmary about the police killing of Walter Scott in South Carolina. Abu-Jamal, who is seriously ill at SCI Mahanoy, rose from his infirmary bed to record the commentary after a fellow prisoner wheeled in a TV so he could watch coverage of the shooting.

Mr Slaeger's (the cop who was SEEN on video! shooting an unarmed black man) wife is eight months pregnant, and the mayor of N Charleston announced that she will continue to receive his health insurance, basically because, 'it's the right thing to do.' Then we have Mumia Abu-Jamal ACCUSED of killing a cop, who is in need of urgent medical care, and not getting it. Does anyone else see the hypocrisy in this? It would be laughable if it weren't so tragic.

RiP Tamir Rice but I'm not really relating to the ''protest'' Al Sharpton bit from the narrator. There is a reason that some white folk really viscerally hate Sharpton (and his family it appears .. if you elide to next video) is because Al Sharpton is NOT shy to speak hard and harsh home truths to white power.

The murder of Tamir Rice is particularly shocking and egregious .. and being polite about it by being 'respectful' of white folks' feeling - is not on for black folk. Protesting murder, isn't really ''race baiting'' although cops continuously killing people of color with impunity for decades could be seen as ^that^.

Yes. Everything is opposite in Bizarro World. Good is bad, up is down, taxpaying citizen is enemy combatant.

Also, . . . is good not to have job in Bizarro World. So, not have money to spend, so company goes out of business. More layoffs, less money, more closures. Cycle continues. Only total worldwide financial collapse will validate neoliberal economics.

So - ''This Thanksgiving, Let’s Say ‘No Thanks’ to the Tyranny of the American Police State'' ...

From which I excerpt: ''Militarized police, shootings of unarmed citizens, SWAT team raids, misconduct and qualified immunity have transformed the U.S. into a police state. What we must contend with today is the danger of having a standing army (which is what police forces, increasingly made up of individuals with military backgrounds and/or training ... have evolved into) that has been trained to view the citizenry as little more than potential suspects - combatants and insurgents. Despite propaganda to the contrary, it is estimated that U.S. police kill more people in days than other countries do in years. On an average day in America, at least 100 Americans have their homes raided by SWAT teams (although I have seen estimates as high as 300 a day), which are increasingly used to deal with routine police matters: angry dogs, domestic disputes, search warrants, etc. Every Five Days a police officer somewhere in America engages in sexual abuse or misconduct.'' However .. I do recommend reading the entire heartfelt article.

SUNY ESF & native land it stands on. The environmental school acknowledges that it stands on Haudenosaunee Territory and native Onondaga land.

"Where We Stand"

http://www.esf.edu/communications/view.asp?newsID=3955

"Before a crowd of about 100 from the college community and the Onondaga Nation, Wheeler highlighted three points:

ESF is located within the original territory of the Haudenosaunee, or Iroquois, Confederacy.

The college's main campus, its Heiberg Forest and its Lafayette Road Experiment Station are all within the Land Rights Action of the Onondaga Nation.

The Onondaga Nation maintains its own distinct government, language and customs based on a smaller portion of its original land base located south of Syracuse."

"These statements reinforce our responsibility to think about where we stand in the context of history, geography and environmental understanding so that we are ever-cognizant of the implications of our work for the real world," Wheeler said. "As individual persons, our time here is brief, but the land is permanent and our decisions and actions toward the land have consequences for many generations to come. We stand on the side of responsible stewardship of the land."

"SUNY-ESF has stood on this ground for more than 100 years, a long and venerable history of education for the environment," she said. "However, our tenure here is but an eye blink of time in the history of these lands, which have been and continue to be the ancestral homelands of the Onondaga people since time immemorial."

"Kimmerer noted the center has created an undergraduate minor called Native Peoples and the Environment and that next year it will introduce a new graduate program in indigenous issues and the environment."

A step and maybe a lesson to others in how to begin to heal the wounds of colonialism, genocide, slavery and hegemony.

A Drone Protestor Heads to Jail:

http://billmoyers.com/story/a-drone-protestor-heads-to-jail/#.Vp_7rESv_mY.twitter

A must read. I guarantee you will be outraged. This segues nicely here, because this arrest happened just outside of Syracuse, New York, where, evidently, and who knew, training occurs for drone pilots. Good grief.

[-] 4 points by ImNotMe (1488) 1 year ago

So - ''Fifty-nine-year-old Mary Anne Grady Flores will serve six months for photographing a protest of an airfield in upstate New York where drone pilots are trained and from where missions are carried out.'' (WhoTF knew that?!) - from your link:

Which ends with:''Grady Flores was arrested in 2012, when she and 16 others blocked the entrance to the base, prompting the request from the military for the order of protection. So when she was arrested again a year later — not for protesting herself but for stepping on the road outside the base and taking pictures of others who were protesting — she was found to be in violation of that protection order. And the protestors she was photographing? They were acquitted.

''Justice David Gideon threw the book at her and he sentenced her to a year, claiming in his five-page ruling that he didn’t buy her First Amendment argument.Instead, he thought she “was willing to ‘break the law’ to seek publicity for her cause.” After an appeal - her sentence was shortened to six months.

''Before she went to jail yesterday she told us ... “I asked my grandchildren, ‘Do you know where I’m going?’ and they said, ‘yeah, you’re going to jail, Nana.’” She told us that it is difficult to leave her 88-year-old mother who is ailing ... but that her mother appreciates her carrying on in the tradition of Dr. Martin Luther King and the iconic Catholic activist Dorothy Day, with whom her mother once worked. Day famously said, “No one has a right to sit down and feel hopeless. There is too much work to do.”

