In Ohio republicans are trying eliminate early voting in dem districts in big cities but allowing early voting in republican districts.

And today I heard MS river at lowest level in decades. Many boats running aground. only 9' deep in some places! All mid American rivers/lakes so low and hot that almost1 million fish are dieing.

It is undeniable for anyone who isn't blinded by the politics of fossil fuel corps.

They will know eventually. When I don't know.

[-] 3 points by VQkag2 (16478) 12 years ago

Agreed. This is why they have such efforts at suppressing the dem vote.

They know there time is almost done. And if they get in they will attempt to cement & consolidate their power.

Get all corpoRATist's out into the light of day and expel them from government.

Follow the money - it always knows - the flavor of corruption where ever it grows.

Support Move to Amend the state by state campaign to remove corpoRat personhood and get money out of politics.

"The republican party is done."

Well, we're half way there! Destroy both of them.. Throw the ring into the fire Frodo, DO IT!!! DO IT!!! PLEASE!!

R's can't win w/o cheating

[-] 3 points by VQkag2 (16478) 12 years ago

This is the difference between the parties!. We need to create a new system! Yes! We MUST use the existing system to lay the ground work for that new system!

To do that we must recognize that the republicans are the problem.! Dems can be made to support the progressive policies we need to create the new system.

The Dems are trying to expand the vote. Repubs are trying to suppress our vote.

It IS happening, It DOES matter. And if someone tells us not to worry they are pushing republican talking points, and serving republicans goals.

[-] 1 points by marvelpym (-184) 12 years ago

they certainly expanded the vote in Minnesota

When 1,099 felons vote in race won by 312 ballots

Minnesota Majority took the information to prosecutors across the state, many of whom showed no interest in pursuing it. But Minnesota law requires authorities to investigate such leads. And so far, Fund and von Spakovsky report, 177 people have been convicted — not just accused, but convicted — of voting fraudulently in the Senate race. Another 66 are awaiting trial. “The numbers aren’t greater,” the authors say, “because the standard for convicting someone of voter fraud in Minnesota is that they must have been both ineligible, and ‘knowingly’ voted unlawfully.” The accused can get off by claiming not to have known they did anything wrong.

Still, that’s a total of 243 people either convicted of voter fraud or awaiting trial in an election that was decided by 312 votes. With 1,099 examples identified by Minnesota Majority, and with evidence suggesting that felons, when they do vote, strongly favor Democrats, it doesn’t require a leap to suggest there might one day be proof that Al Franken was elected on the strength of voter fraud.

And that’s just the question of voting by felons. Minnesota Majority also found all sorts of other irregularities that cast further doubt on the Senate results.

[-] 3 points by VQkag2 (16478) 12 years ago

I disagree! That doesn't make any sense and is unrelated to the cheating being attempted by republicans in Ohio. Or do minnesota's unfairly convicted citizens have some magical affect on Ohio?

LMFAO

[-] 0 points by marvelpym (-184) 12 years ago

it had a magical effect on the Senate and therefore all of us. a different type of cheating is still cheating.

[-] 3 points by VQkag2 (16478) 12 years ago

I don't believe you!

[-] 0 points by marvelpym (-184) 12 years ago

reality doesn't care if you believe in it or not

[-] 3 points by VQkag2 (16478) 12 years ago

In any event Al Franken is an excellent Senator of the 99%.

Why would you want a republican/conservative 1% plutocrat puppet in the senate? That would be one more vote for trickledown tax cuts for the 1%, cutting regs and crashing the economy again.

c'mon get with it.

[-] 0 points by marvelpym (-184) 12 years ago

the end justifies the means?

[-] 3 points by VQkag2 (16478) 12 years ago

I think the "means" you discussed is your own spin. Seems more like partisan sour grapes. So as I said. I don't believe you.

[-] 2 points by VQkag2 (16478) 12 years ago

HC told me "don't worry about voter suppression" it ain't really happening

[-] 2 points by bensdad (8977) 12 years ago

Each state has different laws about felons voting. Seems to me if I'm sentenced to 10 years and am released, I should be a full citizen again.

