Forum Post: Onnce again about divercity and collective power

  1. Power in the hands of producers is not anarchy but a new form of state that makes each and everyone to cooperate and directly and consciously participate in the development of society. It's not about communism or capitalism. It's about working class people taking control over their lives and the their society as a whole rather than leaving this control in the hands of corporations and elites.

  2. American elites are diverse and fight each other. Yet they also solidly united against the working majority of our nation when it concerns their collective hold on power. Why can't the working class people be diverse yet united when it comes to their collеctive power over the land?

The 99% feels powerless so we push our personal ideologies and issues and become lost in the cacophony. When a unifying plan is put on the table it is attacked or ignored. What is the one source of power of the 99%? The ballot box. Cue the nay-sayers... divided we fall

[-] 1 points by Valentino (4) 12 years ago

I absolutely agree. This is why the 99% can have only one goal now -- power. As to their differences, once they have power and therefore responsibility for the country they will find common ground because they have common interests as working men and women.

That MAKES each and everyone cooperate? Are you saying forces everyone?

[-] 1 points by Valentino (4) 12 years ago

Exactly. The power of produces forces them to cooperate, just as the power of corporations and elites forces us to compete against each other for the sake of their profits and power over us. What will force us to cooperate is the systemic logic of our power.

Sorry but I don't think the real world works that way. "logic" varies from person to person.

It's not about communism or capitalism

Then why all the communist imagery?

[-] 2 points by packetStorm (128) 12 years ago

Because ... the new left ... adbusters ... hi-jacked our protest.

But they don't represent us ... the general assembly does.

[-] 0 points by raines (699) 12 years ago

Highjacked you? They STARTED the whole thing.

[-] 1 points by packetStorm (128) 12 years ago

David DeGraw and Anonymous launched OWS ... and then Noam Chomsky/new left co-opted us.

"The Economic Elite Vs. The People of the United States of America".

Adbusters and soros and acorn started ows. 0bamas backers and owners.

Then why has the anarcho-communist imagery continued even after the general assemblies were setup? Why has it been the dominant imagery by far and throughout the protests even after the general assemblies were setup? And, why has the imagery been increasing in violence even after the general assemblies were setup? Do the various ideologues have a voice in the general assemblies, or only the anarcho-communists?

See my reflections on Occupy's imagery here:

Guys, I don't know what you mean by 'negative" imagery. All I wanted to say was that no ideologues should be allowed to highjack the movement. No silly demands, no provocative publicity, let alone skirmishes with authorities. This is a road nowhere. The only thing we need is the freedom to assemble, organize, and run our political candidates for all seats of power, from local to the White House. And we have this freedom. I also argued that whatever ideological differences we may have between us they are absolutely irrelevant if we have only one common goal-- to take away political power from our elites and run this country as organized producers. And I believe that once the American people who produce everything what they need are in power they will get along much better than when they are powerless as they are now and divided by manipulative corporate mass media and elite ideologues.

The movement already has been hijacked.

[-] 1 points by packetStorm (128) 12 years ago

For the same reason OWS has no demands.

The GA ... by design ... moves slowly.

[-] 0 points by Thrasymaque (-2138) 12 years ago

Well, they better start hurrying because it will be too late. This negative imagery is ruining them. And, if they are so slow, how come they can quickly organize large protests only a few days in advance?

[-] 1 points by packetStorm (128) 12 years ago

ruined? you don't get it. this is the opening salvo ... the train wreck is coming.

prepare accordingly.

I know. I'm the one talking about the BIG TANKS. Have you started to follow them yet?

Thanks for the info Thrasy ...

anarchist tools like direct democracy

The Direct democracy meme ... is from the new left not anarchist. The people pushing for DD are dangerous.

But ... one needs to include intelligence agencies in the discussion, if one really wants to find the truth.