''Grady Flores says her mother’s good-bye shared that sentiment, “Mom said to me, ‘I’ll pray for you, I’ll be with you in that cell.’ She said it in a whisper but she is [also] grateful that I am continuing the work.”

ISIL juts out but Al Qaeda still lurks. Various terrorist groups include: Boko Haram, Afghan Taliban, Khorasan group, Al Shabaab, Al Qaeda in the Arabian Penninsula, etc.

They are quite willing to kill Americans en masse. However, they are indeed well dwarfed by our very own protector armies called the police and our very large groups of home-grown domestic militiamen. Remember the Christian Soldier Song from WWII?

The U.S. Constitution's Second Amendment protects WELL-REGULATED militias but not undisciplined ones. The First Amendment protects mosques but never, ever, diminutive mosqu-itoes!

Right and remember that ''Obama made the decision in early 2009 to block the Justice Department from criminally investigating and prosecuting Cheney and his fellow torturers, as well as to protect them from foreign investigations and even civil liability sought by torture victims.

''Obama did that notwithstanding a campaign decree that even top Bush officials are subject to the rule of law and, more importantly, notwithstanding a treaty signed in 1984 by Ronald Reagan requiring that all signatory states criminally prosecute their own torturers.

''Obama’s immunizing Bush-era torturers converted torture from a global taboo and decades-old crime into a reasonable, debatable policy question, which is why so many GOP candidates are now openly suggesting its use.

Alas .. ''... now, the Obama administration has moved from legally protecting Bush-era War Criminals to honoring and gushing over them in public. OR, is it likely to be more analogous to a dimmer switch, that needs to be turned down first before you can turn it off completely?!!!

Very telling article.

''A domestic terrorist act every 64 days makes a mockery of the trillions spent on the ‘war on terror’. And the ‘war on terror’ is a gift that keeps on giving to a selected few. In this philosophy, little is more profitable than wars and disasters. ‘Disaster capitalism’ is accepted as inevitable and self-evident, and even belongs to the current lexicon.

''Secondly, calling the mass-shooters terrorists, may cause some to question what is the difference between nine people assassinated in a school in Roseburg, 50 wedding guests assassinated in Afghanistan by a drone operator comfortably seated in Las Vegas, and 22 medical personnel and patients exterminated by an air-raid on an Afghan Hospital.

''Here is where false consciousness comes in. It can be defined as being or remaining unaware or immune to the causal effects of the convictions and beliefs imposed upon us by the prevailing ideology.''

"Bolts from the blue" re: tasers

http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/nov/05/police-tasers-deaths-the-counted

"When a heart is beating correctly, however, electricity can instead disrupt the impulses from its internal pacemaker and cause the heart to enter into a dangerous and irregular rhythm known as ventricular fibrillation, or VF. Left unaddressed, VF rapidly leads to cardiac arrest and then death."

Enough said.

[-] 5 points by ImNotMe (1488) 1 year ago

A defibrillator works by applying a jolt of electricity to a stopped or a ''fibrillating'' heart .. in order to re-start it &/or stop the fluctuating ''fibrillations'' so that a steady heartbeat can be restored. The Heart is primarily a highly electrically active, muscular, fluid pump. Therefore - applying any massive electrical shock TO a normally working heart ... will / can, have .. The Completely Opposite Effect of potentially stopping it as - ''Left unaddressed, VF rapidly leads to cardiac arrest and then death.''!

This is NOT rocket science or even differential calculus and - even Police Officers must understand this. Ergo - Of Course Taser Deaths should be counted as deaths in PD custody. US PDs are under-funded, and under-trained and with a overly large number of ex-military, with possible PTSD complications. Far too many are used by cash strapped municipalities as de facto fine generators - but with guns. IF they are, on top of all this - RWNJs & racists, then that makes for a very bad combination, to say the least!

R.I.P. Laquan McDonald, 17 year-old African American boy, shot by police 16 times while walking away from them. Contrast this to the capture of the Planned Parenthood terrorist, Robert Lewis Dear, white, racist, religious extremist, endangering all the people in the Planned Parenthood center, yet he is captured alive and unhurt.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-nation/wp/2015/11/28/did-white-privilege-keep-the-planned-parenthood-shooter-from-being-killed-by-police/

Sorry, but I just can't get over that contrast. It makes me sick.

Let alone the lack of acknowledgement of the similarities of the white racist religious extremists here at home vs. the Muslim religious extremist terrorists. Same thing, folks.

[-] 3 points by ImNotMe (1488) 1 year ago

RIP Laquan McDonald :-( & Robert.L.Dear is a TERRORIST - no ifs, buts or maybes!!! Americans are far more in danger of gun-toting; self-righteous; so-called-Christian; RWNJs like him, than they are from any ISIS-RWNJ-loon!! Do you doubt for one itty-bitty minute that IF he'd been black that he'd have been shot dead on the spot ... never mind the sick irony of spewing ''Pro-Life'' platitudes, while actually killing folk?!

Robert Dear was taken alive. Same for Arora Cinema shooter & any number of other White Shooters but a black man: on the floor (Eric Harris); or running away (Walter Scott); or with his hands in the air (Mike Brown); or pleading to be allowed to breathe (Eric Garner); or a child playing (Tamir Rice) or going home (Trayvon Martin) can be shot to death with minimal rhyme or reason for so called facts that later turn out to be fiction! The injustice & reality of these facts on the ground - constitute 'State Terror', in my opinion!!

Black folk have been living with exactly this kind of uber-violence from ''state servants'' ... for a LONG fkn TIME but now camera tech ... proves what they have been saying all along!! This is why - so many Right Wing White Americans, seem to need to be reminded that: a) it is a woman's right to choose & b) that..

