Forum Post: Now that jart and the Twinkle Team are gone, let me be your leader...

Posted 9 years ago on Sept. 19, 2014, 7:13 p.m. EST by anarkette (24) from Boston, MA
This content is user submitted and not an official statement

I will lead this forum into a world of awesomeness. First we shall start by establishing new forum rules. Next we will create a Bridge to the Ground. Next we will modify the forum code so that everyone can moderate the forum how they want for themselves. A place where these is no moderator/user hierarchy. A place where every user is exactly equal in power to other users. No awful shoos-like moderators. No jart that controls all the forum. None of that. Let me lead you to a truly leaderless forum. A forum by the community, for the community.

Wait a minute. You said 'let me be your leader' then go on about no moderator/ user hierarchy. You want to lead to a leaderless forum but that is a conundrum. And when the aliens land and say 'Take me to your leader' that would be YOU. And as such you may be tasty to them. (creepy music intensifying) IT'S A COOKBOOK! hee hee hee....

We are free to express our opinion

reasoning, calculation and logic can also be written in words

As long as our comments have a reply button we can respond.

stop indenting an extended chain of comments

there could always be a reply button

Start your utopian everyone is equal forum.

See how long you can leave it ( the other users - users who are not you ) alone.

Put up - or - Shut up.

Let me lead you to a truly leaderless forum.

Ha ha hahahahahaha...............dope.

Go start your forum. No-one is stopping you.

Go start your forum and come back and post your link with an invite to all who want to check it out.

But.

U won't.

Because - U are nothing but a lot of hot air.

Spew on.

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 9 years ago

Nothing to say?

Or are you trying to think up a reason why you can't start your own "leaderless" forum.

Will you use attack bots on your all new community forum?

How many users will "you" be on your new leaderless forum?

Go ahead.

Create your utopia forum.

And lets see how long you can restrain yourself from interfering with everyone.

Do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it

Seriously-these people want to discuss the entire issue of what happens the day after the Revolution. No agreement on where we start the discussion. If and when you have time will you watch A Radical Blackfoot Teaches the Economics of Globalization on Youtube and post a link for it under Pigeonlady's post about being stymied on S17? It is over an hour long lecture-everybody who wants to start talking about all of these problems needs to understand at least something about the complex nature of the coming debates. The lecture is very enjoyable and can turn people on to a variety of subcategories for more research.I thank my lucky stars&clovers that I have this forum & people like you to help me out.

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 9 years ago

I am watching that Youtube program now = A Radical Blackfoot Teaches the Economics of Globalization

Watching it to the current point - where he is talking about right center and left views - it reminded me of this short article - and I thought you would find it interesting in how it relates to his talk on education and what one will and will not find included in curriculum.

I hope people will watch it-I return to it frequently for the basic concepts. The Radical Blackfoot does a good job explaining the inflexible mechanics of The System.

↥twinkle ↧stinkle permalink

I have watched it a couple of times already. There is a lot of good food for thought/consideration presented in it.

Towards the end - he starts to get into the defining/assigning of purpose of capitalism - a bit. In this he begins to bring up the possibility of redefining/reassigning imperatives - shifting the paradigm.

[-] 2 points by trashyharry (3084) from Waterville, NY 9 years ago

What shall we produce? How shall we create product? Who shall we create product for? We know the answers to these questions when markets rule. What is the answer to How when we put people before profits?

Exactly - " What is the answer to How when we put people before profits? "

That is where he started to go towards the end of the presentation.

Changing the driving principles of capitalism - replace profit driven imperative - with - perhaps - a health driven imperative?

[-] 3 points by trashyharry (3084) from Waterville, NY 9 years ago

Capitalism craves and promotes unemployment. The more unemployment, the better it works.Until now,the levels of unemployment were no threat to them, they just continually keep pushing wages down, steal wages outright, and put the profit from all that in their pockets.Continuing the race to the bottom will put them in harm's way-for sure.I don't think they can stop-but we are at or very near Rockbottom right now.WhiskeyTangoFoxtrot?

[-] 2 points by BradB (2693) from Washington, DC 9 years ago

|| Changing the driving principles of capitalism - replace profit driven imperative - with - perhaps - a health driven imperative?

absolutely ... the only answer... and becoming the widely accepted answer ... a new Capitalism based on Social Wealths ... as opposed to monetary wealth

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 9 years ago

Stop that - I am still scraping my ears when walking through doorways.

BTW - a good program - I put it on it's own post.

Post the link on Pigeonlady's post - I am currently watching some of the coverage on the climate march on a link provided by 99nproud = http://www.democracynow.org/live/peoples_climate_march.

Very inspiring/hopeful.

[-] 2 points by trashyharry (3084) from Waterville, NY 9 years ago

I was just watching Amy.She is in ecstasy with all those Celebrities. She can be annoying.but I LUV that little smirk she produces whenever something bad happens to a Billionaire or a Corporation. The video I asked you to watch is very worthwhile, but I want you to check it out if and when you have time.If you don't get around to it,I won't get all freakin' offended or anything like that.I'm not into Personalities, generally speaking. The prime directive in my view is-don't take things personally. So if you are not inclined to watch The Radical Blackfoot, don't do it.I hate when people pressure me to do stuff,so I don't do it.

