Come on, NYC--we need to pressure the NYPD. We need to get the crowds back. We need at the very least to march...

Stick with the real issues, financial reform and getting the corrupting influences out of government. You're allowing this to look like the "hippy temper tantrum over camping out" that the media love to portray. Right to assemble is an important one, but the courts have made it clear that really isn't the issue with the parks.

Agrred.Get ove Zuccotti. It was a great place to start, but we need to move way beyond such tiny goals.

[-] 1 points by Vooter (441) 12 years ago

Yeah, I understand the "real" issues. Why don't you explain to us how those issues have been tackled to this point? Why don't you point out a tangible reason why people shouldn't be in the streets? I'm waiting...

They really haven't and they won't be as long as everyone is content with only demonstrations and raising awareness of the problems. This is a national movement and can run people for congress all across the country. Run primary battles that will shake up the incumbents and start bringing about real change. The politicians won't do it because you're asking them to, it's only when their reelection is threatened that you'll get some results.

You or I could run for office and get nowhere as a couple of individuals, but we have a movement here that could do it. The pieces are already in place. Legal advisors, a fund raising arm, GAs all across the country to organize and state the message. I see what's happening now as tossing away a opportunity to make a real change.

Sorry, not a troll. Have been in a bunch of marches and spent plenty of time at Zuccotti and 60 Wall Street. Just looking to keep the momentum going, and bodies in motion is a good way to do that. I hate to break it to you, but not everyone who wants to do something that you don't want to do is trying to hurt the movement. In fact, it's people like you--people who like to make rules about who's a "good" OWSer and who's not, and who should be allowed in the "club"--who hurt not only this movement, but any movement. GET OVER YOURSELF.

Get a permit and MARCH. What is holding you back - MONEY??

[-] 1 points by Vooter (441) 12 years ago

Sorry, I already have a permit--it's called the taxes that I pay for MY public streets. I'll walk on any public street in NYC that I feel like walking on, and I'll do it without Bloomberg's Nazi permit....

[-] 0 points by ronjj (-241) 12 years ago

Tell you what. Me and 100 others will get a permit to march. You take your "permit" to walk on any public street in NYC and your 100 followers.

We will strick up the bands, start marching towards each other and see how it plays out.

[-] 1 points by Vooter (441) 12 years ago

Well, since permits are for pussies and bootlickers, we already know how that'll play out...

How about we all wear dresses and walk barefoot, would you feel better.

You must be one super tough dude to stand up to the big government the way you do over this little permit thing. I bet you could punch the lights out of a traffic cop and burn down city hall if anyone tried to give you a speeding ticket.

Tough is what we called it when we were in sixth grade and the big seventh graders came round.

Hey Vooter See you in the ER. Better hope I am not on call in the ER that night.

A speeding car and a gurney in the same night might do a little damage.

LOL...cowards sure do love their stormtroopers, now, don't they? Run, little man, run--the mean ol' TERRORISTS are a-comin'! "Save us, Reichsfuhrer Bloomberg! Save us, Obergruppenfuhrer Kelly!" Standard-issue pussies and cowards, every last one of you...

Seems like YOU have a problem. I don't even live anywhere near NYC and I do not regret that in any way.

I have a cactus thorn in my butt and I will get it out without announcing it to the whole world (oops). Why don't you consider doing the same to yours.

But they have over 1/2 MIILLION in the bank...so it can't be money.

Maybe it's the winter or shock of all shocks.......people got tired of OWS? Nah that can't be it.......L

[-] 0 points by ronjj (-241) 12 years ago

Yeah, it can be money. Someone ultimately decides WHO gets the money and evidently Vooter didn't get to vote and didn't even get enough to buy a permit.

Shame how things work out sometimes. A leaderless organization would have had all that 1/2M spent long ago.

Hey Vooter - might want to check a little on that last thought - 1/2M isn't exactly chump change to anyone I know.