And YES .. of course, "All Lives Matter" too - OBVIOUSLY ... but for far longer than too many white folk care to remember .. Black Lives Have Mattered Far Less! Bernie Sanders gets it but I wonder IF RWNJ-Americans (DTrump etc) are ready for that? To say''White Lives Matter''at black people is saying ''White Power And Don't You Forget It"! The 99% Struggle can not brook ANY racist bigotry, here or anywhere!!!

U.K. Police vs. U.S. Police dealing with similar knife attacks:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/london-police-knife-wielding-suspect_56636dc5e4b08e945fefcacd

"In both incidents, the suspect is holding a knife near police. But there's a glaring difference in the officers' reaction to the situation.

In the San Francisco video, far more officers respond and all of them are carrying guns, though officers later said they tried to subdue the suspect with beanbag guns before shooting him. In London, the two officers in the video carry stun guns.

In San Francisco, the suspect died in a hail of bullets. In London, the suspect was subdued.

Meanwhile, the U.K. is on its second-highest alert level, meaning a militant attack is considered highly likely.

Few officers carry firearms in the U.K. In fact, a 2006 survey of the British Police Federation, which represents all officers in the U.K., found that 82 percent of members didn't even want officers to be armed. Each police unit has its own firearms team, but police-involved incidents are routinely gun-free, according to the BBC."

So, obviously poor 17 year-old, ward of the state, Laquan McDonald, didn't have a chance.

Here are the statistics being kept by The Guardian on people killed by cops in the U.S. in 2015:

Consider: ''Adding Up the Broken Souls'', by Robert Koehler:

Which ends: ''In Chicago, a police officer shoots a teenager walking in the middle of the street 16 times, almost as though the gun took control of the officer’s consciousness. Barbara Ransby, a professor at the University of Illinois, Chicago, interviewed recently by Democracy Now, pointed out that, because of budget cuts, only about 20 Chicago police officers have received crisis intervention training.

''My God, budget cuts! In a country that’s waging perpetual war and raking in billions from the global sale of weapons. Yeah, the boy had been acting erratically. But real public safety for the city of Chicago would have included safety for Laquan McDonald, the 17-year-old killed by police officer Jason Van Dyke.

''I fear we’re reversing the evolutionary process. We’ve surrendered to simplistic, impulsive, fear-based “safety” and we’re reaping the consequences, one broken soul at a time.''

Many thanx for your powerful links, reply & comparison. A culture of violence takes time to turn around. Maybe - just maybe .. a Bernie POTUS win could kick start that Re-evolution Revolution! Solidarity bw.

The above is elf's excellent comment here: http://occupywallst.org/forum/everyone-needs-to-see-this-anonymous-code-blue-201/#comment-1058330 ... from elsewhere on this increasingly important but equally horrifying, forum-post and thread.

National Police Misconduct Reporting Project-----Amazing. Everyone should see this. Would make a good forum post.

[-] 4 points by ImNotMe (1488) 1 year ago

Police Misconduct can come in many forms these days, for example, consider this linked video - ''After Latest Mass Shooting .. A Look at the Oregon County Sheriff Who Vowed to Ignore Gun Control Laws'': http://www.democracynow.org/2015/10/2/after_latest_mass_shooting_a_look What does he think now - & what relevance has this chart http://www.vox.com/2015/10/1/9437187/obama-guns-terrorism-deaths ?

IF guns really made citizens safe, then cops would and could not get away with much of their egregious behaviour. Guns do not make citizens any safer (quite the opposite, I'd argue), BUT these guns can and do, Give The Illusion Of That Safety & so the NRA and the gun making corporations like that very much. Cops then believe that they're in some kind of Arms Race and so, the same circle of carnage continues.

Once it was organised religion that was considered to be .. ''the opium of the masses'' .. but in the USA these days, guns have replaced religion.Maybe it'd be better if Opium Was The Religion Of The Masses as opposed to poor substitutes thereof! Then again, lots of stuff could remain undone in society but that may, in and of itself, in the final analysis, not be too bad a thing, as 2nd Amendment has been hijacked by NRA (No Real Answers!); Arms Corporations and TPTB in USG, for their own dark needs and profits!

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33132) from Coon Rapids, MN 1 year ago

That is one that shows where the city District attorney is full of shit = can't see what happened from the tape - and is why accountability can not stop at firing the Chicago Police Chief but should include the District attorney in this instance for failure to charge and prosecute what clearly is shown (I saw a clearer video of the incident on PBS - much clearer much better focus much better lighting) to be a man shot in the back (again contradicting the police incident report where "they" said that the man turned toward them - when the tape clearly shows he did not - and the DA says that the video is not clear enough to bring charges). Now we will see what happens - NOW - that the tape has been seen by the public and the feds have decided to investigate the police department. Will public outcry bring another late charging of the killers? Perhaps the firing of the DA ? This murder by police and cover up by chain of command and the attorneys office SHIT has got to be stopped.

They want us afraid and dependent on the government and its militarized armies for our safety and well-being. They want us distrustful of each other, divided by our prejudices, and at each other’s throats. Most of all, they want us to continue to march in lockstep with their dictates.

Tune out the government’s attempts to distract, divert and befuddle us and tune into what’s really going on in this country, and you’ll run headlong into an unmistakable, unpalatable truth: the moneyed elite who rule us view us as expendable resources to be used, abused and discarded." From your alternet link: http://www.alternet.org/news-amp-politics/us-opinion-jewish-refugees-1939-matches-racial-panic-gop-governors-over-syrians

"The Syrian war has raged on for over four years, killing an estimated 250,000, with the U.S. and its allies sharing at least some responsibility for the conflict, having shipped arms and funded the Syrian opposition since at least 2012."

