Happy Birthday, Occupy Wall Street! Never give up!
Solidarity to all people, everywhere, fighting economic injustice!
Yes OWS never give up, even though there was only 78 at the anniversary, stay strong
You wish. Loser.
'Right-Wing Shill & Corporate Stooge' - can you corroborate your comment ?! Can u fuk !! Cos it's BS !
veritas vos liberabit ...
I saw thousands each of the 3 days. And I was there! I would have preferred bigger numbers like the past but there were protests in many city as well so the rumors of our death are premature.
Wishful thinking on your part I think.
I think all the police violence over the past year has had the affect that the tyrants wanted which was to scare a good amount of people away from protesting. Doesn't mean those same people are not still with us.
I think you are correct. I think also in conjunction with the 1% (like the police) the MSM has played down or outright maligned the movement. No honest reporting.
The election could be drawing people away as well.
OWS also has some problems that MUST be worked out, not least of which is to embrace a two prong approach to accomplish change. 1- radical outside the sys, & 2 reform inside the system.
We must stop fighting amongst ourselves over these basic approaches.
We need each other, it is the only way. We must embrace tolerance, inclusiveness, diversity of tactics without framing each as a threat to the other.
It's counter productive.
Oh, definitely, the MSM has barely covered the movement. We all know who they are bought and paid for by. Good point.
bastards! Break up the media conglomerates along with the banks!
I read many of your comments today. Are you the youngest user on this site? Does you dad post here as well?
What does my personal life have to do with anything? It is inappropriate for you to seek out my personal information.
Is that some slur that I am young and immature? Or young and naive? Or young and uneducated?
You got an important issue to weigh in on.? I will stand toe to toe with your insulting, small minded. sorry ass!
Let's hear it. You got something of substance? Anything? No.? Then go back to attacking DK like you do everyday. I got no patience for your divisive childishness.
Homie don't play 'dat!
Who's DK? I haven't seen a user by that name.
I was just wondering. Just questions. I didn't mean to imply anything. You can calm down. I saw a poster that reminded me of you and I thought he might have been your father. That's all.
Liar. You were talkin to DK earlier. And you saw no poster that reminded you of me.
Keep your lies to yourself.
Homie don't play 'dat either!
Do you mean DKAtoday? I haven't seen or interacted with a user called DK. The user that reminded me of you was DKAtoday. Is he your father?
What does my personal like have to do with anything.? It is inappropriate for you to seek out my personal information.
You got an important issue to weigh in on.? I will stand toe to toe with your insulting, small minded. sorry ass!

Homie don't play 'dat!
You repeat yourself like a young teenager and you write like one too. I thought it was a good example for all of us to have a teenager on this forum. I congratulate DKAtoday for bringing you here if he is indeed your father. I assume he is since you did not repudiate my prior guess.
"repeat/write like....teenager"? insults? you have nothing of substance? You come here to find people you disagree with so you can abuse, and offend them.
You are only trying to be divisive?
My father is dead. Why would you insult my father like this. Don't you have any morals.
This is a serious site. I come here to debate in a civil respectful way. Please stop harrassing me!
It’s now been a year since the first occupiers started Occupy Wall St. They lit a spark; they addressed something that has been lying beneath the surface in huge parts of the population: corporate greed and dominance. These first occupiers started a movement that eventually spread to numerous cities in the U.S. and eventually around the world; a movement which brought attention to things that are sorely needed right now: solidarity and justice.
So what’s been accomplished so far? The critics – the right-wing corporate media and the rest of them – will say “not much”. Well, that’s not true.
The Occupy Movement has contributed substantially to getting many important issues on the agenda. Things like inequality and corporate greed and dominance are now being discussed and talked about like never before. Also great names on the left like Noam Chomsky, Michael Moore and Naomi Klein have contributed and endorsed this movement.
Secondly, the movement has created optimism and increased engagement and organizing. By shedding light on something that have been oppressed for a long time, but which are just basic human characteristics: feelings of solidarity and the care for others, The Occupy Movement has brought people together in the common struggle for a more free, just and democratic society. By basing the organizing on non-hierarchical structure, solidarity and cooperation, the foundation is set for a popular movement eventually becoming a major force in society.
We also have to remember the long term perspective. It has just been a year; this movement is still young. The Occupy Movement is mainly in the organizing and growing stages now, the more who join and organize, the more will get achieved in terms of policies. Not even the most radical, impatient occupier thought that the struggle for a more free and democratic society would be easy and short. Wealth and power are very highly concentrated, and the corporate propaganda-machine has unfortunately been successful in many cases. It’s going to take time and hard work to dismantle this unsustainable system we have today.
One year has gone by, and it has been fantastic to see this movement come into existence and grow these twelve months. This movement is about the short term goals as well as the long term goals; this is just the beginning of a long hard struggle for freedom. What the future brings no one knows, but one thing’s for sure: The fight for a more free, just and democratic society will go on.
The Revolution Continues worldwide…for as long as necessary!

Can you post any video from this dramatic event, Shadz?
Gotta keep the fire burning.
It was happening real time, so sorry that I could NOT have linked to any recorded video. There will be video clips available later I presume & any and all 'LiveStreaming' goes on here :
Also see the second from the left tab at the top 'functions' bar below the mast head. I spent ~7am to midnight (EST) with OWS #S17 on 'LiveStream', only spending a couple of hours off. It was a privilege, honour and joy & I doubt that I will ever forget it. I came to this forum via 'LiveStream' when someone there said 'go try the forum'.
SOLIDARITY & 'on yer mate' ;-)

A link posted here for Donation to the OWS Bail Fund would be very useful.
The OWS Bail Fund is very healthy.
Awesome - just never hurts to keep a good fund in mind - Hey?
Please go out and occupy if able. I know not everyone lives near populated occupy area's, just do what you can.KEEP THIS ALIVE. Also work together, get in massive groups. There is no reason for you to be in small groups, apically in the city. Work together in numbers. Pull each-other back from being arrested, use your numbers. I know everyone wishes to be peaceful. Time will tell if that approach works.
Links to the street on social media - I love it - share and circulate people.

Occupy Wall Street Celebrates 1st Anniversary with 181 Arrests
If it scares the elite, it works. Regardless to it seeming like a minor nuisance to the average person, closing the WS entrances (all of them, if possible) for even a few minutes causes the banksters huge losses. That's why they arrested 150 people. That means we're in a good way.
Happy Birthday OWS and all occupy affinity groups. The inspiration I felt for today finally got me down to the credit union - yes I finally got my account in a community supporting credit union. Down with corrupt and illegally operating mega-monster wallstreet banks.
I'm excited about #S17, and I wish I could be there. To try to help where I can, I've put together a few visuals, including one called "What's Wrong With Wall Street, In One Sentence."

What other stats/quotes do you think would be key to add?
If you're not out in the street, how can you say you really support Occupy? It just takes a simple message on a piece of cardboard where everyone can see it.
Fook Yes!
Are you happy now?
Fook Yes.
Happy Aniversary OWS.
Happy Day to the occupiers.
Looks like you will get some attention again.
Still, not seeing much in MSM at the moment.
They're having a big news black out.
From a Bridge Near you to the ground to the Future.
Long Live Freedom and Speech.
Corporations are not people. Government is for the people.
Yes. It does make me very happy.
