Every supporter of fracking should be forced to watch gaslands and if they still support it they need to explain to those communities why their health doesn't matter.

[-] 1 points by NVPHIL (664) 11 years ago

Thx. I didn't know that. Knowing vegas it probably will go through without push back.

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

As far as they're concerned it was those people's fault for living there, on top of their profit source.

NeolibeR)tarianism in action.

[-] 2 points by inclusionman (7064) 11 years ago

John Lennon would be proud & would be an Occupier too.

Ah yes, the many wonders and secrets of fracking.

Who cares about water that's underground, until of course you actually need it and then there's the undeniable deniability of the corporations that fouled it.

Meanwhile, on the pipeline front..........

http://rabble.ca/news/2013/01/mcethicaltm-enbridge-line-9-and-tar-sands-gigaproject

Poisoning the environment, it's not just for the US anymore.

[-] 2 points by inclusionman (7064) 11 years ago

It is hard to believe we have to fight against obvious self destructive actions.

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

Ask around.

Most people have never heard about any of this, or own but a vague knowledge.

[-] 3 points by inclusionman (7064) 11 years ago

You're right. It's just demoralizing that it is happening.with so much ignorance out there. I believe more and more are becoming educated. And I know progressive people and groups are aware and more active than ever before. We beat ALEC and repub efforts to suppress the vote last cycle and we will have to again.

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

Toss out the teabagge(R)s wherever you may find them.

Don't hesitate.

[-] 3 points by inclusionman (7064) 11 years ago

We did a few this past cycle and brought in at 40 new progressives according to some progressive group. We just have to keep up the work. Inform people, protest, boycott, agitate for change.

[-] 1 points by inclusionman (7064) 11 years ago

Ny delays (but doesn't cancel) fracking.

http://news.yahoo.com/ny-fracking-health-study-news-194243132.html

Small success. They may be hoping the protests will subside.

Now is the time to ratchet up the pressure.

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

The pressure to stop fracking must never stop.

[-] 3 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

That F'n PRICK - the people need to send a firestorm of outrage over the people he has placed in charge of the economy and over energy. This is just sick.

[-] 1 points by inclusionman (7064) 11 years ago

More outrage. Ratchet up the pressure. Make sure they know it's wrong.

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

No Bout aDoubt it. The pressure from the public must continue to increase.

[-] 1 points by inclusionman (7064) 11 years ago

Agreed.

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

And that will happen over the internet ( education/outreach ) as well as street protests.

[-] 1 points by inclusionman (7064) 11 years ago

You know it.

There sure doesn't need to be any pressure to make you use this site. Dude, you have a major case of forum addiction. It's taking over your life. I can't imagine anyone using this site nearly as much as you unless they are paid good money to do so. Do you ever do anything else apart from posting on this site. You're here from morning till night. It's insane! And to think you could actually be doing something worthwhile for Occupy instead of wasting all your time here. It's so sad to see so much energy and devotion go straight down the drain into a cesspool of uselessness.

[-] 3 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Forum and forum user attacker - R U ? How often will you be banned in the next week - old troll/shill?

[-] -2 points by clearsimpletruths (-204) 11 years ago

Man, seriously, I'm saying this for your own good - "Take time off the forum. Take a walk. Take care of your grandkids, anything." Don't become a virtual couch potato.

[-] 3 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Apparently you are not all that alert - I have not been here on a regular basis since last Thursday. Save your BS for someone else - like one of your other selves. Talk about a forum site addiction - no wait - seeing as you are likely paid to keep attacking the forum - you are more of a sell-out of humanity.

[-] -3 points by clearsimpletruths (-204) 11 years ago

You had a short break because of health issues in your family. That's true. I do hope your sick family members heal quickly. Being sick is always a tragedy. And I applaud you for supporting those that are sick. I was sick once and I'll say that you remember each and every person that supports you because it means so much.

But, I'm talking about time for yourself. Enjoyable time. Take a walk, meet a girl. Forum addiction is real and affects many Americans. There's no shame in this. Seek some help and you'll feel much better.

[-] 3 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Take your own advice humanity sell-out.

[-] 1 points by inclusionman (7064) 11 years ago

Fracking is the topic of this thread.

[-] 1 points by inclusionman (7064) 11 years ago

Shut the fuck up! Who asked your ignorant ass about your opinion on anyones usage of the site. it ain't none of your goddamn business.

Fuckin' moron!

[-] -3 points by clearsimpletruths (-204) 11 years ago

Addicts aren't always aware of their addiction. It's the job of those whole community to help them.

[-] 3 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

So who in your community can we notify that you need serious medical attention?

[-] -1 points by clearsimpletruths (-204) 11 years ago

I'm already part of a forum addicts program. Anyhow, I'm just trying to help. It's understandable that you can't admit you have a problem to the Internet public, so I don't mind if you keep shutting me down for the show. But, when you're alone, take a moment to read this:

In compliment:

Do you remember when rivers caught on fire before the Clean Water Act passed? The only thing worse than a river on fire would be your drinking water on fire. Yet thanks to fracking, that's exactly what's happened to countless American families.

Fracking, or hydraulic fracturing, is a dangerous way of drilling for natural gas -- and if President Obama does not step in by the end of the year, the Department of Energy (DOE) could write the gas industry a blank check for more fracking.

President Obama needs to hear from 60,000 of us by Wednesday -- send your letter today, telling him to protect communities from the dangers of fracking!

