Yet our nation continues to BORROW DEBT, not real money, just to stay in operation? Who made the money off these items? Who will pay?

http://www.voxnews.com/index.php/police-state-usa/police-state-usa/477-tampa-police-roll-out-tank

They will not use it against peaceful protestors? You all better open your eyes, it's hidden in plain sight and isn't limited to huge tanks, submarines and helicopter gunships.

It's everywhere USA.

When you get the chance please check out this article. Karen, I am beyond outraged at how corrupt our Congress is and of course how greedy Wall Street is. We all need to be on Capitol Hill protesting. Our constitution is being used as toilet paper. We are heading for trouble because nobody cares about our constitutional rights.

This country is in very poor shape--we need true leadership not this crony politics that is robbing the 99% of their rights and freedoms. Many are being left destitute, this country will only be a shadow of itself if we keep going down the road we have been going down.

WHAT the he__? I just read the above links headline and came back here.

[-] 1 points by Windsofchange (1044) 12 years ago

I know, I know, I freaked the minute I came across a thread about this subject. Look up the 1033 plan. Scary stuff.

Hi, Yes, I am fully aware of where we are headed ... )-:

Thanks for the link.

You're welcome.

What I did not realize is how America is not for it's people ...

[-] 1 points by Windsofchange (1044) 12 years ago

No they're not. Look how the S.1867 bill passed in Senate last week (93-7). That is downright disgusting how so many of the senators voted for it when there are two sections in the bill that is a rape of our constitutional rights.

[-] 0 points by karenpoore (902) 12 years ago

I am confused. I have been reading about this and I can't tell if it is law now or not.

[-] 1 points by Windsofchange (1044) 12 years ago

No, it just passed the Senate on 12/1 and has been introduced in the to the House. It will be added into an already approved bill--The Military Construction Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012. Here is the info on the bill. They will be working to resolved the differences and then I believe they will have a final vote on it. I can't find that date. http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h112-1540

I knew the American people had been screwed, but ...

[-] 0 points by karenpoore (902) 12 years ago

Winds, where do you find all this information? I, mainly, go to websites like 'theconomiccollapse blog, Truthdig and Democracy Now. All you comments duly noted and I will look them up.

[-] 1 points by Windsofchange (1044) 12 years ago

Yes, I go to Democracy Now and I have been to the Economiccollapse.blog plenty of times. I also go to the Activist post and Alternet, and I admit I sometimes listen to Info wars. I have been listening a lot lately to the Judge on Freedom Watch (Fox TV)--he is pretty on the ball.

I am looking more and more for good independent news sources. I use to rely heavily on The New York Times and The Washington Post, as well as watching CNN. However, I am getting more and more leery of main stream news and am gravitating away from it.

Someone else posted this thread and I copied the link because I recognized the source. Here is another article on the subject from Alternet. http://www.alternet.org/story/153147/pepper-spraying_protesters_is_just_the_beginning%3A_here_are_more_hypermilitarized_weapons_your_local_police_force_could_employ/?page=entire

[-] 0 points by karenpoore (902) 12 years ago

I am not familiar with some of these websites. Thanks.

Yes, main stream media is something we have to fight against ... talking about a brainwashing tool of lies and control!

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 12 years ago

Absolutely.

[-] 1 points by MoRichardGates (68) 12 years ago

this is off subject but I ran across a guy that is trashing you me and others. This guy is Thrasymaque and Glaucon

Read the forum, it's full of threads by the Truthers. Then there are those claiming this forum is full of undercover government spies. Jacqueline, blazefire, MoRichardGates, GirlFriday, tbuontempo, FalseFlag, etc... There are many.

Howard Beale: I don't have to tell you things are bad. Everybody knows things are bad. It's a depression. Everybody's out of work or scared of losing their job. The dollar buys a nickel's worth, banks are going bust, shopkeepers keep a gun under the counter. Punks are running wild in the street and there's nobody anywhere who seems to know what to do, and there's no end to it. We know the air is unfit to breathe and our food is unfit to eat, and we sit watching our TV's while some local newscaster tells us that today we had fifteen homicides and sixty-three violent crimes, as if that's the way it's supposed to be. We know things are bad - worse than bad. They're crazy. It's like everything everywhere is going crazy, so we don't go out anymore. We sit in the house, and slowly the world we are living in is getting smaller, and all we say is, 'Please, at least leave us alone in our living rooms. Let me have my toaster and my TV and my steel-belted radials and I won't say anything. Just leave us alone.' Well, I'm not gonna leave you alone. I want you to get mad! I don't want you to protest. I don't want you to riot - I don't want you to write to your congressman because I wouldn't know what to tell you to write. I don't know what to do about the depression and the inflation and the Russians and the crime in the street. All I know is that first you've got to get mad. You've got to say, 'I'm a HUMAN BEING, God damn it! My life has VALUE!' So I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now and go to the window. Open it, and stick your head out, and yell, 'I'M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!' I want you to get up right now, sit up, go to your windows, open them and stick your head out and yell - 'I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore!' Things have got to change. But first, you've gotta get mad!... You've got to say, 'I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!' Then we'll figure out what to do about the depression and the inflation and the oil crisis. But first get up out of your chairs, open the window, stick your head out, and yell, and say it: "I'M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!" ~Network

