Now step over there for your 3rd ultra sound, and you know damn well your insurance will only cover one, so please be prepared to pay for "forced" services rendered too.

Geez, you libs want everything for free.

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Health care coverage is so gr8 now that the RINO's have had their say.

Aw c'mon. That whole "war on women" thing is just a dem talking point.

They wouldn't really do that, would they?

Next thing you know, they will be claiming the GOP is waging a "war on voters".

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Yeah yeah - silly me. Thanks. Whew - what was I thinking? I was just about to go on a rant about the destruction of the environment for profits over people - huh . . . Guess I got a little carried away - Hey?

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

Which begs the question......If there is no intelligent life left to observe it, is it still an environment?

It's just a "legitimate rape" of the environment, so whatever the result, it must be a gift from god.

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

A gift from God for any form of life that survives.

Hhmmm . . . and the meek will inherit the earth.

Got to get some coffee - damn dark in this kitchen - turn on a light - HEY - look at all those meek little fellows running for cover under the fridg.

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

[-] 0 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

Hey! Don't get political, OWS is not political. You R unpure!. He is unpure! Off with his head. You are hurting us. Waaaaaaaa!

;)

[-] -1 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

Why is the insanity of our politics increasing as the situations on teh ground keep getting worse?

For this guy to not be banned from teh party all together is insane.

And this thing, and many others, are also good proof on why parties in general are so detrimental to democracy.

[-] 1 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

Like the video stated their vp nominee Ryan and 171 others in their party supported this concept. So they have been hypocrits in criticizing Akin. It is their policy! that is why Akin believes he is right! He believes the party is just weak and playing politics.

I think that is why they don't ban Akin. Right?

[-] 0 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

Im not sure what the details in their inactions are. I am so NOT suprised by any of it.

[-] 1 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

"inactions"? What inactions? They voted 171 on a "forcible rape" specification regarding abortion. So it is not insane they didn't ban him! It is their policy! No?

[-] 0 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

Its an insane policy. The entire system is insane.

But not as insane as 300 million people allowing the system to screw them decade after decade.

Decent people trying to do good things all over that are being ignored...

Yeah I'm familiar with your Guy. He sounds great! Too bad he can't win.

As a NY'r I may vote 3rd party, but I can't encourage swing staters to do so because I believe Pres Obama is better than Romney. I don't agree with the drone bombing, or the NDAA, but I know Pres Obama is better.

What does this have to do with the rape confused Akin/Ryan wing of our "system"?

[-] 1 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

I'm just saying its another symptom of an entire system that is completely disfunctional and harbours perverts and criminals.

[-] 0 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

Yeah, sure does. Everything sucks. No hope.

[-] 0 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

If it didnt suck so bad, OWS wouldnt be around.

Our education wouldnt suck.

Our healthcare wouldnt suck.

Our manufacturing wouldnt suck.

Our money wouldnt suck.

Our housing market wouldnt suck,.

I could go on and on....

Im not saying there is no hope. Not at all. That was you.

Im saying its a broken fuckin mess, and its time we start something new instead of working within a 100+ yr old party. Thats like trying to infiltrate the mob to make them caring people again.

Its just not going to happen.

[-] 0 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

I disagree with the mob analogy. I think we can't pretend that the 2 parties don't have the power.

They have it and wield it for the 1%. We must get it back. I KNOW we can't get it back without dealing with the 2 parties that have it.

Money out of politics, replace conservatives w/ progressives, constant massive protests for change.

[-] 1 points by MattLHolck (16833) from San Diego, CA 11 years ago

yes and no

these parties have power because of acknowledge by the media and the vote

[-] 1 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

We MUST take the power back. We can't do it without engaging the people with the power.

If a bully took our baseball bat we wouldn't go off in a corner to create a new one. We'de confront him and even though he had a bat we would surround him take that bat away and beat him bloody.

Cool?

[-] 1 points by MattLHolck (16833) from San Diego, CA 11 years ago

that is a why I feel it is important to have a third party debate in october

create an internet simultaneous debate on the net for 3rd party candidates

[-] 1 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

excellent. good luck. We need it.

[-] 1 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

Definitely. We should have a 3rd party debate at the same time as all 3 pres debates and the 1 VP debate.

[-] 1 points by MattLHolck (16833) from San Diego, CA 11 years ago

if that is manageable

I sent out an email to the organizers of the last debate

[-] 0 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

We get it back by creating our OWN thing, and simply putting them in the backseat. 535 positions are currently being held.

We create something REAL and get only 20% of that, and its game over for corruption.

[-] 0 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

Ok! I'm not against that. How is it going? I haven't heard you discussing any progress. You mentioned Rocky but he ain't gonna win.

Is that the extent of it? Please fill me in. I support a new system, from the ground up. Horizontal, with real direct democracy.

You have spent most of your interaction with me (and others I've seen) attacking efforts to work within the system.

If you spent half as much time on recreating something new it would be done.

[-] 0 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

It is much harder than you think. Believe it or not, people here are at least willing to listen. Half the population doesnt give a fuck at all. Another 25% are fine with ignoring all the politics for 3 yrs and 364 days and then going and pulling the R or L side.

The other 25%, about half are down for new things, but finding time is very very hard, because these people are usually pretty proactive and have a lot going on.

Not everythign is about winning. I get no pride in winning in this perverse scenario. Because in reality, its a net loss for all of us.

Be careful of direct democracy, it can be a detriment to those who are not as educated and minority groups. Unless you go to a libertarian/anarchy/decentralized model, so if people dont like the rules they can move around to different parts.

[-] 2 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

So then you agree we should focus on those who are not registered, & those who are registered but don't vote because they are fed up?

[-] 1 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

well in terms of your percentages, I think 60% of the electorate votes so are we targeting anyone amongs that group.

Is there some plan to bring them in? If not do we have a plan for the 40% of the electorate that doesn't vote. Do we know who THEY are. I think focusing on those people is our best bet.

What do you think?

[-] 1 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

30% of the total population is not registered to vote. The 08 race was around 54% of registered voters voted.

I've stated this on other posts before, the reasons they dont vote. Its a mix of distrust and apathy. Around 50/50. A very large group will just not participate in a two party clown show. They see through it.