We really better start learning from history. What has happened in Syria and the rise of ISIS, all while Ms. Clinton was Secretary of State, by the way, is not dissimilar to the rise of Khmer Rouge in Cambodia. Why is it that humans don't learn from past mistakes? Or is this a planned chaos? I hate to think the latter but it appears that it may be so.

''Terrorizing Students: The Criminalization of Children in the US Police State'', by H.A.Giroux:

''One recent example of a particularly disturbing incident of police brutality was captured in a series of videos recorded at Spring Valley High School in South Carolina. Prior to the incident being filmed, a young Black student named Shakara took out her cell phone in class. The teacher asked her for it, and when she refused to hand it over, she was asked to leave the class. The teacher called the vice principal. Rather than attempt to defuse the situation, the vice principal called for a school resource officer. At this point, Officer Ben Fields enters the classroom. One of Shakira's classmates, Niya Kenney, immediately asked her classmates to begin filming because, as she put it, "I told them to get the cameras out, because we know his reputation - well, I know his reputation."

''In what follows, one of the videos records the following: Officer Ben Fields approaches the young woman, appears to give her no time to stand up and proceeds to grab her left arm while placing his right arm around her neck; he then lifts her desk, pulls her out of her seat, slams her to the ground and drags her across the floor before handcuffing her.

''The video is difficult to watch, given the extreme and disproportionate violence used against this young Black woman. She was arrested, as was Kenny, who both filmed the incident and loudly protested the treatment of Shakara. Fields was fired soon afterwards, but incredulously, both students are being charged with "disturbing schools, a crime punishable by up to 90 days in jail or a thousand dollar fine."

''The increasing visibility of police brutality in schools and in the streets speaks to a larger issue regarding the withering of democracy in the United States and the growing lawlessness that prevails in a society in which violence is one of the few resources left to use to address social problems. The US is paying a horrible price for turning governance at all levels over to people for whom violence serves as the default register for addressing important social issues.

''As the movement for Black Lives has made clear, the Spring Valley High School case and others are part of a larger trend that has turned schools across the country into detention centers and educators into hapless bystanders as classroom management is ceded to the police.

''What we see in this incident (and in many others that have escaped national attention because they are not caught on cell phones) are the rudiments of a growing police state. Violence is now a normalized and celebrated ideal for how the United States defines itself - an ideal that views democracy as an excess or, even worse, a pathology. This is something Americans must acknowledge, interrogate and resist if they don't want to live under a system of total terror and escalating violence.''

"The political pressure was too much," Helms[the CIA director at the time of the Israel's attack on the U.S.S. Liberty] said.

The keepers at all U.S. intelligence agencies, especially the NSA, should take heed of Israel's attack on the U.S.S. Liberty. When it is politics against your life and liberty, the U.S. politicians will make sure that their political advantage will take priority over your life and liberty. Did Ambassador Stevens miss this important lesson before visiting Benghazi?

The U.S. dollar bill's Great Seal of the United States needs a redesign. "Politik über alles![Politics above everything!]" should be the motto above our 40-pound gigantic obese Chicken scratching for more grubs under the Star-of-David. The shield on the Chicken's breast should read "Lege ex immunitatem [Immunity from prosecution]" The arrows clutched by the Chicken should be broken because the rescue attempts were politiked and recalled. The olive branch should hold the dollar signs showing the foreign aids holding the peace between the Great Pyramid and the Star of David achieved at Camp David by one who carts. The all-seeing-eye of the keepers at the NSA on top of the Great Pyramid should be labeled as the U.S.S. Liberty.

[-] 2 points by lugano (1221) 2 years ago

If indeed ''U.S. politicians will make sure that their political advantage will take priority over your life and liberty.'' - then perhaps that would explain the incredible levels that The Security/Surveillance State has reached, given how ... it wants to stop any questioning of ''The Official 9/!! Conspiracy Theory'' narrative, which can not withstand even the most elementary scrutiny and/or analysis.

The US Deep State/Israeli Intel./Saudi Arabian Intel nexus behind that fateful day nearly 14 years ago - will now do anything and everything - NOT to be found out - ergo total security and surveillance is what their desire/need to prevent disclosure of a truer 9/!! meme-equation, which may go something like this:

9/!! - NORAD + (WTC1 + WTC2) + {WTC7 x WTF!} + [Pentagon - Plane + GlobalHawk / CruiseMissile] + UA93 - C.S.I. = Coup d'Etat to enable ''The Clash of Civilisations'' - so beloved and essential to some!

Re. Ambassador Stevens .. well if we lay/lie with dogs - we get fleas! Stevens was on one hand, a fluent Arabic speaker, with a deep knowledge of Arab societies and culture - and on the other hand, either very involved OR (conversely and paradoxically) NOT involved at all .. with all the CIA covert help that enabled enabled ''The Rat Line'' of Jihadists/Weapons from Libya TO Syria .. but of course we are NOT supposed to know anything about all the goings on at that CIA Benghazi FOB or about what's behind ISIS/IS! allegedly

confiscated and toed my car

paid $500 to get it out

and had to go back to LA courts again to clear the mistake I hadn't made

[-] 3 points by lugano (1221) 2 years ago

That's outrageous & maybe you should consider legal action and maybe pursue the matter in the 'Small Claims Court' yourself. IF an false confiscation cost you time and money, then you deserve redress - as 'Revenue Raising Cops' are an injustice upon The 99% in the U$A. This will continue unless challenged.