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 9 years ago

I will watch the link - just put it where I can find it ( please ) - putting it on Pigeonlady's post - would seem to be a good location - we need food ( good food ) for thought and for dissemination out to others - and so the post where we look to provide substance as to actions that need to happen - actions that involve the population/public to push the changes we need - would be a good place to place the link you found. I also asked 99 to place his collection of links on the climate march onto a post of it's own - so that it is all in one easy access location - a location that can be copied and shared out for others to see and explore - also like Pigeonlady's post and any other good post and collection of informational links.

That could very well be a major understatement - when one considers the estimated trillions of toxic product that is still in the market after the initial meltdown - toxic product that was never dealt with and has been added to in the following years since.

I also like the way you say that your forum will be open to everyone.

But who is everyone?

I ask as I noticed in your frequent comments ( posing as one user or another ) that you have admitted to your own program of censorship on "this" forum.

So apparently - you have failed in your purpose ( of a completely open forum ) already - as you can't even support/follow your own professed ideology.

The closer Jart gets to becoming a member of the 1%, the less offended she is with the exploitation of the 99%.

[-] 3 points by jart (1186) from New York, NY 9 years ago

Nope. I think corporations need to stop abusing this nation and its people.

[-] 3 points by Renneye (3874) 9 years ago

Hello jart. I'd like to ask you straight on...are you going to open the sign-up page to the 99% again? If so...when?

[-] 5 points by jart (1186) from New York, NY 9 years ago

Ok. I reenabled it. Although I might have to close it down again if we get nailed with a tidal wave of sockpuppets.

[-] 2 points by struggleforfreedom80 (6584) 9 years ago

How about if you have it open one day every month. That way new users can eventually create accounts, and if they turn out to be douchebags, they'll get banned, and have to wait a whole month to get access. Less trolls, and new people can eventually sign in..

[-] 2 points by Renneye (3874) 9 years ago

That's great! Thanks jart.

Perhaps a safeguard could be worked on and put in place preemptively...so if it happens again, the 99% don't have to get shut out of these very important discussions in the attempt to stop a few rotten apples.

I wish I were tech savvy, I'd help you do it in a heartbeat. BradB has mentioned some ideas, I think. Like 1 username per IP address, or something. I don't know. Maybe others have ideas as well.

Anyway, I think I may speak for many here when I say that I'm so very glad the 99% can take part in the discussions again.

[-] 2 points by grapes (5232) 9 years ago

Some people may not be privy to the pressures of NYC living, or USA living. Many overseas see the power of the USA but not its origin from the pressure cooker system. NYC is more like the nuclear core, much hotter than steam. Figuratively speaking, if you touch your hand to the wall of the tall or ornate corporate towers in NYC, it comes off dripping with human blood. Wall Street is more like Slaughterhouse Alley where there is a canal of blood. The Wall Street Bull is actually a decoy to attract the cows in heat for the slaughter.

[-] 4 points by trashyharry (3084) from Waterville, NY 9 years ago

A person who makes 100k before taxes in NYC has to be careful. At that income level a person is by no means secure unless they have rich parents. Some people who have rich parents REFUSE to go to their parents for money. That is more common than most people probably think.People in Jart's age group have not had time to build up a six figure bank account-no way.The idea that the road to affluence is easy once you get in the fast lane with the right job is an old fable that is promoted by the 1% to make people feel like they are not educated enough, not working hard enough,&c.,it has almost no relationship to reality in the current economic environment.

[-] 2 points by grapes (5232) 9 years ago

"Someone" installed speed bumps and speed traps on the fast lanes. By directing the blame of inadequacies back at the individuals, the anger is internalized and controlled but it chews them up to make them "dead and living in New York." The system needs fixing.

The picture won't leave your mind once it gets in,will it? Now you are experiencing the diabolical power of Art.Shadz-I cried a million tears and lost 100k one way or another in pursuit of that power. Now,I have it.I control the Vertical.I control the Horizontal.Color,Contrast,Saturation,Resolution-all of it.If I create an image,it will be one you can't forget no matter how bad you want to.And I can do it with words only,or even just with my own body.Art is deception-and manipulation. As a weapon,it can be devastating.Art is slippery, deceptive, and manipulative. That is why it is so important for the power of Art to NOT fall into the wrong hands. It has-and that is a failure of artists and art schools, who sold out completely to the corporations by the 70's,when I was a child who wasn't careful what I wished for.Soon I will seek to use the power of Art to help Occupy. Many artists were around at first-now they are all gone except me and perhaps a few others. They are gone because they were Barnacles looking for a Boat that might be going places. They thought Occupy might be that boat, that would help their career. Now they are trying to attach themselves to something else,to promote their careers.I wish them good luck in their endeavors! LOL-LMAO!
