Essentially zionist commie Israel was trying to push for war, revolution and destruction - no surprises there, they always talk up nuclear threats and other lies meanwhile they should be disarmed of their nuclear weapons as they represent a true threat to humanity...people have to learn that we cannot trust Israel and we must dump them...they are not allies...after all, does anyone remember the USS Liberty attacks or the disgusting spy Pollard who is held up as a hero in Israel...

Remember "Weapons of Mass Distruction"?

That reflects a brilliant bit of political strategy; ramp up sanctions, raise tensions, get the Republicans to talk about action, then pull the rug out from under them. Genius !

As for Iran, it doesn't matter. The Arab Spring is going to hit them in May.

Wow...May! Sounds like you have inside info. Speak!

No 'inside' info required.

The sanctions have the Iranian people running to the banks to cash their paychecks because the rial is collapsing. See http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Middle_East/NA11Ak03.html and note Europe and Japan have both announced they plan to impose sanctions as well ( http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/01/10/us-iran-idUSTRE8090ZL20120110 ). The chart at http://www.resourceinvestor.com/News/2012/1/Pages/Chart-of-the-Week--Banning-Iranian-Oil-Imports.aspx illustrates just how much oil is about to be embargoed, and these embargoes aren't the only measures being taken (also freezing Iranian cash and investments, prohibiting trade with Iranian businesses, etc).

The Iranian people rose up in 2009 under much less dire circumstances due to election fraud ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009_Iranian_election_protests ), and they have a key parliamentary election coming in May 2012 ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iranian_legislative_election,_2012 ).

We are actively promoting the Arab Spring by providing Internet and cell-phone services that allow citizens to bypass their government's citizenship (see http://www.jpost.com/MiddleEast/Article.aspx?id=217662 and http://www.state.gov/secretary/rm/2011/02/156619.htm ). Note it was the US Department of Defense ( Navy ) that created the TOR onion router technology specifically for use by dissidents (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tor_(anonymity_network) ). We have access to all of Iran's borders via Iraq, Afghanistan, the US Navy fleet, and space. We will set up base stations and mobile access points while also distributing satellite routers. The government of Iran won't be able to shut down their people's access like they did before. We weren't prepared then, we are now.

The purpose of sanctions is to ferment unrest in the hopes they will rise. We have created great disruption in their economy while simultaneously showing quite publicly we're willing to rescue their people (we did it again today). The Iranians have risen up against their government before. This time, however, they have the experience of Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Yemen, and Syria to fuel them, and we're much better situated to ensure they have the tools they need.

Even if Iran capitulates on the nuclear issue, it will take a year or more for their economy to stabilize; their oil customers will have found new sources. Thus, the economic pressure on the people of Iran will still be in full force by the time they get to their elections.

Second Iranian uprising shortly after May.

that's interesting, but not believable, of course Iranian president Mamoud Imadinnerjacket is developing nuclear weapons. No matter what you think of Israel, the Iranian leadership is about as bad and evil as any government has ever been in recent history. The Iranian people need to restart their occupy and throw the mullahs out.

nothing will save Iran from Holy War, even if they turn over the juduaism

most important thing in conflict is human casualties. peaceful or military US craft will be demolished. this is my abstract subjective vision