[-] 1 points by grapes (4964) 2 years ago

The "Small Claims Court" probably won't give Matt redress because it is often staffed by old Jews and Jewesses. Even a lawyer who may come to help Matt is probably another Jew or Jewess. Why would God send Jesus to condemn and accuse if the Jews and Jewesses had Justice on Earth?

Matt paid the $500 to the towing company for the service rendered for towing and storing his car allegedly per court order. What is the legal basis for Matt to collect the $500 from the "Small Claims Court?" The court did not tow or store his car. Matt has to show that there was court instruction to the towing company to tow his car. Do you think the court will divulge such information or will it drag the matter on indefinitely till Matt loses his patience? What if the court upon injunction by a superior court charge Matt an exorbitant amount of money to search for and copy such alleged court instruction? Wouldn't Matt just get back to square one or negative one?

[-] 3 points by lugano (1221) 2 years ago

I'm sure Matt's $500 loss will be someone else's gain - be it The Court or the Towing Company (which I had not thought about) but to be honest, my interest in the matter is somewhat limited. However, given the hysterical nature of your reply, the obvious questions are; WTF are you on and/or - on about, here?

On the important matter of US Police Departments becoming State/Municipal fine & debt collection agencies - which was my main point btw, consider: http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2015/03/05/ferguson-shows-how-a-police-force-can-turn-into-a-plundering-collection-agency/

Iraq, Libya and Syria had before they were destroyed). Black Lives Matter! Sad situation in St. Louis.

"St. Louis protesters march in upscale malls, suburbs during day; evening turns violent"

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/midwest/ct-jason-stockley-lamar-smith-protests-20170916-story.html

Violence is a result of despair.

"Sam Thomas, who was helping his friend clean up the glass from the shattered windows of his business, OSO, a clothing and accessories boutique, said he understood why people were angry. The U.S. justice system is broken and needs to be fixed, Thomas said.

"I'm not saying this is the right way to fix it," he said of the damage.

"The window isn't murdered. Nobody is going to have a funeral for the window. We can replace it."

Interesting. I agree with him that violence is never good, but maybe considering the roots of that violence, the despair, the injustice that is causing that despair, is the way out of this mess.

That Violence Begets Violence - is an absolute axiom. The events in Dallas are the direct result of the drip, drip, drip of the continuous ''Murder By Cop'' across the USA.The situation is further compounded by the easy availability of weapons of war. There is no justification .. FOR the murder of cops in Dallas. However, there are reasons for it. Denial of this - will only lead to more of the same. Obomber presides over a Culture Of Violence at home & abroad. USA needs a root and branch change of its ethos. Black Lives Matter - like All Lives Matter; Occupy Wall Street & Occupy Your Streets; Love Trumps Hate but Hate Leads To Hate. The USA needs to look deeply within & resist the knee jerk reactionary responses that the likes of tRUMP & his ilk will propose. Soft Hearts & Open Minds need to come to the fore now.

''The cry of "Black Lives Matter!" is not a proposal that white lives or police lives or soldiers' lives or any lives do not matter. It is a lament over the disproportionate targeting of blacks by police shootings. The trick is to understand the shootings as the enemy, the militarizing and weaponizing policies as the enemy, and not some group of people.

''The murders on 9/11 were not rightly understood. The enemy was murder, not Saudis or foreigners or Muslims. Now hundreds of times those murders have been added in response, making murder the big victor and peace the big loser. With no end in sight.

''We must not go on trying to solve a problem ... with the same tools that created it. We must - in fact, proclaim that "All Lives Matter." But .. if that is meant to include only the 4% of human lives contained within the United States, it will fail. We must stop training people to imagine that violence works - and hoping they will only use their violent skills abroad among the 96% of people who don't matter.'' - from:

''24-year-old Patrick Mumford was sitting in his own car in February, 2016 when he was confronted by three Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Officers, who were serving a warrant for another man, Michael Clay.

''The lead officer confronts Patrick but does not believe Patrick when he truthfully identifies himself to the officer, twice. Patrick rightfully asks the officers what is the matter and to see the arrest warrant they say they are serving.

''Fearful and confused, Patrick retreats into the passenger seat of his car. Within 38 seconds of his initial introduction to the officers, the lead officer is ordering Patrick to be tased for non-compliance.

''It takes a violent use of force for officers to realize what we already know: they have the wrong guy.

''Rather than apologize, the officers rationalize and justify their actions to horrified neighbors and even Patrick's parents. These rationalizations include the repeated false statement that the officers asked Patrick for his ID.

''Patrick is arrested for obstruction. As a non-violent drug offender serving in a first-offender probation program, a pending probation violation could cost him his job, his college education, and seven years in prison: all for sitting in his own car, minding his own business, and telling the truth.''

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33132) from Coon Rapids, MN 1 year ago

Telling an officer that you have a permit to carry and following that up by saying that you are indeed armed (apparently a huge mistake), while then telling the officer that you are going to get your ID from your pocket (everything other than you stating that you have a gun on you is ignored) - you reach for your identification (as you just told the police officer who is holding their gun pointed at you that you were going to do) - results in the officer shooting you to death. No animosity ever displayed towards the officer = and you are still dead (murdered).

Never-Say-Anything took on moonlighting in this booming economy of ours - as Lieutenant Data of law enforcement to rat on emergency room patients who died and who will be murdered.

Blow fly compound eyes of 'der Anschluss für alles' may turn out to be Say-Anything of the Never-Say-Anything. It's now comfortable enough for the U.S. to admit that it's circumventing its Constitution's Fourth Amendment.

See: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-watch/wp/2016/03/10/surprise-nsa-data-will-soon-routinely-be-used-for-domestic-policing-that-has-nothing-to-do-with-terrorism/

The pilot culling of the herd at the hospital emergency room was a resounding success. "The Police - Every Breath You Take"

Finally starting to see this type of incident get coverage on MSM.

