It is clear that the current forum software is prone to troll abuse, and should be changed to something tried and tested, like phpBB.

While up/down votes sound great in theory, it ends up being used as a "who has the most sock puppets" tool by the trolls. The fact that voting can be scripted with this software is especially troubling.

Its not worth posting here anymore. The trolls win.

I've been so annoyed by trolls, I've just been lurking myself. I just check and see what is news mostly. I'm not even convinced the diehard supporters are real anymore. I know why I have time to lurk but I'm not always sure about others. I posted one thing today and no one said a word. OWS is doing its own thing and I guess I am too.

I didn't even see what you posted, because it was buried under a list of troll threads.

On that note: We're the victim of "swift boat" attacks on these boards as well. Accounts signing up, making one thread, and then never posting again. Its usually something inflammatory that is designed to get people angry enough to respond.

It's just one guy using multiple user names. And it just takes one guy like DKAtoday fighting with the troll that keeps him here. Trolls are bullies, the best strategy is to ignore them, they thrive on disruption, anger, and attention.

Kinda semms like they might be having the most fun and the admins seem to have no effect on them while they pick on us real folks with independent views quite effectively

I have been thinking about interviewing for a position in trolldom just so they would stop picking on me.

Could someone please fabricate some echo chambers? One for each pursuasion Then we could have troll wars or whatever. And we could talk to friendlies while our wounds heal?

They only pick on who they can make feel bad. Don't respond to mud slinging. IGNORE - ance will create bliss.

I'm kinda serious about the echo chambers, sub forums to kinda explore issues with a general approach to the problems where nobody hacks you up or plays troll. Groups work out consensus positions to suggest to the other groups in a civil manner. I know, wishful thinking.

The rest was a satirical response to frustration.

my browser get's stuck in an unending loop when loading

(transferring data from m.addthisedge.com )

I think boards.ie are suggesting this forum have a format for use with mobile actions

right now, this load loop is impeding my work

Nothing screams troll like creating a top post to attract them, only to then get in a screaming match with them.
