Forum Post: Path to revolutionary change, already being walked.

What follows is my reply to a particular persistent voting advocate, who claimed my stating that, voting in this current system is a wast of energy, some how meant I have no hope;

You really are a simpleton VQkag2, we have been through this a number of times now, you and I, but I guess you have the attention span of a gnat. I support a great many useful and positive things, that I actively encourage people to get INVOLVED in, that will bring about revolutionary change, submissive voting for our corporate ruler's next PR man just ain't one of them! The only choice on offer in that system is more of the same!

I support making change in your own life, and then sharing this information with others. Your constant badgering everyone to vote is base, degrading, and not at all useful. You do this in place of actually making change in your own life, I suspect.

Learn about and understand Permaculture; this is a holistic system of integrating human communities back into balance with the natural systems of the world. It works for a single person/family all the way up to a large community (eco-village), and a network of interconnected regions. This is in opposition to the corporate mono-crop, Roundup(TM) /GMO, burn-the-soil-to-death to produce large amounts of food quickly using petrol-chemical 'fertilizers' system, that is leaving dead degraded earth and corrupted natural environments.

Instead we support simple organic and life affirming human powered farming in place of the corporate destruction that will fail when the oil is over. Use the investment strategies pioneered by the Slowmoney movement; get your savings out of corporate control, invest in local permaculture/organic food production, or any democratic, socially useful, positive co-op or buisness in your local community or region. This is all tied in with the Relocalize movement that is promoting making these necessary adjustments to improve life for all, getting ahead of the inevitable decline in cheap oil, and therefor the cheap energy we enjoy (destructively abuse) now. Learn and understand what the Degrowth movement is studying and strategizing around. Infinite growth on a finite planet is a dead-end, and a vast dismal failure. The very concept of capitalism is based on the wrong-minded idea of infinite wealth growth from a finite resource base, an impossibly.

Anyway, if you could use both your brain cells at once, you could possible come to realize that revolutionary change does not come from asking the owners for more gruel,. . We have to do this ourselves, some of us are already working on it. Get involved in building a future not spamming for submission to the bankers, generals, and corporate oligarchs that only have power as long as you give it to them! There is nothing revolutionary about voting. Especially in a corrupt system of human oppression, devised for wealth transfer to the 1% from the rest of us.

As you can see I have more than hope, (hope is not a plan!) I have personal involvement in several world wide movements that are currently making revolutionary change now! Not some voting in of a hypothetical "good" representative that will do the work for me.

( please research these ideas and movements for yourself, no one can do it for you, you have to walk the path to revolutionary change so that we may all live a more peaceful and satisfying existence, peace )

Che Guevara once wrote revolution is not necessarily about changing out a government, but revolution is about changing the thinking of man.

Good post, now only if others would read....

yes, I fully agree; it is our culture and the thinking that rise from it that create the problems we are facing. We can easily change culture by supporting good and useful developments while removing our support from destructive ones.

But why does he have to include all the mean spirited, nasty offensive insults against me? I think it takes away from the good organizations he is promoting. (rarely promotes I should say).

And If he believes these orgs are the way to revolution, and that thechange within us 1st is the path to real change why hasn't he come across the concept of treating people with respect instead of abuse? I mean the people I meet at the organic farmers market, cooperative orgs (similar to his suggestions) are all progressive non violent decent people who would never stoop to putting others down to lift themselves up.

Finally why can't he promote this reasonable, valuable, approach without the crusade to get people to give up their right to vote? Seems to me you can do both. I don't think these organizations refuse members who vote. Doesn't make sense I don't buy it.

And his overwhelming focus on convincing OWS supporters to give up their right to vote rather than devoting equal (really more) energy to the excellent organizations he pretends to support indicates his priority is getting OWS supporters to give up their right to vote.

Definitely investigate the orgs he has listed, they sound great. But it is unrelated to your right to vote. And you can check out these organizations without putting people down.

Please don't respond on this post as I don't prefer having the nasty offensive attacks against me bumped to the top again. Private message me if you like.

Thank you, Peace, Good luck

Oh please, VQkeg2 you act like you are not the one that started by insulting me, the facts are in the posts. (the ones you have not edited ;) ) Even here you put words in my mouth, and attribute intentions to me, that are in no way remotely related to me or my intent. Do you not see that it angers people to have their views misrepresent in a childish manner as you do? Yes I will continue to post about this silly idea that voting can change this military/bankster system, it can not.

I simply posted my opinions, that voting is a trick used by the 1% to give the people the illusion of control, or even participation in the running of this system we are forced to live under. You fail to see this, sorry for you. By it is you that continues to attack me personally, with misrepresentations, and anger. I never said 'don't vote', or 'give up your right to vote' I merely point out, that if you think that voting is revolutionary, or will 'fix things', you are sadly deluded.

You continue to wrongly call me 'defeatist' and 'negative' simply because I do not support your misguided attempts to keep people hoping that change will come from participation in this broken system of control,. it will not, only your submission to the authority of the sate, the corporate rulers, and the 1%.

If you really do want change, you will stop promoting a silly fairy-tale, that giving your power to 'representatives' will do this work for us. We must do the work ourselves, we have to make the change. It does not come from the one single act of voting. Some 'leader' will not make it happen for us. We must become the change we want to see in the world.
