I never talked about conspiracies. I only have a few postings here. Most were in retaliation to the demo plants, the others were in retaliation to arturo's idea that China should be our model.
You have loads of monikers, you've been here for ages. Give me a break. The only co-opter here is you. You are the grand co-opter of the OWS forum. We'll have to have a ceremony and give you an official award when all is said and done.
Do you attack all new comers with such lies? Is that how you deal with alternate points of view? You'll be happy to know that OWS will most likely be co-opted by Obama fans. It seems like it's happening right now and most people here are fine with that idea, including the mods. Good luck with that.

I actually have some respect for alternate points of view. So while I might not agree, I allow people to think for themselves.
This is all getting rather boring, and you're a smart guy, so can you please find something else other than anarchy, conspiracy theories or this Dem co-opt stuff. Talk about important things such as why Americans aren't outraged the way your people in Montreal are. Why is everyone so apathetic here? That's the big question.
I'm having a hard time understanding WTF .... it seems like all of a sudden, new joins are coming on here talking about co-opting OWS. I assume (in this case) it's people who have been involved (probably more than me), but just not active on this web site. Well, okay, giving the benefit of the doubt (on the join date thing), some of the people mentioned in the OP do seem to pony a political party or politician fairly often, but they also talk about dozens of other things. Moreover, nothing is being co-opted as far as I can tell. I talked about the Green Party once (really, only because I was considering voting in that direction, and I had just gotten turned on to it, and suddenly I'm being berated like I'm some hack or whatever, and some anarchist is lecturing me about how tossing rocks at cops while running away will somehow deliver us to the promised land).
This is either a place where ideas are freely shared or it isn't. Speaking for myself, my thinking cannot be influenced by partisanship (it's not just possible). I guess maybe I'm not a full fledged anarchist (although I probably know at least as much about the history and philosophy and writings of anarchists as anyone I've spoken to, I just don't agree with every single thing stated by every single anarchist who's ever lived), but I've studied philosophy in a more general sense, my book shelf is filled with all sorts of philosophers (I've even read Ayn Rand, because I like to know all sides).
For me, a good idea is a good idea, I don't really care where it comes from (although there may be some extreme exceptions to that rule, for instance, I've never read any Nazi literature :)).
OWS was not designed as a platform to advertise the Democrat party. It was designed as a grassroots movement where we change the world from the bottom up. If you believe it's better to wait for Obama to do things right and you feel that advertising for him is the best way to change our world, then you should be starting another movement.
If I was waiting around for Obama (or any politician) to do shit, I guess I'd be waiting for a long time (so no, we're not that deluded here).
The co-opters are. Read the comments from VQkag2. He's posting adverts for Obama. DKAtoday and friends support his efforts. He said many times that Obama will come around and be our savior.
I won't mention politicians, I won't mention parties, I won't tell you how to vote! I say agitate on the streets for these issues if you believe because they hurt the 99%. Shadzhairart does not support these efforts because he is a partisan plant. And does not believe in OWS!
Fight against anti 99% policies: repeal citizens united/corp personhood, support stronger fin reform, support healthcare public option, increase wealthy taxes, lower middle class taxes, Forgive middle class cr card/student debt. repeal patriot act/ndaa. support unions/living wage/worker ownership of corps. reward onshoring, penalize offshoring of jobs/assets/hq's. Support OWS
The media determines the co-opting. And they have already succeeded in taking the general publics views into a pro-Dem corner.
Its why I stressed so much at the beginning that an official document stating that OWS does not support D or R was so important.

I won't argue that. We need everybody to work for a better future. This is the most divisive issue in OWS and we need to put it aside and just work our tails off to improve society, support reform and revolution.
they don't have to be mutually exclusive. Rather than create yet another difference between people we should try to embrace both concepts. Otherwise it WILL divide us.
