I noticed that your cartoon showing how to prepare for the reoccupation only represents a male. Unfortunately this left me wondering why a female cartoon was not also depicted. I would hope that OWS pays strict attention to this matter because overcoming anti-woman prejudice seems to be one of the most difficult forms of racism to overcome.

FUCK the ows !!

A groupo run by professional agitators paid for by Soros through the Tides foundation. Soros wants to destroy America, so he and fellow Jews can make billions on the stock market.

[-] 2 points by gratefulsteve (11) 12 years ago

Still confused...Is OWS still planning to try and occupy the Trinity Lot? Or will they stay on the city park land?

[-] 2 points by isupportoccupywallstreet (38) 12 years ago

sounds great!!!!!!!!! we need people to show up in HUGE numbers! keep the movement going!

[-] 2 points by judy (61) 12 years ago

I really like the graphic design for this event!

[-] 2 points by FreedomIn2012 (-36) from Hempstead, NY 12 years ago

Again, its all about the movement, not the movement's point. Yes, this will be fun, but accomplishes nothing... Great photo op though...

[-] 3 points by Kraus (19) 12 years ago

What are you talking about? They'll have puppets!

[-] 1 points by occupywallst0org (14) 12 years ago

here is one BIG thing about the movement see more here: http://alex11.wikidot.com/comcomize-the-occupy-movements ...... "comcomizing" the "occupy" movements by making common companies of which "peer owners" are the movement's supporters,

where each company provides services to the movement's activists, including"things" like cars, rooms, boats :), social platform, journal/radio/tv channels, food/energy producers/distributors, insurance companies, banks and/or lobbies assisting in fighting for the activists causes, and
where the company's objectives are (in several year to come) creating its new market of the 99%, as its peer owners are to become the costumers of the comcoms.
The company's promotions are the activists' protests
The company's profit is planed to the future (say for the next 5,10 years) based on creating its market by providing its service

Does anybody care? Please sign and share the petition. The clock is ticking.

PLEASE read this article (http://exm.nr/v8VFLs) and then SIGN the petition (http://wh.gov/D3J) located on the White House's "WE the PEOPLE" website to stop foreclosures on mortgages made to individual homeowners belonging to the bottom 99%. Also, please help this go viral! It needs 150 signatures to be publicly visible on the site, and 25,000 by January 2, 2012 to be guaranteed a response.

Stopping foreclosures is not a bailout. It is a consumer protection. It can be structured in the form of a forbearance so people don't accrue massive fines, legal fees, and credit problems. Payment on existing debt and interest is postponed, extending the life of the mortgage, and resumed once the person is gainfully employed, or once the person decides for himself to sell (rather than having his home stolen by his mortgage holder). No good can come to a society that throws people hit by hard times on the street. This will make it ever more difficult for people and their families to recover, and then they will become a permanent welfare problem.

Stop foreclosures on mortgages made to individual homeowners belonging to the bottom 99%.

What is your issue with the pipeline?

[-] 3 points by ZenDogTroll (13032) from South Burlington, VT 12 years ago

I dunno . . . . I mean . . . I have laid an awful lot of pipe in my day.

and to be quite honest, I have not examined this particular project in depth.

The fact is the oil industry has been engaged in a campaign of disinformation regarding global warming for years. If you look the destruction wrought on the Nigerian Delta, and the Nigerian political system, all in the interest of global demand for oil - this in itself is a dire warning to the whole world.

the project is huge, expensive, the temptation to cut corners evident in the way the State Dept handed out the environmental impact study.

And we cannot get to a place where our energy policy is based on science - it is rather based on the needs of an industry that is already past peak and in decline. Were this not so, these tar sands would not likely be in development now.

So while I may not be up to speed on the particulars of this project itself, I am well aware that the industry as a whole has dictated policy based on its own needs rather than the good of the public -

  • and the fuckers don't even pay tax.

Shall we examine how the Native Canadians feel about this project? They are the ones most closely affected - so far - and may be a clear indicator of what the rest of us may expect at oil industry hands in the future.

[-] 1 points by deddancer (1) 12 years ago

Keystone will be tar sands crude, much more caustic than regular crude, and runs across Ogallala Aquifer, one of the largest reserves of fresh water in the world and the major water source for 8 states on its way down to refineries in south Texas. .. the option for Canada is to run it across their country to port and ship to states which would run across more of their aquifers & river headwaters than ours. You might want to check theoildrum.com for more info from a technical side esp if you already worked pipelines.

[-] 1 points by ZenDogTroll (13032) from South Burlington, VT 12 years ago

I've laid pipe, it's true, miles of it - water and sewer, nothing bigger than 12 inch and nothing like this project.

thanks for the link though.

lets see . . .

I wonder if when the Hoover Dam was being considered if there were as many cry babies as now. This is a pipe, a long containment device to transport oil from one place to another - no big deal. Canada has already stated if we don't want it, the oil will go to China where there is no such thing as enviromental concerns - keep fighting greenies for things you know nothing about.

"And the great owners, who must lose their land in an upheaval, the great owners with access to history, with eyes to read history and to know the great fact: when property accumulates in too few hands it is taken away. And that companion fact: when a majority of the people are hungry and cold they will take by force what they need. And the little screaming fact that sounds through all history: repression works only to strengthen and knit the repressed." - John Steinbeck, The Grapes of Wrath

the video of 2.0 is is not an accurate depiction of what happened that day. im embarrassed to say the protestors baited the cops and destroyed property. i was devastated.