No doubt the MSM is starting to show some of these items that have gone viral - because people are seeing the videos on the internet and are asking - where the fuck is the news coverage.

Here is another ugly incident - so far does not look like charges will be filed. (go to the YouTube link as there are several videos of the incident the 1st couple don't have sound) http://kos.salsalabs.com/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=d5B3iVKXJ2sdKs6J8fPPhZh4KHp1LCEI

I'm not really sure if http://bearingarms.com/ would have ideally wanted Andrew Thomas to actually be in possession of a firearm so that he could have shot the cop but my guess is that it wouldn't have helped!! I saw Bernie on Colbert last night. Colbert tried to get Bernie to say that he was gonna endorse HRC. Bernie wouldn't - instead he kept on with his intent to forward his platform. What happens after the DNC nomination convention? I don't know - but I keep telling Bernie that if he were to endorse HRC that it would make his whole campaign a lie.

Yes, I saw Sanders on Colbert last night too. He may not be endorsing Hillary, but he later said that he would probably vote for her. That's depressing! What's the difference? I think that he is trying to convince himself that by supporting her that we will be on a path to systemic change. Deep down, I think he knows better.

Hmmmmm - sorry but I don't see it - seriously - blue tarp guy tried to run the roadblock and almost ran over an agent while doing so. Then he jumps out of the mini-van (sorry = pick-up truck) at 1st doing the right thing = raising his hands well out away from his body - then for some stupid reason he reaches into his jacket quickly - come on - this guy is known to be armed and has made numerous statements about using his weapons if and when confronted. VERDICT ? = dumb-ass gets himself killed.

[-] 1 points by grapes (4964) 1 year ago

The "dumb-ass" might have been shot at twice (but going unreported) due to the Feral Burro of Incontinence's urge to piss: http://www.oregonlive.com/oregon-standoff/2016/03/oregon_standoff_fbi_agents_und.html

Excessive testosterone causes enlarged prostate gland that impinges on the bladder causing an uncontrollable urge to piss.

I think that we may now know why there might have been no audio with the released video clip.

Even Caucasians need to learn, nowadays, the three-sentence "Yes, Sir!" "No, Sir!" "Thank you, Sir!" survival routine when dealing with law enforcement.

Even Caucasians need to learn, nowadays, the three-sentence "Yes, Sir!" "No, Sir!" "Thank you, Sir!" survival routine when dealing with law enforcement.

Believe it or not - I was taught that in grade school = you don't antagonize someone who is carrying a gun.

[-] 1 points by grapes (4964) 1 year ago

I was taught in grade school that I should always carry a handkerchief with me. A white handkerchief is also for surrendering to peace. It's not racist!

I hope that all of our go-nuts, dough-nuts, hazard-nuts, mush-room-nuts - magical or physical - have learnt their lessons well in grade school or bullying may get us all WW4. ♥♡

[-] 1 points by grapes (4964) 1 year ago

The stupid reason may not be so stupid if he was shot at by the person behind him. The video recording did not have audio so we cannot determine whether he had been shot at before he reached into his jacket.

If he had been shot at or shot while he had his arms up, his reaching into his jacket might be an act of self defense. Another possibility is that the person to whom he was surrendering was commanding him to disarm himself under duress. More information from different perspectives, audios, videos, witness statements, etc. may help.

Rapist cop gets 263 years in prison

" Well he was a pitcher (rapist) — will he now become a catcher (raped) in the prison system? Karma can be a real bitch — Hey? Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time! Being a cop does not mean that you can do what you want = crime — and expect to get away with it. Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel oversaw the withholding from public view -- for more than a year -- of a video of a police murder of a teenager.

The police officer who shot 17-year-old Laquan McDonald 16 times, continuing to shoot his motionless body on the ground, has now been indicted for first-degree murder.

The video was kept secret for 13 months, during which time Emanuel never corrected the blatant lies by the Chicago Police Department that maintained the victim had lunged at the police with a knife just before he was shot. The video shows this to have been a complete fabrication.

A mayor willing to cover for the murder of his constituent is no mayor at all.

Click here to demand Rahm's immediate resignation.

If you are poor, and especially if you are of color, almost anyone who can verify your innocence will have a police record of some kind and thereby will be invalidated as a witness. If you are poor, you will be railroaded in assembly-line production from a town or city where there are no jobs through the police stations, county jails and courts directly into prison. And if you are poor, because you don’t have money for adequate legal defense, you will serve sentences that are decades longer than those for equivalent crimes anywhere else in the industrialized world.

Black ex-cop files suit after he and his son were beaten by other cops

The officers involved were just upset that one of their own was doing stuff for free on his off time . . . ummmmm . . . YEAH no racism here . . just protecting our employment from being abused . . . stuff like doing stuff off duty could make it so that less cops are needed on the job . . . and stuff . . . . .

It is not just individual criminal/rogue police officers - it is also very definitely the command structure and government that supports and defends the criminals - so - being criminal in their complicity and failure to prosecute and in intimidation of those who would prosecute.

What exactly does the law say? It authorizes people to protect themselves or their property by using deadly force in response to "unlawful intrusion" by a "public servant." The measure is essentially just a public-servant-specific amendment to the state's 2006 so-called Castle Doctrine bill, which allows people to do whatever they have to to stop someone from illegally entering a home or car. Indiana is reportedly the first state to specifically allow the use of force against police. The new rule was passed with a nudge from the National Rifle Association, which has pushed permissive gun laws around the country.

WOW . . . . just . . . WOW

Here is another take on the law - Myths and Misconceptions About Indiana's New...

