Article V is the codification of it from the constitution and our right to make change.

the religious litmus test clause, and the fact that there should not be one. I believe that clause and a portion of the 1st amendment spells out the separation of church and state.

i believe the litmus test clause is not enforced as well as it should be, but that don't mean I don't respect it. It makes sense since politics is the policing of society and religion is the policing of the individual. When religious zealots begin using politics, especially the federal system, to police the individual they are overstepping the separation of church and state. sorry. i re read what I wrote and I can see how you were confused about what I wrote. There should be no litmus test but there seems to be one every two years, in some circles.

Thanks for explaining. I'm all for the separation of Church and State. I'd like a big chasm between them, but a lot of folks want to entwine the two.

But the words "promote general welfare" don't mean that the government is to financially take care of your lazy asses. It means simply that we should promote welfare (good) for all people.

What I'm getting at here is that we have an economic system that does not work for the majority of people. Did you know that one-half of all Americans earn less than $26,000 per year? And that 22% of our children live in poverty and that 1 in 7 are on food stamps? Huh?

Are you aware, too, that the Constitution does not dictate that we should have a capitalist economy that is regulated in favor of the wealthy and corporations, or even be capitalist at all?

That is not very likely. I've been engaged in revolt of the social construct for quite some time - and only articulated a case for revolt in 2009.

Here we are. On the cusp of revolution.

The repelican party has lied - repeatedly - reganonomics is a failure, blue dress stains do not trump issues of national security like terrorism, and Global Warming is here.

Holding up the budget debate with brinkmanship, creating market uncertainty that drove jobs and market numbers down six weeks into that debate, and all for the purpose of political gain - these are all issues of very serious national concern. We cannot keep kicking the can down the road when it comes to our national debt - and we cannot balance the budget on the backs of middle class America.

Repelican policy of economic deregulation has brought us to the brink of economic collapse.

It is inevitable, given both the sum of the lies and the sweeping policy failures - the people will vote these repelican fools out of office.

It's just a matter of time.

It's also a matter of national security.

  • the repelican party is DONE.

You will see this become quite apparent over the course of the next six years.

What is uncertain is whether there will be ice caps left at either pole by that time.

Why am I the only here that sees that this film isn't only about blaming the politicians or the bankers. It blames us. The suckers. The suckers who fall for the pretty face. When that banker does his campaign speech and says "I can do this", it reminded me of the President's campaign "Yes we can". All I keep thinking about is Living Color's song "Cult of personality". The Robber Baron helps cause the financial crisis, pockets the profits + government bonus, sacrifices the lamb for the ignorant masses, gives a "mea culpa" speech, and then runs for a political position. CLASSIC.
And what does the stupid masses (sorry...ethics professor) say???? "he looks just like Tom Cruise".

There it is folks. It's about the lambs going to the slaughter once again. The film is about NOT THINKING. It got me thinking specifically about how people get manipulated because they don't think.

The best part of this movie was them getting on the 4 train one minute and getting off the C train 2 minutes later. Piece of crap! I did like the stupidity of the mob though, very OWS.
