China is run by a capitalist regime, not a communist regime.
The current capitalist regime secured its power when Deng Xiaoping put an end to socialism, implemented capitalism and then gunned down the people protesting the change (and all the inflation, unemployment and poverty this new capitalist system caused) in Tiananmen Square.
