Forum Post: Sopa and Protect IP

Is anyone talking about this or taking it seriously? This is a change for the movement to actually do something specific and important the stops the US Government from taking away free speech. If this passes sites like this one will go down and any future sites are in danger. Movements like Occupy Wall Street can't happen if the sites are blocked.

You have the media's attention. Use it.

Subject: Stop internet censorship!

Dear Friend,

The Senate is poised to vote on a bill that would end the internet as we know it.

If it passes, the "Protect IP Act" would give corporate copyright holders the authority to demand that the government shut down any website without a court order. All they would need is to allege that the website contains copyrighted material.

This bill has been rushed through Congress because big corporate interests like Comcast, Pfizer, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce have spent millions of dollars lobbying for this censoring legislation.

I told my senators to protect our free and open internet and oppose the Protect IP Act. You should do the same. You can sign the petition at the link below.

http://act.credoaction.com/campaign/internet_censorship/?r_by=31902-2743810-kYN81qx&rc=paste1 .

.

I'll be posting in the Forum an Action Alert from Credo with their letter which has more info, and I will edit this comment when done, with a link

Done and Tweeted.

We have the opportunity as well as the responsibility. People make use of any worthy petition that comes your way. Speak out.

No one can stop internet freedom. we will just use servers outside of the USA's influence. look on this web page http://tinyurl.com/6lkzgbk please notice that the same data is spread over 10 different servers- and those servers are distributed across the globe- no one can take all of them down. then go to the tab security--

Who cares? If they blocked the net we'll print our own newspaper...

The biggest supporters of SOPA & Protect ID are ofcourse Hollywood, The Music Industry, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. In addition to this list of companies that support these bills. Please see these links, ignore the title of the first one. http://theoriesofconspiracy.com/2011/11/list-of-major-companies-supporting-sopa.htm Even NBC supports SOPA and demands their that their partners support it as well.http://www.webpronews.com/nbc-wants-partners-to-support-sopa-or-else-2011-11

We need to keep with the petitions/campaigns, meltdown the Congress phone lines, and engage in mass protesting in front of Congress and in other strategic places. I also think there should be mass boycotts of Hollywood, the Music Industry, and NBC. Hit them where it hurts. We have power--don't forget it. The American people need to fight this or else goodbye freedom!

The use of data is modern free enterprises' windfall. We just keep sending them money to help them get more.

The Senate Bill 968, "Protect IP Act" is located here: http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/getdoc.cgi?dbname=112_cong_bills&docid=f:s968is.pdf

The House Resolution 3261, "Stop Online Piracy Act" is located here: http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/getdoc.cgi?dbname=112_cong_bills&docid=f:h3261ih.pdf

It is useful to read these in advance of considering a petition in favor or in opposition.

Soon websites WILL be shut down. Just a matter of days. Then you will have to use the good old way of communicating and cell phones will be cut off also. Now all looks good but in seconds the switch will be turned off. They are monitoring it all and are prepared for real revolution. Current Occupy movements is nothing and just a hollow hole in void space with no real value.

2012 will bring chaos but this is probably a false flag and 2013 is more likely to be the year where doom is realized.

What is The Occupy movement producing in value? it is spending millions of Dollars on webhosting worldwide using cell phone time and all the money is going to the 1%. The production of words has been done before the problem is that most people have never read a book besides donald duck. Had they, we would never have had problems like we have now.