Ipod...enjoy capitalism.

[-] 1 points by torped (4) 12 years ago

Ipod and clothing brought to you by capitalism. Enjoy the benefits of the mass markets.

[-] 1 points by isupportoccupywallstreet (38) 12 years ago

umm, did this even happen?? was Lou Reed there at 2pm?? i haven't seen any video of it, been looking. OWS is good at saying things that will happen, but very little of it actually happens lately and then it's on to the next thing. when you cry wolf too much, no one pays attention anymore. we need to focus and get back to fighting for the 99%! Separation of corporation and state!

[-] 1 points by r4re (1) 12 years ago

FreedomIn2012 and friends - did you ever heard about Provos? And Hakim Bey? Doing it - resisting, occupying, being desobedient, not consuming what others tell us to consume - all this is already the revolution.

All this movement are at this point changing the mind of thousands of thousands of people, and getting them to another step of consciousness, and filling them with energy fot the next steps, that are still obscured by the mist of the unknown.

[-] 1 points by stanchaz (36) from Brooklyn, NY 12 years ago

You do not even need to be religious to understand -and embrace- the idea that "Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." In their blind greed and schemes, the 1% has forgotten and closed their eyes to what the word "society" should really mean. But because of Occupy Wall Street and its offshoots, we are finally talking less about CUTS and more about BLEEDING. Instead of demanding more budget cuts -to be borne by the middle class and poor- we are FINALLY focusing on the shameful bleeding that the poor and middle class has endured for all too long. Instead of talking about even more cuts in the taxes of millionaires...we are now talking about fairness and justice - about an economy and a political system that is run for the rich, and by the rich. Instead of talking about LESS government, we are talking about a government that WORKS FOR ALL OF US, not just a favored few. Thank you OWS, for reminding us that people -ordinary working people- really DO matter, and for helping open our eyes to what’s really going on in this country. It's time, Trinity Church, to do the right thing...it's time ..to step up and help OWS!

Why should everyone listen to the same radio station while occupying? This sounds horribly UN-democratic.

One of the main problems with the Fox News-led Right is that they all parrot the same the message they get from their media source. WBAI may not be Fox, but this is the same approach.

[-] 1 points by xyzzy (13) 12 years ago

When you listen to the broadcast over radio and the internet, they are not going to be synchronized. It won't be amplification. It will be a bloody mess.

[-] 1 points by 11jamespevanhoe (3) 12 years ago

t is also extremely important that all public rallies, protests, etc. are video, filmed from all angles and from a distance. This will record ex actually what the authorities: City County State and the Feds: including homeland security the fbi and military spy agencies are doing. It would be smart to start identifying those agencies at rallies, protests and conferences, because believe me they are there. They most likely are inside Occupy Wall Street some where. It is also important to know this: IF the government is will to go to War and kill 600,000 Iraqis on completely false information, documents and testimony such as Collin Powell testimony to the UN, the fact the US Military has allowed 1,000's of tons of Heroin worth billions to be shipped out of Afghanistan over the last 10yr. And the fact HSBC bank and the Bush and Obama Administration have allowed that bank HSBC and Wacovia to launder 100's of billions of dollars of drug cartel monies world wide for over 30 years and the fact there has not been ONE criminal conviction for Wall Street Financial Terrorism on the American People, believe me the Democrats under Obama and the Republicans will in the ended do anything to discredit Occupy Wall Street, because OWS mains goal is to STOP PUBLIC CORRUPTION, end Wall Street Financial Terrorism, end Bush=NSBCBank=DrugCartel Terrorism of our families, neighborhoods, our Nation and our future. Support Occupy Wall Street and and the conviction to prosecute and imprison Public Corrupt where by Obama your state or local authorities. Public Corruption is the USA's #1 Criminal Problem for our Society. JAMES P. EVANHOE

Please consider supporting Bernie Sanders Constitutional Amendment. This amendment will repeal corporate personhood.

Sen. Bernie Sanders has proposed a constitutional amendment that would overturn the Supreme Court decision in a case called Citizens United vs. FEC.

The Saving American Democracy Amendment states that:

Corporations are not persons with constitutional rights equal to real people. Corporations are subject to regulation by the people. Corporations may not make campaign contributions or expenditures. Congress and states have the power to regulate campaign finances.

Here is a link to co-sign Senator Sanders bill. http://sanders.senate.gov/petition/?uid=f1c2660f-54b9-4193-86a4-ec2c39342c6c

Yep, you regulate private companies by not buying products like the iPod to listen to propaganda that should have died with the fall of the wall.

What happened to Jackson Browne, Crosby & Nash, Third Eye Blind and the rest?

[-] 0 points by zucnei (103) 12 years ago

So - just so we know - when this site says several thousand people will be showing up for performances and speeches from faith leaders and activists what that really means to that a few hundred people will be showing up to hold radios while other people perform at a totally different location? Like to re-enact "Say Anything" or something? I heard John Cusack was sympathetic but I did not realize a full on tribute was in order.

Do you not get why some fence sitters are not totally buying this yet?
