Read the Rules

Interesting, nothing new or unusual since this is the very path the founding fathers wanted the dark skinned people to follow in the first damn place... So your point is? And why are you utilizing the same degrading methods and terminology for a race of people who require more than what any of you are willing to offer? Must you continue to add insult to injury? Do you not have the solution to bring this country out of this Pale skin nations dominating ideology? Can you help remove the blinders and the wool off a nation of people's eyes and mentalities? Do you know the real and true name of these alleged "negros" that you vehemently pretend to defend? If you do....then you are a traitor, and if you don't then you are a bigot! No in between! Read Marcus Garvey fool, he talked about people like you back in 1929.... So, how in the hell did he know what you and your kind would do?

Explain to the people who they really are....then you can honestly sit back and watch the 'WHITE" feathers fly and pat yourself on the back for posting something great and educational.

Until then, you are truly fooling no one. you RACIST idiot. Now....where is your mother and father?

I cut and pasted the headline of the article as it appeared by it's author. It is therefore a quote and not my words. I am sorry if it offended you perhaps I should re edit it...

[-] 0 points by Neuwurldodr (744) 11 years ago

Oh, thanks for the explanation....

It just seemed to be a repeat of the very problems that keeps nations depraved in thought,

Moving forward....no problem...

I've emailed a link to this thread to the author of the article. I don't know if he would care to or have the time to comment but I felt he ought to be aware of what's being said here about him.

Progress comes in steps...

[-] 0 points by frogmanofborneo (602) from New York, NY 11 years ago

Sometimes progress comes in little steps, sometimes it doesn't seem to come at all. Other times it comes in leaps and bounds.

[-] 0 points by frogmanofborneo (602) from New York, NY 11 years ago

In any case i did edit it as you probably noticed. I am truly sorry about having offended you. Sometimes this issue becomes problematic when that word is used ironically and is quoted by another person.

[-] 1 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

You can make the point without repeating it the slur over & over.

Takes away from the point in fact. Turns people away as well. Seems like you just want to shock. Conversation becomes about the offensive comment & not about the important problem you refer to.

Oh well next time perhaps.

[-] 0 points by frogmanofborneo (602) from New York, NY 11 years ago

It's true. I did not use the word for any reason other than it was the title of the piece I was posting and the language is the language of the author. It might have been his purpose to shock and create a stir. I feel his point is more than valid and is relevant to this forum as OWS is turning its back on the voting rights issue of African Americans here at home. I find that to be the real disgrace. Don't you?

[-] 0 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

I am profoundly disappointed in OWS failure to speak out against the massive republican effort (38 states) to suppress the minority/dem vote.

This failure comes out of OWS claim to not want to be involved with the election, which I also disagree with. But I can discuss the issue without the offensive slurs.

And obviously the author used the word but you posted it. So You don't get a pass. Sorry.

[-] 0 points by frogmanofborneo (602) from New York, NY 11 years ago

The author was making a point that I do agree with. He was using the language he chose to use. He was also using the language he knows his foes use in private. That word has become a problem also due to its ironic use by millions of non white people. It appears s in culture and art ind in political discourse. A great revolutionary artist (IMHO) named Immortal Technique uses that word I suspect for ironic and shock value. It's a part of his message. If I owned a record store and sold one of his records that use that word what would that mean? I think it would mean Immortal Technique has something to say, he wants the world to hear it and I cannot censor him or obscure and obstruct that message as he saw fit to express it without offending his sensibility and his integrity. Same for this article.

[-] 1 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

I ignore the article, never heard of the immortal Technique, & am unimpressed with your posting of this offensive garbage.

I am well informed about these horrible problems, I don't need the racist slur to highlight the point.

It is used by white supremacists to denigrate an entire race!

It ain't art, it ain't cool, & It ain't ok!

Peace out!

LOL.

[-] 1 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

LOL. You told on me?

Please. you think I care? You think I would change my opinion about this offensiveness in a conversation with the author?

I'm a true NY'r born & bred. We ain't ever star struck, we always speak freely, & I'm one of those that speaks up against ism's.

Tell on me if you please.

[-] 0 points by frogmanofborneo (602) from New York, NY 11 years ago

"Told on you" oh please. This issue is an old but contentious one and maybe very important. It may be he'll see it your way and ask me to take this thread down. If he does I'll comply. It may also be my email will go into his spam folder never to be seen.

[-] -1 points by frogmanofborneo (602) from New York, NY 11 years ago

Frankly I think OWS stance comes out of "white leftism" - arrogance towards the African American people particularly. They seem to be able to involve themselves in issues of voting rights in iran, Russia, Mexico without sacrificing their supposed principles..

[-] 1 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

That may be. I haven't analyzed it. In regards to the voter suppression I've been involved with other avenues. And we've had good success opposing the efforts.

OWS failed in that regard, but they got a lot more right. So I gotta embrace their positive and agitate for change of their negative.

[-] 0 points by Neuwurldodr (744) 11 years ago

Well said...

[-] 1 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

Thanks. I gotta stop bumping this offensive garbage up.

[-] 1 points by stevebol (1269) from Milwaukee, WI 11 years ago

Gray has written a number of articles for blackagendareport.com who is very supportive of OWS.

[-] 1 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

Good for him. Doesn't mean I gotta like the use of that racist slur of course right?