Arthur Jensen: You have meddled with the primal forces of nature, Mr. Beale, and I won't have it! Is that clear? You think you've merely stopped a business deal. That is not the case! The Arabs have taken billions of dollars out of this country, and now they must put it back! It is ebb and flow, tidal gravity! It is ecological balance! You are an old man who thinks in terms of nations and peoples. There are no nations. There are no peoples. There are no Russians. There are no Arabs. There are no third worlds. There is no West. There is only one holistic system of systems, one vast and immane, interwoven, interacting, multivariate, multinational dominion of dollars. Petro-dollars, electro-dollars, multi-dollars, reichmarks, rins, rubles, pounds, and shekels. It is the international system of currency which determines the totality of life on this planet. That is the natural order of things today. That is the atomic and subatomic and galactic structure of things today! And YOU have meddled with the primal forces of nature, and YOU... WILL... ATONE! Am I getting through to you, Mr. Beale? You get up on your little twenty-one inch screen and howl about America and democracy. There is no America. There is no democracy. There is only IBM, and ITT, and AT&T, and DuPont, Dow, Union Carbide, and Exxon. Those are the nations of the world today. What do you think the Russians talk about in their councils of state, Karl Marx? They get out their linear programming charts, statistical decision theories, minimax solutions, and compute the price-cost probabilities of their transactions and investments, just like we do. We no longer live in a world of nations and ideologies, Mr. Beale. The world is a college of corporations, inexorably determined by the immutable bylaws of business. The world is a business, Mr. Beale. It has been since man crawled out of the slime. And our children will live, Mr. Beale, to see that... perfect world... in which there's no war or famine, oppression or brutality. One vast and ecumenical holding company, for whom all men will work to serve a common profit, in which all men will hold a share of stock. All necessities provided, all anxieties tranquilized, all boredom amused. And I have chosen you, Mr. Beale, to preach this evangel. Howard Beale: Why me? Arthur Jensen: Because you're on television, dummy. Sixty million people watch you every night of the week, Monday through Friday. Howard Beale: I have seen the face of God. Arthur Jensen: You just might be right, Mr. Beale. ~NETWORK

I don't mind if the Pentagon is giving away used equipment to police agencies across the U.S.

They can hardly use them against peaceful protesters.

If they do, we gain by that improper use of force.

And so long as that hardware is in the hands of civilian municipal authority, it increases the opportunities presented in any program designed to exploit division within American bureaucracy.

Have you seen the news on Syria? Members of the military are defecting - and taking their guns with them.

They are US I say,

We are NOT afraid.

[-] 2 points by origatomicapple (47) from Gift Lake, AB 12 years ago

50% of the 99% still arent with this movement good lucky convincing them to fight for a cause they dont believe in. Also militarized police can fuck up any civilian.

[-] 0 points by ZenDogTroll (13032) from South Burlington, VT 12 years ago

I'm not concerned. There are many sitting on the sidelines watching, and they know where their heart is.

When our message has sufficient clarity they will know where their own interests lie.

[-] 1 points by origatomicapple (47) from Gift Lake, AB 12 years ago

Well it sounds like you are down for some violent overtake and im down for that to. Which we know it will have to come down to for real change and not just a fake change to by them more time to imprison us. If we get numbers we win if not we go down in history as a random number in a group of deaths that got nothing.

I say:

Those who staunchly advocate violence,

and who will not be tamed by either reason,

love of their own neighbor,

or caution on behalf of the Movement,

must be ostracized and disavowed.

[-] 1 points by Windsofchange (1044) 12 years ago

Ok. Thanks for sharing your perspective.

[-] 0 points by ZenDogTroll (13032) from South Burlington, VT 12 years ago

You sound skeptical.

I watched with concern as police departments in Vermont retreated in isolation behind heavy steel doors, electronic locks, and intercoms as they insulate themselves from those they are committed to serve and protect.

I take such matters as no small consequence of our War on Drugs, since this process began long before September 11, 2001.

That they have equipment sufficient to the task of enforcing the law, at a time when Congress has so miserably failed in its responsibility to the public on issues like immigration and our war on drugs - both issues, failures as they are, have a direct and negative impact on law enforcement - that they be properly armed to the task in the midst of such legislative failure seems to be at least reasonable and fair.

As long as we are in the street, they are forced to face us, and through us, confront their own beliefs, and through belief, their commitments, to themselves, their jobs, their community, and the oaths they have taken.

They may kill us, corral us, or join us.

The options are few.

Those who ride the fence are certain to fall off.

. . . . and it's clickable . . .

One person can make a difference

I believe that.

And if that is true, just think what all of us can do, together.

And so I plant my flag

right in your turf

I raise it high

and why?

because . . . . ... ... ... we all have hills to fly them on

[-] 1 points by Windsofchange (1044) 12 years ago

Well, no matter what we need to stand our ground. I am just very sad at the direction this country is going in. Every American needs to get off of their duff and stand up for what is right and not allow their country to be further hijacked. Oh, how I wish they awoke from their comas.

Let's keep having an impact out there. Keep occupying and getting the word out.
