By John Liming: http://thelimingview.blogspot.com/

I hear that old familiar refrain from a chorus of thousands of hopeful voices, rising in unison against the storm clouds of what seems like hopeless opposition: "We shall overcome, We shall overcome...some sweet day."

Now the sound of change is once again in the air and it is being felt all over the Land and all around the world.

With prayers and chants and the beat of tambourine and drum; with marching feet and grim determination...the new generation of hopefuls is marching against the tides of oppressive need, want and fear once again.

The new surge of populist displeasure with the greed mongers of the rich and powerful moneyed elites is spreading like a slow-burning fire and is capturing the attention, the imagination and the support of millions of people sympathetic to causes for Justice all over the Globe.

The nightsticks and the pepper spray have come out once again and there is the sound of agonized screams and the dread "Thud" of weapon against defenseless flesh as the faithful protectors and servers of The Over Lords do their thing.

Blood streams down the face of a young protester who has done nothing more than try to exercise his First Amendment Rights. For this brazen act of "Terrorism" against the mighty fortress of corporate greed and excessive, obscene wealth in America, he has received a crack up against the side of his head from a police baton.

The mindless pundits of the far Right Wing Radical Religious Extreme appear on their radio and TV shows to decry the pleas of a new gang of "Union Thugs, Filthy Communists, Dirty Hippies, Dangerous Nazis" and to remind whoever will listen that military-strength pepper spray is nothing more than a by-product of "Food."

The "New Gang" of course, is composed of the dispossessed and the unemployed and the deprived who are suffering because the wealthiest 1% of the population have shipped their jobs offshore, have allowed mighty lending conglomerates to cast them out of their homes and a hundred and one other injustices that cry from the dust of eternal outrage to be corrected.

The 99% that the Far Right Radicalized Extremists in America despise so much are simply most likely you and me. They are the ones who have not accumulated the status of millionaire or billionaire of even "Wealthy." But they are the victims of the excesses of that 1% and they are tired of getting the short end of the stick because of what some of them consider to be a form of gross criminality in the manipulation of our government and our financial structures.

So, they have begun the inevitable march toward Justice that we have seen before in America when things get so far out of balance that great masses suffer. The sleeping Tiger of The American Spirit has begun to awaken in the hearts of the "Little Guy" once more. It has always been a powerful and unstoppable force for change. It will be once again! Change is the nature of the beast.

God protect and preserve the protesters and their allies against the forces of darkness and evil that would consume them and let the pure light of Love and Compassion spring eternal in their cause for Truth, Justice and The American Way.

My prayer today is that those fattened arrogant who sit upon their ivory-towered pedestals of judgement against the masses of those seeking a simple taste of Justice and reparation for what has been stolen from them either take the hand of those in need and share in their dream or that if is not to be, then somehow these same callous souls might somehow come down to the level where they too understand the need for mercy and kindness. Is that too much to ask of Destiny?

The mockers of the Occupy People should take due notice: The Eye of The Lord is always over the oppressed and He hears their cries of anguish!

There were these kinds of protests before-- back in the 60s and they changed the temper and the nature of Life in America forever. This current movement is no less a potential power and those who choose to stand against the tides of change ought to think twice before they make harsh judgements and call vile names.

A group of people can be dispersed with the violent actions of The Big, The Brave and The Blue (Police)(Troops), but an "Idea," once born cannot ever be vanquished.

This has been strictly my own opinion.

Capitalism requires consumption in order to be sustainable. In a sort of balanced system of numbers between the haves and have-nots it can flourish. It is really a strange economic system because eventually the population of the have-nots becomes so extreme that there is not enough people who have the resources to consume. And without consumption the system fails. I have no idea if the United States is at that point, but I suspect it is close. Eventually people (the have nots) reach a high enough level of social inequality that they remove the haves. This is sort of what happened in France (the French Revolution).

"The absolute monarchy that had ruled France for centuries collapsed in three years. French society underwent an epic transformation as feudal, aristocratic and religious privileges evaporated under a sustained assault from radical left-wing political groups, masses on the streets, and peasants in the countryside. Old ideas about tradition and hierarchy - of monarchy, aristocracy and religious authority - were abruptly overthrown by new Enlightenment principles of equality, citizenship and inalienable rights." Wikipedia

I have no doubt that it will eventually happen in the United States. It is not a question of "if" but rather "when".

Though yet may the hawk soar, so shall the dove nest among the pines. Timeless truth, even today!

[-] 2 points by arealpolitik (154) 12 years ago

By spring OWS will morph into a truly united movement. They will march on Washington and demand the changes needed to protect America.