Fracking is an unsafe drilling method where secret toxic chemicals are injected into rock formations to release natural gas. The fracking industry wants to ship liquefied natural gas (LNG) to other countries to profit even more, while leaving our communities to deal with consequences -- including poisoned drinking water, extreme air pollution, and destroyed coasts. It is up to us to tell President Obama the natural gas industry does not deserve a blank check to put our communities at risk.

Right now, DOE is studying whether or not we should start exporting fracked LNG. Unfortunately, they are only evaluating the business-side economics of exports, not the environmental and public health effects of fracking.

It is critical that DOE looks at the entire picture, from the effects of a fracking well in Pennsylvania or Colorado to the construction of pipeline to carry LNG to a coastal export facility in Louisiana or Washington State.

Please tell President Obama that this study does not look at the full picture and that the public health and environmental costs of LNG must be part of the decision.

Thanks for all that you do,

Deb Nardone Director, Beyond Natural Gas Campaign Sierra Club

P.S. Please share this email with friends and family, too.

Yep - really bad sound - but very true statement.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr told HuffPost Live host Josh Zepps in an interview Friday that he believes conservative media outlets such as Fox News are damaging the country.

Asked how he thought things have changed in the political landscape, Kennedy pointed to "big money" and "the right wing control of the American media, starting with Fox News" as hurtful to collaboration between differing political interests.

"Twenty-two percent of Americans say their primary news source is Fox News," Kennedy told HuffPost Live. "It's divided our country in a way that we haven't been divided probably since the Civil War, and its empowered large corporations to get certain kinds of politicians and ideologues who are in the United State Congress elected -- the Tea Party ideologues who control the Republican Party."

Kennedy, who is the nephew of John F. Kennedy and Ted Kennedy and attorney specializing in environmental law, also spoke about the hydraulic fracturing -- or fracking -- and the health risks and associated costs the practice represents for the country.

Watch Kennedy's comments on fracking in New York state below, and watch the full segment on HuffPost Live.

Fracking agreement between environmentalists and oil & gas corps?

http://news.yahoo.com/both-sides-agree-tough-fracking-standards-170129217--finance.html

have you heard anything on this?

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

No I hadn't, but I'll see what shakes out.

It's only for the Northeast and the corps involved aren't know for following rules, nor playing them fairly.

It smells, seems like a cover for the industry to frack..

Demoralizing.

Good Video. Robert is right about Solar not having all the longterm costs to the environment, cost that are seldom calculated in Coal Mining, Coal Energy. Patriotic Energy from Heaven, good phrase. He makes the point well that Fracting polution, Traffic, Damage to Community & Economy makes Alternative Energy a much better choice especially when coal poisons the water & fish. Here is a better link below... John Kerry & better Foreign Policy that looks after human interests at 10 minutes in, He talks more and gets into Big oil money & Koch Money at 11:30 minutes in and 13:30 he cites Big money and Right Wing Media control as having changed our country and brought these money problems, fiscal cliff, going crisis to crisis in Washington, Polarized Congress .....

Here's a look at the REAL footprint of the Alberta tar sands.

http://littlegreenfootballs.com/article/41652_Renowned_Conservation_Photographer_Garth_Lenz-_The_True_Cost_of_Oil

It would VERY difficult to believe that the full footprint of solar is anywhere near as bad.

[-] 1 points by Middleaged (5140) 11 years ago

Nice Video, and am forwarding it to many.

Was thinking all Energy is regulated as a utility. Not sure who owns the US Nuke Energy Plants. But why doesn't Obama Start a Program to create Solar Energy Plants with 4 phases of developement: first phase is just to annex the land and get perimiter security so that equipment isn't stolen, the next three phases are investment phases spaced apart by at least 5 years so that entering the next phase better technology is purchased ... maybe add a sub-phase in the begining to limit risk by buying smaller quantities of equipment and testing them.

If we are looking at shutting down Coal Energy which has 50% of our production today ... It is a reasonable National R&D Project to set up National Solar and Wind Energy Plants in all States. Obviously the Coal & Oil Industries will not take the initiative due to Risk.

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

You'd have to ask him, but I would say a recalcitrant Congress, and the belief system of a good potion of the population along with BIG energy are the hang ups.

[-] 2 points by Middleaged (5140) 11 years ago

You have good insticts and good background. If we follow the money ....

1) Big Oil doesn't want competition from Alternative Energy ...and likely will force businesses out of business in any way possible.
2) Oil & Mining Corporations are one of the most powerful forces on this earth.
3) US Cartels are run through Washington DC, through the Banks, and compose of Global Investments in Oil, Energy, Mining, Agriculture, Big Pharma, Chemical, Media, Telecommunications, Defense, ... and Universities ...and probably US Department of Education.

Seems like if we try to guess what the Cartels will do next ... we have to look at Resources that are still available to be assigned by government or purchased or secured through Pipelines & Transportation Networks.

1) Outer Space Resources
2) Rain Forests
3) Artic Resources
4) Undersea Resources
5) Mining Resources in Remote or Underground locations
6) Data Processing, Technical, Genetics, Nuclear or Organic Science, Property Rights, Copy Rights, miniturization or Nanotechnology, food technology, food cloning, hydroponics
7) New Sources of Energy, Audio Science, Physics, new ways to get into space without solid or liquid fuel rockets

I have two thoughts on this. I agree, but............

at some point people have to take responsibility for their own research. I see no reason why I have to slow down for some of these morons. I really don't.

I have fun getting attacked by the FLAKESnews aficionado's..........:)

Both local and national.....................:)

A flake is still a flake.

Fracking, on the other hand, is an evil that far too few understand the dangers of and it's not like prices have dropped commensurate to the amount of fracking being done, and now they want to export to keep prices here artificially high................Sick shit on every level.