On the other hand, what about voter fraud criminals who live in one state & vote in another? Should he be allowed to vote for himself?

[-] 1 points by MattLHolck (16833) from San Diego, CA 12 years ago

I'm rather behind the times in science having not had a job in it for ten years

Do you have any sort of proof for your comment about Mn voter fraud?

I don't have a problem with your comment except that you provide nothing to substantiate it.

Further what does this have to do with the Republican voter suppression campaign?

[-] -1 points by marvelpym (-184) 12 years ago

They point was that both sides do it. Don't demonize one while preparing the other for sainthood. I mean, let's not forget the Black Panther party video of 2008

A book's coming out about the voting issue which is how i heard about the MN thing. Don't worry, I wouldn't just make up accusations without any proof. Who do you think I am, Harry Reid?

Ummm . . . sorry but you show one election where one candidate "may" have been put into office - and that was found to be a false accusation against the Democratic party.

But please show where there is a concerted effort by the Democratic party to screw with who has the right to vote. Show me the campaigns - the ongoing campaign of the Democratic party to screw with the Nations election process!

From one of the article links you provided : ( funny - did you even read the article? )

http://www.minnpost.com/politics-policy/2010/07/franken-coleman-senate-recount-flap-over-felon-votes-shows-gop-playing-fast-

A few other things: What makes anyone think felons would only vote for Franken? Indeed, it was Franken’s legal team during the recount’s election contest trial that raised the prospect that felons voted in the election; Franken’s lawyers found one such voter in a northern Minnesota county who voted for Coleman. Dare I ask: If Franken opened the door on such an avenue, why didn’t Coleman’s lawyers pursue this felon-voting issue then? They had their chance. And why does the Minnesota Majority report focus on the core-city counties?

[-] 0 points by marvelpym (-184) 12 years ago

"In the 2004 Washington state governor’s race, the Republican’s early lead was overcome by the miraculous discovery of previously uncounted ballots squirreled away in the Democratic stronghold of Seattle, handing the election to the Democrat"

"In the close governor’s race in Connecticut in 2010, a mysterious shortage of ballots in Bridgeport kept the polls open an extra two hours as allegedly blank ballots were photocopied and handed out in the heavily Democratic city. Dannel Malloy defeated Republican Tom Foley by nearly 7,000 votes statewide — but by almost 14,000 votes in Bridgeport."

Don't forget Holder decided to not prosecute the Black Panther's involved in the 2008 incident. Does that qualify as a concerted effort?

[-] 0 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 12 years ago

Again do you have links of a subsequent investigation?

If you do will they be as funny as this one you provided(?) : http://www.minnpost.com/politics-policy/2010/07/franken-coleman-senate-recount-flap-over-felon-votes-shows-gop-playing-fast-

And still - you have yet to show a public campaign to exclude or otherwise mess with the National election process.

The current corpoRATist party hiding behind the banner of Republic has a very visble campaign going in several states to suppress voters.

Where is the Democratic campaign?

[-] 0 points by marvelpym (-184) 12 years ago

I guess the Democrats are smart enough to not go public when they mess with the election process, except for the Panthers.

[-] 0 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 12 years ago

Put up or shut up. The Democrats clearly support many pro-humanity issues. Yes there are some who are also corpoRATist's and who do not support pro-humanity issues - but not nearly as many as are hiding in plain sight in the Republican party.

Show me good things supported by the current Republicans in office. Where more then a lone individual is pushing an issue of benefit to all of the people - show the republican party support.

Because if you keep up with your attack the Dems BS and have no good basis for your attacks and if you can not show positive contributions to this forum of pro-humanity - you will plainly be an attacker of the forum and I suspect you will get booted.

[-] 1 points by marvelpym (-184) 12 years ago

Put up or shut up? No good basis for your attacks? Do you ask the same of Harry Reid?

Don't know how/why you jumped from voting to "pro-humanity", but, while I am not prolife, I suppose there are a lot of people out there who consider beng prolife being pro-humanity, but that's just matter of their opinion. Phrases like pro humanity are vague and open to interpretation. Kind of dumb too. They smack of hyperbole and histrionics.

Back to voting, bottom line is that what kind of voter fraud happens doesn't bother you, but who is doing it does.