[-] 2 points by barb (835) 12 years ago

OWS will be known as the first movement to bring awareness to the public and other movements will be born and grow from the roots of this movement as solutions begin to surface in so many areas that need to be restructured in our society.

[-] 1 points by kenyaudia (5) 12 years ago

you will win activism have overthrown goverments world wide forget businesses .....

[-] 1 points by RedJazz43 (2757) 12 years ago

Maybe, maybe not. Who knows? Nobody can predict the future successfully. The important thing is to be part of the struggle.

[-] 0 points by qazxsw123 (238) 12 years ago

Maybe. It could (win someday), for example, by starting to help out with Elizabeth Warren's race. She, after all, is fighting the same nemesis: Wall Street.

How about firing ideas about how to help her as a David against Goliath (the US Chamber of Commerce supporting Scott Brown)? Crowd canvassing for example if not money?

It doesn't have to be an endorsement, but it could be like helping together a well worth underdog.

Please, people, action is needed, now not later!

"The mockers of the Occupy People should take due notice: The Eye of The Lord is always over the oppressed and He hears their cries of anguish!"

I think you're referring to the lazy hippies openly defying a society built on capitalism and free markets. Are they really oppressed? Maybe if these "occupiers" learned the harsh reality of the job market in that it requires people with relevant skills and education. Maybe it's time for these silly kid's parents to cut their monthly allowance.

Excellent posting. You sound like a sane person who still has a soul.

Thank you for your well thought out and competent writing and your ability to express yourself without being rude. It is too bad everyone can't think things through as well, perhaps we would never have gotten to this point in the first place.

[-] 0 points by Dzehenuti (15) 12 years ago

Yea people win. Be patient ;). Every day a lot of peoples join.

[-] 1 points by Occupyjail (1) 12 years ago

False. Every day a number of you defiant fools get thrown in jail. Maybe when this becomes a legitimate cause people will care to listen. But then again under what obligation do corporations need to?

[-] 0 points by OWSWhat (66) 12 years ago

No. the way the movement is going with it's rapes, murders, violence, theft, etc. It is very lucky it will last to the end of the year

[-] 0 points by arealpolitik (154) 12 years ago

Flaming troll... This forum proves everyday that the movement continues till there is real change. The fact that trolls such as yourself are even permitted to speak in this forum proves so much. Try to go into a Tea Party forum and troll, see where it gets you. They do not believe in free speech...

[-] 1 points by OWSWhat (66) 12 years ago

I am not a troll and only expressing from what I see on the news about OWS. I do believe in some things they are doing but the media paints a very different picture of the movement.

[-] 0 points by Ludog5678 (28) 12 years ago

Name me one movement in history that has brought good change with out a list of demands.

[-] 0 points by justcause (44) 12 years ago

you'll never win, these countries are corporate countries, you cannot run without them unless you completely overhaul the entire country and that will take many many years and destroy almost everything you have

[-] 0 points by TIOUAISE (2526) 12 years ago

"The mockers of the Occupy People should take due notice: The Eye of The Lord is always over the oppressed and He hears their cries of anguish!", writes "arealpolitik".

And I agree with you, brother, there is definitely a SPIRITUAL DIMENSION to this Sacred Struggle. And even if 99% of OWS were atheists or agnostics, it wouldn't change a thing : WHAT WE ARE WITNESSING NOW IS A STRUGGLE BETWEEN THE FORCES OF LIGHT AND THE FORCES OF DARKNESS.

And btw I am NOT by any stretch of the imagination a "Christian fundamentalist".... I speak rather as a "Christic", i.e. one who aspires to TRULY live by the teachings of Yeshua (Jesus) as well as all the other Great Jewish Prophets on Social Justice. I also find inspiration in the teachings of the Buddha, of Lao Tzu, of Rumi, ALL of which point us toward "tikkun olam", i.e. SOCIAL JUSTICE, a universal value which is at the heart of ALL great religions, but which the "irreligious right" in this country has chosen to grotesquely distort and infamously betray.

The highly respected Catholic theologian Romano Guardini was, as we know, very critical of his Church, which he said was " the cross on which Christ is crucified"... And I would unhesitatingly apply the same metaphor to the so-called "Christian Right" in this country : it is "the cross on which Christ is crucified" - and along with him, the poor, the downtrodden and the disenfranchised of this nation.

[-] 0 points by fishb8 (62) 12 years ago

The bill of goods OWS people have bought almost makes me feel sorry for them even as they profess their blind cultism. But if someone keeps standing in the middle of the freeway insisting the traffic will magically miss him . . .then he deserves his fate.

[-] 0 points by bre0001 (50) from Brooklyn, NY 12 years ago

Get the net somebody.