Is it just me - or does it seem strange that you have to have a specification in the law to state that you can defend yourself from the police if the police are acting criminally.

Why isn’t every member of that SWAT team being prosecuted? And what about the judge who signed the warrant? The DA that asked for the warrant? All of them are culpable. Every single person that thought this would be a good idea is guilty of harming a 19 month old baby. I’m sure no one set out to hurt a baby, but the fact remains, they did, and they are guilty of being negligent and careless, at the very least. Where the heck is the accountability? They aren’t paying the child’s extensive medical bills, they aren’t paying the hotel bill for the struggling family, and they aren’t taking any responsibility for their actions.

Yes - where in the hell is the accountability?

The problem is, those who enforce the law should not only be held to the law, they should be held to a higher standard.

EXACTLY = Held To A Higher Standard !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the Source of the problem : http://kos.salsalabs.com/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=HJlM06p2uMSfoTFAinqY7HSLH%2BURjwQY

My comment to this post =

Just shows how wrong a union can be when it feels it must defend criminal actions by some of it's members.

Does anyone else see why the NYPD in this instance as well as in the instance of the illegal choke-hold death of another and so many other instances of criminal conduct and actions/deaths - have lost the trust of the society they are supposed to be a part of?

To be clear this is not just an NYPD failure - problem - issue. This kind of crap of defending criminal actions because the criminal is in uniform is a national problem - and does not start or end with any union - but also includes the full structure of governance.

[-] 3 points by Nevada1 (5843) 2 years ago

NYPD is in no position to be calling anyone Un-American. TPTB is the source of all this. Cameras and law suits do not do much, as the policy is coming from the top. The plan is to federalize police, while ending the Constitution.

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33132) from Coon Rapids, MN 2 years ago

Charges must be brought against criminal cops and against those who fail to charge and prosecute them = accessories after the fact. The chain of command must be held accountable = from the top to the bottom = there is no excuse for this kind of shit continuing - they (chain of command) can not claim that they are unaware or helpless to do anything - and this includes not just those in the police department but also in town - city - state - federal government.

Fire Marshall Shuts Down Officer Who Attempts To Violate His Rightshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUhRCsVSzYs

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33132) from Coon Rapids, MN 2 years ago

Excellent Video - too bad it ended before the conclusion of the stop. Excellent video following that one which showed a citizen defending his right to refuse entry into his home.

Home and Auto surveillance equipment owned by citizens is becoming a MUST HAVE - not just for capturing criminals in the act - BUT NOW more and more for the necessity of citizens to keep police honest and in compliance with the law.

There are now many commercials appearing on main stream (lame stream) "prime time commercials" advertising dashboard cameras.

Everyone should have this technology on board and absolutely know how to use it. (new tasking for cars equipped with back-up safety cameras? - "your 2016 purchase from NEW CAR COMPANY - now with surveillance equipment STANDARD")

This citizen peaceful self defense from police abuse of authority is becoming more necessary by the day - especially for people of color (equipment with solid recording ability as well as auto-matic transfer to off site video storage so the recording can not be "accidentally" lost).

Dashboard cameras have a lot of area for improvement of product. These recording devices should capture multiple views at the same time. View out the windshield, view out the rear window and view out both sides of the vehicle all at the same time - as well as view of the interior of the vehicle so that everyone can see that the driver and or passengers at no time presented a threat to the officer (s).

Truly sucks when the law abiding citizen needs to be protected from the representatives of the law!

[-] 1 points by Nevada1 (5843) 2 years ago

Agree, everyone needs camera protection.

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33132) from Coon Rapids, MN 2 years ago

Sad but true - good news is though - that better tech is coming out for consumer/citizen protection.

Have you noticed the prime time commercials now for 25 year shelf life Survival Food? Stuff has always been marketed on publications where the NRA does heavy advertising (Better Militias & Gardening magazine) - but is now becoming more of a lame stream media regular.

When do we see a resurgence of the do it yourself or have it completely installed bomb shelters?

The whole issue of rampant terrorism in the middle east (and spreading around the world) is fed mainly by the greed of the very few - who for some unholy reason are in positions of authority/power.

Foreign aid has always (well - MOSTLY) been approached wrongly = mega money = millions and billions of dollars being sent to irresponsible governments/leaders and then funneled into off-shore money havens rather than being used for the purpose of making life better for all - instead of the money being spent on the purchase of equipment which would improve the lives of all - like water treatment and alternative energy/electricity creation etc etc etc etc - the purchase of and the setting up of and the training of operation and maintenance of = equipment to better the lives of whole societies/nations.

EDIT-> Time for another federal investigation? Is that how these things have to be handled? If So - then - federal investigation should have teeth and that includes to charge and try the criminal cops as well as try their chain of command for aiding and abetting as well as charging county prosecutors for failure to charge and prosecute. Everyone in a position of authority should lose their positions over their failure to enforce the law on the criminal cops.

I think so - as the acts of the greedy few and a government that caters to them - causes the growth in the population of the poverty stricken - so our society becomes more volatile and angry and violent - so our police become more fearful of the population that they are supposed to be a part of.

It is a toxic feedback loop - a little of the bigger picture of greed of the few and skyrocketing income inequality.

Sandra Bland's arrest in the days before her death shouldn't have happened.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said the arresting officer violated procedure.1 State legislators said she "shouldn't have been taken into custody.”2 AND there is video footage of Officer Brian Encinia pointing his taser at Bland, yelling, "I will light you up.”3

Sandra Bland is dead because Encinia was out of control. But he hasn’t been held accountable.

