OWS needs to support ending Bush era tax cuts for millionaires. I support the movement and think ending the tax cuts for the wealthy would be the best way for OWS to get its point across.
Also, it should be noted that I support a progressive tax system in that the more you make, the more you should pay. A flat tax is an example of a regressive tax system--it taxes more for lower income groups.
NotYour99, are you saying that 47% of almost the entire country pay no taxes at all? If so, that would be saying that almost half the country doesn't have a job and therefore pays no income tax. While I don't deny this applies to some, I hardly think it is 47%.
Where did you find your information?
The "wealthy" still pay a much higher percent of taxes than the 99. The 1% pays 37% of the taxes. 47% of the 99 pay none. What's fair about that?
Repeal it all, not just for millionaires. Obama says everyone needs to have some skin in the game. Maybe some of the 50% that pay no income tax can help pull the wagon instead of riding in it.

Here's something that most people don't realize:
The ONLY reason Social Security is having any problems is that politicians from both parties looted this huge pool of surplus money to pay for other problems.
Every time they did so, they put an IOU into the system, saying that this money, which was--by law-- intended to pay Social Security recipients, would one day be paid back.