[-] 1 points by TIOUAISE (2526) 12 years ago

Are you having another one of your troll-seizures, "bre0001"???

[-] -1 points by fishb8 (62) 12 years ago

OWS implies through its "non-leaders" that they will not Leave until their demands are met. Their Demands can never be met . . .for they change by the minute and vary from individual to individual.
Besides if they were shown a white flag and offered unconditional surrender . . They would have no terms that could model any kind of a functional society. Complaining, Blaming, and whining are their only talents

[-] -1 points by morons123 (131) 12 years ago

Win what? OWS is no more than a bunch of under-achieving jealous cry babies who want what they can't earn. Stop counting my money. If this country of mine is so horrible than pick your sorry ass up and move. I will pay for your one way plane ticket.

[-] 3 points by arealpolitik (154) 12 years ago

Wow, I think your name says it all... OWS has already brought important topics to the lips of the media and the politicians. Since this was and still is their primary objective, it is conclusive they have been successful... But how can a name-calling flaming troll understand? It is quite obvious to all that OWS is extremely effective in getting the message out, after all, you are here on this forum aren't you? Go home and count your money and leave the 'good of the country' in the hands of these true American Patriots...

[-] 1 points by morons123 (131) 12 years ago

you are fucking delusional. you really think you are taken seriously? you really think you have brought up new topics? no news here.

[-] 1 points by arealpolitik (154) 12 years ago

What can I say, your name says it all... your language proves you do not have the intellect to engage in any real conversation.

[-] 1 points by morons123 (131) 12 years ago

you have never used the word fuck? like I said you are fucking delusional.

[-] 1 points by arealpolitik (154) 12 years ago

Yes, when I smash my finger with a hammer or my boat sinks while fishing, but not in conversation meant to persuade, inform or related to important dialogue. This forum needs relevant conversation concerning what is best for our country, not flaming insults or inconsequential trolling remarks.

[-] 0 points by Perspective (-243) 12 years ago

Typical OWS arrogance.

[-] 1 points by randart (498) 12 years ago

Buy yourself a one way ticket to another country. Abu Dhabi might just be the place for you. Just think, you can have that apartment in the sky on one of those man made islands. Great spot for folks like you. That is unless you're not all THAT rich.

[-] 1 points by morons123 (131) 12 years ago

I love this country and am not complaining so no reason for me to go anywhere. With regards to Abu Dhabi, it is beautiful and I have been. I would never live their but look forward to visiting again.

[-] -3 points by OccupyNot (23) 12 years ago

You're not going to 'win some day.' First of all you are dumber than rocks, every last one of you. You're protesting big stores now. Why, you stupid fucks, they have nothing to do with Wall Street?

A couple of weeks ago you went to some billionaires places to protest. You went to Rupert Murdoch's and David Koch's buildings. They have nothing to do with Wall Street, you idiots.

You walked right past George Soros' place. If you protested his place, you would have finally been in the right place. He's a convicted felon for insider trading. A hedge fund trader. A supporter of Democrats and the Obama regime. Finally, your protests would have been directed to the right place.

But NO, you went right by. You didn't even know it. Your puppetmasters made you skip him because HE is funding this idiocy along with Democrats.

Keep it up. Keep spending all this money Democrats, it isn't going to matter as long as you have these moron lemmings doing your dirty work.

[-] 3 points by nucleus (3291) 12 years ago

Keep watching FOX and listening to Rush, and pretty soon you will lose the ability to do anything but snarl and dribble.

You're actually quite close to that point now.

[-] 2 points by arealpolitik (154) 12 years ago

Flaming troll... This forum proves everyday that the movement continues till there is real change. The fact that trolls such as yourself are even permitted to speak in this forum proves so much. Try to go into a Tea Party forum and troll, see where it gets you. They do not believe in free speech...

[-] 1 points by OccupyNot (23) 12 years ago

See what I mean you dumb shit? In one reply you want me banned and in this one you tell me I should be allowed to post because of freedom of speech. Fucking morons, all of you.

[-] 1 points by arealpolitik (154) 12 years ago

It is not your message, it is your uncouth, unintelligent and foul-mouthed way in which you present it. If you have a vocabulary, try using it... But then again, I think not...

[-] 2 points by arealpolitik (154) 12 years ago

If you take the name calling out of your argument, you do not have one... You appear to be just another flaming troll with nothing to offer.

[-] -1 points by OccupyNot (23) 12 years ago

What name calling?

It's over turds.

[-] 1 points by JesseHeffran (3903) 12 years ago

i believe the swallow depth of your knowledge is your biggest impediment to enlightenment. it's kinda like a person who walks up and down twenty steps day in and day out, but on a certain day, something he has been doing for years, is perturbed, and he misses the count of the steps. When this happens, he trips and stumbles down a flight of stares he has been climbing his whole life. don't lose count of the steps, or your body wont be prepared for the final step.