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 12 years ago

Reid's calling for Mittens tax returns? or What? His flip flop on the Fed audit issue? What? Like I said not all Dems are lily white - I said that there a corpoRATist's hiding behind the Democratic banner - Reid may be one of those - his actions of late have certainly been called into question.

You go ahead and show that voter fraud has been supported/promoted by the Democratic Party and you will have something to talk about.

Voter suppression is a campaign that the corpoRATist party ( repub ) "is" pushing - BTW nice bit of miscounted votes in Florida that got G W Shrub elected - and here they go again with voter suppression campaign.

Voter fraud bothers me - and at the moment all you can point to is that it may have happened - not that anyone promoted the individuals to vote fraudulently.

But gw shrubs win in Florida sure stinks to high heaven.

Don't like pro-humanity?

Can't relate that to anti-pollution?

Can't relate that to anti-profits over people?

Can't relate that to anti-profits over the environment?

Can't relate that to end copoRAT personhood?

Can't relate that to End the Wars?

Can't relate that to support clean green power/energy/fuel technology?

Can't relate that to export peace not weapons?

Can't relate that to a living wage for all workers?

Can't relate that to supporting universal health care?

Can't relate that to supporting one subject at a time legislation?

Can't relate that too stop the outsourcing of work/jobs?

Can't relate that to rework trade agreements so that imports play on a level with domestically made products?

Maybe the problem is with how you view the world!

[-] 1 points by marvelpym (-184) 12 years ago

damn those anti-humanity politicians. they're probably anti sugar and spice as well. i bet they drown kittens, trip the blind and make prank phone calls in their spare time.

None of this fraud stuff is new. look back at history, at Rutherford Hayes, Tammany Hall and Richard Daley. how do you think we should combat the fraud?

[-] 0 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 12 years ago

Same as now one vote one person - let em use whatever ID they have that they conduct normal business using. Vote validation - perhaps move the vote day forward to allow a proper thorough validation process.

The dead do not vote.

The living vote once in one place.

Outlaw forecasting the winner - let the announcement come after the validation process has been completed. No more MSM influencing the polls.

[-] 1 points by marvelpym (-184) 12 years ago

Sounds good. I'm still stunned when I go to vote in NYC and all I have to do is sign my name. I could hit every single polling place if i wanted to and had a list of names.

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

That's because it's (R)epelican'ts doing the lions share of the fraud.

http://markcrispinmiller.com/2012/06/republicans-cry-voter-fraud-in-michigan-and-theyre-the-ones-committing-it/

It's been a way of life for them since the days of Nixon.

Or weren't you around to hear him utter those notorious words for the first time?

"I am not a crook!"

Yep, he most certainly was.

[-] -1 points by marvelpym (-184) 12 years ago

What is because it's Republicans dong the lion's share of the fraud?

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

Your foolish, false belief, about who is bothered.

You point to one unproven case, while I give folks being prosecuted, and that's just in one State..............

I'm thinkin' you didn't hear those words, when they were first spoken.

[-] 0 points by marvelpym (-184) 12 years ago

just wanted to make sure you weren't agreeing with my statement about who does it being the real issue. :)

and i gave four examples, at least one with prosecutions AND convictions

http://minnesota.publicradio.org/collections/special/columns/polinaut/archive/2011/10/poligraph_voter.shtml

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

Perhaps, but it fails to take issue with the simple question, of why should someone who has served their debt to society be banned form voting in the first place, and what factions created that rotten situation.

What I'm showing is pure unadulterated election fraud.

Performed by individuals that should know better.

[-] 0 points by marvelpym (-184) 12 years ago

go argue whether felons should be allowed to vote somewhere else and don't try to church up felons voting illegaly as a blow against social injustice. the law's the law.

But they have reduced military killing from millions to thousands. If support that direction/progress and continue agitating for an end to the drone bombings, the progress will continue.

