Sacrifice Zones for We The People, and Billions of Dollars for a Few.

[-] 3 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

What?

You thought they wanted to LOWER prices here?

That WE had a chance to reap ANY benefit from all that fracking??

LOL

Keep in mind too, that gasoline reserves are at the highest level they've been at in over 30 years. Prices around here are heading back towards $4.

Supply and demand...............LOL

Hand of the market.............LOL

Yep, my nuts ache too.

LOL - OH that thought sucks - that it should get off of this planet.

[-] 3 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

They're still working on the one under our feet.

Care for a glass of icy cold, sparkling frack water?

Filtered through miles of natural rock and aerated with 75% pure methane, plus other natural ingredients...................

Yum

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

LOL - I may be partial to natural supplements - But - That ain't it. {:-])

[-] 1 points by Nevada1 (5843) 11 years ago

Fracking plus Monsanto. Thinking about the recent version of 'The Day The Earth Stood Still'---Klatu came as a hit man, to end humans, and save all other living things.

Don't worry, they ship the stuff overseas, so your bills stay as high as they can get away with...............:)

All the risk, none of the benefit.

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Gasoline hits 4.40 a gallon in Mn. Expected to continue going up.

Just another reason to get off of Fossil Fuel.

The reason most people will consider - prior to fossil fuel coming and fracking their world - that is.

[-] 3 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

But, but, but.......supply is the highest it's been in many decades!

Supply and demand says it should be less than $2 a gallon.

Ooooops they lied.

There's no such thing these days.

Unless they can gouge even more over it.

It's all natural?

"registered trademark"

Radon.....chemotherapy in your own home as a value added feature of "natural" gas.

↥twinkle ↧stinkle permalink

All Natural?!?! - well then it's gotta be good - they do say so in all their commercials - such nice smiling happy people.

Makes waiting in line a couple of hours at the gas station seem so trivial somehow.

[-] 2 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

Time is money.

Your time = their money.

Just like waiting in line at a store with 15 registers, but only 2 are open.

Yep - there are better alternatives - much better than using fossil fuel.

Wonder what fossil fuels off shore captive consumers will think about getting radon with their natural gas?

Captive consumers of an unregulated market. So be it. Bring on the Clean/Green energy.

Drive society to demand a change. To demand Fossi Fuel be dumped. They will drive society ( part of it anyway ) - like they were beating them with a stick.

[-] -1 points by OTP (-203) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

If it was decentralized the communities would be determining the prices as far as supply and demand go.

You are confusing decentralized with deregulated.

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

They're just gouging you and you like it.

I'm not confused at all.

I just don't like it.

[-] -1 points by OTP (-203) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

This is another example of why I dont like centralized power.

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

Except that it isn't.

It's all about WallStreet and the commodities traders and the charter's that DEMAND constantly rising profit margins.

It's actually pretty decentralized, and VERY damaging.

[-] -2 points by FreeNakoula (-29) 11 years ago

But, but, but... as a good greenie, you MUST realize that alternative energy doesn't have a chance when oil is cheap! Are you a hypocrite or just that fuckin stupid?

[-] 2 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

What's a greenie?

I take it you weren't old enough to know what the price of gas was thirty years ago, when reserves were a bit lower than they are now. If you knew, you wouldn't have said that.

[-] 1 points by OTP (-203) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

Of course. Corporatism will not stop until we have exactly one choice for everything on this planet, and every one of them is corrupted and polluting.

[-] 1 points by Middleaged (5140) 11 years ago

What I'm not a member of WSJ. What did it say? Higher prices for Gas at the pump? No Profit sharing on the Fracking Resources?

[-] 5 points by Middleaged (5140) 11 years ago

After Years of Strategic Stewardship of US Resources... Now we have become just another land to be exploited.

I predict we will see Rich People Leaving parts of the USA in the coming years to move to the Cities, Europe, Mediterranean, or Singapore.

What with all the Ground water getting polluted... and crazy people on the road....

[-] 4 points by gnomunny (6819) from St Louis, MO 11 years ago

I imagine a lot of rich people have already left. And to the very wealthy, leaving doesn't mean the same thing as it does to us. To the average middle-aged American, leaving involves a complete uprooting, including sorting thru and moving 20 or 30 years accumulation of stuff.

To the very wealthy it's a plane ride. A decision to just stay at "one of our other homes."

[-] 3 points by Middleaged (5140) 11 years ago

True, and there is a new Industry in Foreign Countries to guide, assist and match well off Expatriates into gated communities, upscale homes, domiciles on the beach, mountain retreats, farms, ranches, and condos.

There are many Western people with a few bucks stashed, but I think the industry is geared to upscale people since that is where the bigger pay day is.

[-] 2 points by gnomunny (6819) from St Louis, MO 11 years ago

Wow, an industry popped up just to service expats. It never ceases to amaze me that whenever an opportunity arises, no matter what it is, some shrewd individual jumps in to capitalize on it.

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Sorry - no offense intended - but shrewd - or scavenger?

[-] 2 points by gnomunny (6819) from St Louis, MO 11 years ago

Both, maybe? I guess it depends on the opportunity.

The HELL IT WILL (Below}. This will NOT stimulate the economy - it will stimulate fossil fuel and the stock market. It will do SHIT for the American People.

“We find that the exports proposed in this application are likely to yield net economic benefits to the United States,” the Energy Department said in its announcement.

Nearly 20 similar LNG export applications also are under review, including energy giant Dominion’s plan to move fuel from Cove Point in Lusby, Md.
