Another approach the Occupy folks need to take is a campaign for None of The Above. This comes from the movie Brewster's Millions. None of the current candidates are worth a hoot....so we should be voting for None of the Above to send a huge message.

That's been tried and seemed to overwhelmingly support right-wing ideals. And from the people I have heard talking about it, it seemed to be coming from right-wingers who have grown paranoid over "liberal" corruption. A lot of it has also appeared to be fronted by right-wing groups. If I remember right, wasn't it None of the Above, or something similar, that the Governator into office in California? Yeah, Grey Davis was no saint, but none of them would dare attack the privatization of the electric industry.

Choosing not to vote, or voting non of the above is an option, and if used by a large majority of the people eligible to vote does send a strong message that in the public view the establishment is illegitimate.

I don't think that approach is the right one for a nation of our size and global influence.

I think there is a storm on the horizon, it is the storm of global warming, and I think there are those within both government and industry who are content to eviscerate our government in an effort to maintain their current positions of power and influence, and are content to deny to themselves and to us the magnitude of the peril before us.

For me, not voting is not an option.

I prefer the contemplation of and advocacy for the complete and total destruction of the repelican party.

Left to the natural course of events, the repelican party is already done, because of their own behavior, and the magnitude of their abuse of the public with their lies and machinations.

I prefer to aid the natural course by whatever means I may, and so hasten their departure from our national debate, in the hope that the results may stand as a clear and incontrovertible warning to others who aspire to a place on the national stage -

We are Americans. Those who would treat us with such scorn, as if we were no more than sheep, fit to be herded and shorn at a whim,

do so at their own peril.

Frustration with the two-party system is what led to voter apathy. There's a plan to change that coming to a congressional district near you soon...