Proof That The Occupy Wall Street OWS Forum Is Infested With Pro-Regime Propagandists

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_oNfVQ-7M-VQ/THFTY65XDgI/AAAAAAAAAP4/ohnlB1ZUoXo/s1600/march_of_tyranny.jpg

Paid or not, DKAtoday, Factsrfun, bensdad, liar VQkag2, idiot shooz, nutcase ZenDog and others here are pro-regime propagandists. The real proof lies in simply following their postings. But there are thousands of them, and more keep coming every day. So generally speaking, here are the key points to note:

Their overall aim is to co-opt Occupy Movement protesters and supporters into the Democratic Party. They do that by giving the Republican Party the blame for everything that is wrong, and giving the credit for what little might be right to the Democratic Party. They do that by ignoring irrefutable proof that the Democratic Party is controlled by the same corporate fascist elite that controls the Republican Party. They do that by claiming that OWS could somehow magically co-opt the Democratic Party, ignoring irrefutable proof that cannot be done. They do that saying we should support Democrats because they are "not as bad" as Republicans, as if once again voting for the lesser of two evils would actually change anything. They do that by focusing on social and other wedge issues that divide us, while ignoring the issues that unite us: They refuse to acknowledge that what the Republicans and Democrats agree on is far more damaging and dangerous than what they disagree on. They do that by ignoring irrefutable proof that the two major parties are merely the puppets on the Left hand and puppets on the Right hand of the same ruling elite. They do that by claiming anyone who disagrees with them is a "Republican, Repelican, RepubliCON or Koch Whore" and either a "coward, blind marcher, zombie or troll". And no matter how many times you call them out or correct them, no matter how clearly you lay the facts down in front of them, they go right on posting the same "Get out the vote (for Obama)!" propaganda day in and day out.

And curiously, no matter how viciously or often they insult their detractors, they never get banned or even shadow-banned. Yet that will likely happen to me now just for posting this obvious truth. That's already happened more than once:

Um, hello! welcome to the real world. If it matters, it will be suppressed. The Ron Paul people were suppressed, and very well documented, video, lawsuits, etc.

The M.O. is: don't give the sheeple an option. The only elections that matter are local. The national elections, are engineered, though pre-selected candidates (We win, You lose / or often both are the same, we WIN, we WIN, you're fucked).

It's not my side versus your side! It's the power structure versus the little people!!!

Come out of your sleep, everyone, wake up! wake up! WAKE UP!!!

[-] 2 points by VQkag2 (16478) 12 years ago

Repubs can't win w/o cheating

[-] 2 points by VQkag2 (16478) 12 years ago

Some Democrats cave in and vote for conservative policies. Republicans proudly trumpet those conservative policies they benefit the 1% plutocrats.

That is the difference of the parties..

Elect progressives. Republicans/conservative policies ARE the problem

[-] 1 points by kaiserw (211) 12 years ago

My challenge with many progressives is that they cave to the temptation of power over others (with good intentions of course). Power concentrated is what Tolkien wrote about in his trilogy The Lord of the Rings, his life's work. It corrupts all. No one is fit to rule. The power must be cast away. No one is fit to have power over others, including the government, because over time it congeals into a new ring of power:

Boromir: I ask only for the strength to defend my people! [approaches Frodo] Boromir: If you would but lend me the Ring... Frodo: [backs away] No! Boromir: Why do you recoil? I am no thief. Frodo: You are not yourself. Boromir: What chance do you think you have? They will find you. They will take the Ring. And you will beg for death before the end!

Galadriel: You offer it to me freely? I do not deny that my heart has greatly desired this. [starts to grow dark] Galadriel: In the place of a Dark Lord you would have a Queen! Not dark but beautiful and terrible as the Morn! Treacherous as the Seas! Stronger than the foundations of the Earth! All shall love me and despair!

No, the power must be cast away.

[-] 2 points by VQkag2 (16478) 12 years ago

Well that was entertaining. An excellent analogy of a well loved bit of literature.

Thx.

I agree of course. Power DOES corrupt. That sounds like a good argument for real direct democracy. Which of course I support and believe that we will evolve to that. It WILL take years.

In the meantime, the in between time we must cajole this existing corrupt system to lay the ground work for that inevitable new system. 1st and foremost we must keep the right wing conservatives out of office, they and their policies are the greatest threat.

Elect progressives, Conservative policies ARE the problem