Every day Encinia doesn't face accountability is an insult to Sandra Bland's life and memory. That's why we're demanding Waller County District Attorney Elton Mathis to do his job and prosecute Officer Brian Encinia. Can you sign the petition?

Tell Waller County DA Mathis: Officer Brian Encinia violated policy in Sandra Bland's violent arrest. Prosecute him to the fullest extent of the law.

Sign the petition

We still don't know what happened to Sandra Bland the night she died--but we do know that she should have never been arrested in the first place. We know that Brian Encinia violated policy and violently assaulted Sandra for no reason other than her being assertive in knowing her rights. In the video, you can hear Sandra asking 14 times why she was being arrested with no answer.4

Encinia thinks he's going to get away with this. He can't even be fired and have his license revoked unless he is brought up on charges and convicted. That's why we need the DA's office to step in.

When the video of Samuel DuBose's horrific killing by a Cincinnati cop was released, the officer was immediately indicted with a murder charge.5 And when people demanded justice in Baltimore after a video of Freddie Gray's murder, Marilyn Mosby indicted the six officers involved in his death.6 We know prosecutors have the power to do the right thing--we just have to make sure they do. If enough of us stand up and demand the prosecution of Brian Encinia, we can make sure he isn't free to harm another Black woman and that violent police are held accountable.

Will you add your name?

Thanks for speaking out.

My added comment on the petition:

Police are not above the law!

Police are supposed to enforce the law!

Police are supposed to know the laws that they are being called upon to enforce.

Police are supposed to know the limits of action that they can take under all circumstances.

Police are NOT allowed to make up the law as they go along!

Police are supposed to use the least amount of non-lethal force possible in every situation - they are not supposed to go for their gun at the least provocation.

There are all too many police who are physically assaulting and battering the people in the communities that they are supposed to be serving - without having just cause to do so.

Charge & Prosecute all criminal police actions!

Charge & Prosecute all criminal police or see society continue to fall apart and become more unsafe and violent due to a community's reasonable fear of the "police and their" criminal actions in the community.

Isn't that just the thing? Take your hand out of your pocket as I am here to harass you for recording me on video as I pull up to you to check you out for doing nothing illegal - please excuse my drawn weapon - but I want to take any advantage that I may reasonably use in my defense for shooting you - while you have done absolutely nothing wrong to warrant my attention.

Tense confrontation. The Citizen is a Hero.

Good thing that the officer did not stumble during his UN-needed stroll - or - he might have been spraying lead all over the place.

A sane non-white response to police: http://occupywallst.org/forum/everyone-needs-to-see-this-anonymous-code-blue-201/#comment-1064783 … Damn straight I am in fear for my life!

The citizen is lucky - while also sounding white - so non-threatening.

Black individual under the same circumstances = ARE YOU F'n CRAZY? There is no way in hell that I want to take my hand out of my pocket as it is attached to the end of my arm and even though you are standing at least 30 feet away from me right now it is apparent from previous and prevalent incidents - that my empty hand is considered an immediate and deadly threat to you and yours. So no - I will try to stand here in a non-threatening manner with my hand in my pocket and pray to god that I will live to see the sun rise again tomorrow.

Same old thing, hysterical cowardly cops. So they seem to have taken the shopkeeper away, with his shop not locked.

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33132) from Coon Rapids, MN 2 years ago

Pretty sad situation - he asked to lock up his shop prior to talking to the cops. What was wrong with that? Then they let him get started and jump on him before he can finish - WTF is that? I hope he got a copy of the video and sues the city. They didn't even ask him to stop - they just jumped him.

I guess the city must enjoy getting sued and paying out millions of dollars in reparations on a regular basis.

No such thing as conflict resolution anymore, just criminal cop behavior.

No such thing as conflict resolution anymore, just criminal cop behavior.

Unless one is an incredibly blessed white individual (stupidly - insanely lucky) - actually armed & dangerous asshole or not:

Or is it a matter of psychopaths recognizing one of their own?

Here in Minnesota the Minneapolis police force has a pure poison reputation of being thugs in uniform. Bet they will just love when it is time for them to wear body cams.

Russian gathering and rebroadcasting of domestic issues in the USA is pretty good - hey? Do you think they will be nominated for any American journalism awards?

WE DON'T NEED NO F'n INFORMATION !!!!

" When I later visited the Fairfax County police station to gather details about what went wrong, I met the shift commander, Lt. Erik Rhoads. I asked why his officers hadn’t contacted management before they raided the apartment. Why did they classify the incident as a forced entry, when the information they had suggested something innocuous? Why not evaluate the situation before escalating it? "

" Rhoads defended the procedure, calling the officers’ actions “on point.” It’s not standard to conduct investigations beforehand because that delays the apprehension of suspects, he told me."

" I noted that the officers could have sought information from the apartment complex’s security guard that would have resolved the matter without violence. But he played down the importance of such information: “It doesn’t matter whatsoever what was said or not said at the security booth.”

Cops do not want to be bothered with information.

Do you think that they consider "willful Ignorance" as a standard tactic for when they get called into court as being a legitimate defense plea?

" But Your Honor and Ladies & Gentlemen of the Jury - these police officers should be given much leeway in their actions that resulted in the unfortunate death of that family - because they didn't know what they were getting into - it was an unknown situation and they were all in fear for their lives - so when they saw popcorn flying through the air - naturally they thought that they were under attack - it was not apparent until much later that it was determined that the popcorn was thrown into the air by a shocked child at being surprised by the entry team - and one does note that the bowl was large ceramic and heavy. "

I was afraid for my life. . .

[-] 1 points by Nevada1 (5843) 2 years ago

Exactly. These cops are afraid of their own shadow, and respond as such. In fact, they have only one response.
