While the Tea Party is playing with torches the country could be ignited by reading the Declaration of Independence.

In 2013 the highest tax bracket is taxed at 39.6% on income above $450K. In 1986 it was 50% on income above $175K. In 1980 it was 70% on income above $215K. In 1961 it was 90% on income above $400K. In 1944 it was 94% on income above $200K. In 1927 it as 22% on income above $64K.

The law that applies is Article V. It has the authority to make any change needed. Congress, the Senate, the supremes and the president can do nothing when 3/4 of the states are ratifying amendments.

They have abandoned it in others. It's pushed by ALEC and the Koch heads. What you have failed to realize is that the people that fell for this have considered the length of time and, therefore, energy for a half ass outcome is not worth it. Further, failure on your end to adequately address questions has led to it's demise on the forum.

Article V has been carried into state legislators for about 6 months now.

ALEC wants an un constitutional convention, not Article V.

When did you ask me a question about Article V? I'm just learning, but I can probably answer anything you would ask given some research.

From what I've seen, you and some others made a bogus thread to smear a poster working for Article V AND exposure of ALEC.

Okay, so there was no question.

I found the thread by searching for the petition redandbluepill was posting about that slammed ALEC ethically. Exposing in the most fundamental terms that they will not comment on t he most important thing of Article V, constitutional intent. Great non partisan/interest except the constitution, so a lot of people can relate to it.

Here, get back to educating yourself.

One guy I was talking to, who was from one of these right wing think tanks was saying we need to curb Obama’s reckless power with these administrative regulations, and he wanted a federal constitutional amendment saying Congress has to approve federal regulations. I said, I don’t think most people are going to want to amend the Constitution for that. I don’t think that ignites people. Maybe it does on the far right, but most people don’t really care about that. And he said, “Oh, well, you really don’t need people to do this. You just need control over the legislature and you need money, and we have both.”

That sentiment was underscored so many times to me, that they don’t want people involved in the political process, or in the policy process. And that seems to be the intent in a lot of ways: You have a think tank in every state and all they do is come up with these very, very regressive policies, you have corporations who are going to benefit so they fund it all, and then you have the legislators as your foot soldiers to carry out the tasks.

There were a couple of instances where legislators actually did challenge some of the policies, but they always lost. Great article. They are as bad or worse than we thought. That petition, if it gets enough signatures will prove that they are unconstitutional an do not want to be that way.

We can give all the examples we want of ALEC working with corporations stating what they are doing is constitutional, and who can say. But when the people use the constitution to say what is constitutional and ask ALEC to comment, and they won't, it really demonstrates that they are a threat to the constitution.

Exposing unconstitutional power for the sake of the constitution will do more than you think For example; It will empower and encourage boycotts on corporations generally that have anything to do with ALEC.

Then people will seriously question how an organization with such power can be allowed to work against the constitution.

This is how we get screwed in this system. Say I live in Michigan. I got two Senators who are Dems, got them elected. Hurray.

Now they both decide to tell Bernie to fuck himself, and tell the population in the state Fuck You, Eat Your Roundup.

So I'm a normal person, and my response is "Fuck me? Oh no, Fuck you, you;re out of there."

Except because they whored out, they now have enough money to control the next election. So now Im stuck voting for someone who voted to poison me, or vote for someone who would have done the same damn thing (Republican candidate).

In real estate, you don't make your money closing the deal, you make your money going in to the deal. That is to say, the profit to be made has to be planned from the very beginning by acquiring a discounted property that can be re-sold at market value.

Honestly, its why I thought the ALEC Corporate Board post was so important.

If someone hates ALEC, and they think they are voting against their interest by putting in a Democrat, theres a very very good chance that candidate took money directly from an ALEC board member.