[-] 0 points by OccupyNot (23) 12 years ago

Go fuck youself. I'm sick of you fucking know-it-alls. You think cause you went to college that you know better than the rest of us that worked all our lives without ever wanting to take other people's money just because they had more than us. Get a job and earn your own money ahole.

[-] 2 points by arealpolitik (154) 12 years ago

I think this guy 'OccupyNot' should be banned... if for nothing else but his sheer stupidity and ignorance. If you cannot refrain from showing people how illiterate you are, why do you bother?

[-] 1 points by OccupyNot (23) 12 years ago

Stupidity and ignorance? Are you serious? Just read some of the posts you morons put here. I've never seen such a huge accumulation of idiots in my life as here on OWS. Typical Marxist reply, ban him, I don't like what he's saying. Showing your true colors ahole.

[-] 0 points by arealpolitik (154) 12 years ago

Yet another intelligent response...

[-] -1 points by Bambi (359) 12 years ago

You are AWESOME, occupynot!!!

These occupiers are clueless followers. Bet they don't even know who Soros is. Him and Van Jones and all other cronies if the POTUS are involved. It's costing taxpayers 13-million to date for them to "occupy".

Why do they want to hurt these big stores? It is only hurting the "99%" that they claim they are "fighting for" (not that I ever asked them to fight for me).

They will NEVER win......ever

[-] 3 points by dca2012 (20) 12 years ago

You right wingers are so jealous that Occupy is a huge movement as your beloved Tea Party fades into history. All the Occupy hatred on this board is proof positive that OWS is touching a nerve with you CONservatives.

[-] -2 points by Bambi (359) 12 years ago

I'm not a right winger.......You are dreaming if you think you have won.

[-] 3 points by jimmycrackerson (940) from Blackfoot, ID 12 years ago

What fools you are...We've already won...

"Because you didn't come here to make the choice, you've already made it. You're here to try to understand why you made it. I thought you'd have figured that out by now." -The Oracle, Matrix Trilogy

[-] -1 points by Bambi (359) 12 years ago

HOW have you won?

[-] 2 points by jimmycrackerson (940) from Blackfoot, ID 12 years ago

If you can not see that now, your eyes will be opened in due time. Trust me on this.

[-] -2 points by OccupyNot (23) 12 years ago

Typical dumbass response. Just look at the posts on this site. You don't even have to open the threads. You can tell by the post titles how crazy ans stupid thee morons are. Go ahead, go to the main page and scan down the titles of the posts. Mostly assholes. jimmy crackerson is one the dumbest on the board as you can tell by his posts.Total tard.

I mean this idiot is quoting an effing movie in a previous post. The Matrix. The retard thinks the movie is real. LMAO.

[-] 4 points by Edgewaters (912) 12 years ago

Only a true idiot would judge anything by the quantity of trolls attracted.

[-] 2 points by jimmycrackerson (940) from Blackfoot, ID 12 years ago

You should come over to my house someday. We can have a tea party, and I'll show you just how retarded I really am.

[-] -1 points by Perspective (-243) 12 years ago

There it is,typical OWS implied threats. Sad.

[-] 2 points by jimmycrackerson (940) from Blackfoot, ID 12 years ago

Wasn't a threat, it was an invitation to a logical discussion. But of course, we all know where your head is.

[-] -1 points by Perspective (-243) 12 years ago

Lol yeah right.

[-] -1 points by OccupyNot (23) 12 years ago

Likewise. If you're ever in Brooklyn, I'll show you some of the sights. We treat country bumpkins extra special.

[-] -1 points by Perspective (-243) 12 years ago

I've said all along that the only people OWS is hurting are the 99%. OWS could care less about the 99% and a lot of them have shown their disdain towards the 99% here. All they care about is making the country into what they "think" is right and if you don't agree get the fuck out of the way.

[-] 2 points by Bambi (359) 12 years ago

I tell them to go over the border to somewhere else that they think is better.

I agree that the OWS couldn't care less about the 99%. Look how they made others suffer with their garbage and stink in their feeble little camps forcing the 99% to have to inhale that crap...banging drums to keep the 99% awake at night....not caring about local businesses that had to endure them during their camp out causing them, the 99% who own these places, tons of hardship and lost business........on and on and on.

They haven't lived on earth long enough to even know what is "right".

I find it rather interesting that now that the NYC camp is shut down that they are using office space. Hmmmm...office space in a building that is more than likely owned by a corporation..

[-] 0 points by Perspective (-243) 12 years ago

It's classic do as I say and not as I do.