[-] 0 points by fiftyfourforty (1077) from New York, NY 11 years ago

Kevin Alexander Gray is a civil rights organizer in South Carolina and author of Waiting for Lightning to Strike! The Fundamentals of Black Politics (CounterPunch/AK Press) and a contributor to Hopeless: Barack Obama and the Politics of Illusion. He can be reached at kagamba@bellsouth.net.

[-] 1 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

Yeah I saw that earlier. I don't give a shit who wrote this crap. Am I supposed to be impressed somehow by his accomplishments?

I ain't. My opinion is unchanged.

[-] 0 points by stevebol (1269) from Milwaukee, WI 11 years ago

Take it up with him. I never said you have to like it, accept it, etc...

[-] 0 points by fiftyfourforty (1077) from New York, NY 11 years ago

I consider myself to still be an OWS supporter, just not a supporter of certain policies and stances taken by its unaccountable non leading leadership. They actually do not "own" OWS even though it may seem they do.

[-] 0 points by stevebol (1269) from Milwaukee, WI 11 years ago

Who is they?

[-] 0 points by fiftyfourforty (1077) from New York, NY 11 years ago

Excellent question. Who is "they" that decide OWS go all out for Pussy Riot and intervention in Syria, and have lots to say about election procedures in Mexico, Iran and Russia but say and do nada, zilch nothing regarding the campaign going on to deprive African Americans of their rights to vote. I'd like to meet these "theys" so I could have a conversation with them.

[-] 1 points by frogmanofborneo (602) from New York, NY 11 years ago

I'm not so much smarter than this author Kevin Alexander Gray that I can tell him what words and what grammar he ought to use. In fact i don't doubt he could out write, me out debate me and teach me about writing and language as well. That's why his article is posted on a widely read website that vetts its authors (Counterpunch) and I am here only to help him be heard. Given he presented it to Counterpunch for them to consider publishing and given that they found it of merit I am not going to retreat further on this matter. I'd like to see an exchange between Mr. Gray and you. Good luck with that.

LOL

[-] 0 points by frogmanofborneo (602) from New York, NY 11 years ago

Well, maybe you ought to analyze it. To me the conclusion is inescapable on two fronts - OWS is an arrogant "white left" formation and it also permits itself out of this same arrogance, to be used as a tool for the pursuit of PTB foriegn policy objectives.

[-] 2 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

Yeah. I'm good embracing the good of OWS while agitating for the change in OWS weaknesses.

Thanks. I know they don't throw around the racists slurs that white supremacists use to denigrate an entirerace! They got that goin for them.

[-] 0 points by Neuwurldodr (744) 11 years ago

I agree....we scarcely know the meaning of most words or why and how they came to be or continue to remain.

Education is always necessary when dealing with these types of issues. .

Well, it is apparent that OWS has bigger issues, and people of color is not one of them, as noted on this forum We must realize...and this is why I emphasize, along with others... the wheres, hows and whys regarding the "initiation" of this country, this nation, who started it, who it was started by, intended for and why.
Diversity is a wonderful concept, but people tend to live in this falsely created bubble of illusion by failing to understand the true workings of this government, until like OWS, it begins to take the food off their own tables and doesn't put any money in their own pockets, or care for their families. It was never a problem back when it took place to people of color....but we must understand now why OWS exists. Now it is happening to "THEM" !

I am here to let us know, OWS has the right to exist, but people of color and their citizenship concerns are much greater than OWS. People of color also have deeper ingrained matters that they must attend to as well, such as their own survival and future within this country, this government and this nation.

[-] 0 points by frogmanofborneo (602) from New York, NY 11 years ago

Agreed. Thank you for that.

[-] 0 points by Neuwurldodr (744) 11 years ago

You are sincerely welcome.
Let us all remember the climate of the forum we are on. They cannot solve the problems of the true nations of people (who were and are still many) that were and (still are) on these shores before the "USA" came into existence. We are still here, forging ahead and making strides to reach back to lift up those who we must.. It was done for us....WE ARE STILL HERE....so let us not forget our own in the middle of this modern day madness!! OWS is only a small part of this whole fake fiasco of indoctrination....

[-] -1 points by Grimreaper2 (-318) 11 years ago

Very interesting. But where does this lead us?

[-] 1 points by frogmanofborneo (602) from New York, NY 11 years ago

Progressives supposedly are against white supremacism and are against the oppression of minorities. This is supposedly a progressive forum. The "Black question" or "Black issue" is central to US politics. This article illustrates how the politically easy thing to do in the USA is to "kick a nigger."

Even the first Black president engages in it to a modest extent. That means the political status and therefore the real actual material future of the African American people is tenuous. Therefore a progressive ought to take action to reduce "kick a nigger" politics. Therefore a progressive ought to be against the mobilization of white supremacy and "kick a nigger" politics and a real and meaningful way - like voting against the racist white supremacist candidate.

[-] -1 points by Grimreaper2 (-318) 11 years ago

The black question is. Central to politics? Says who?

[-] 1 points by frogmanofborneo (602) from New York, NY 11 years ago

Find yourself a google and look up "Lee Atwater, nigger nigger nigger", look up "angry white guy strategy", and even go back to "Missouri compromise" "civil war" (which you may call "the war of northern aggression"), "reconstruction". Come back in around a year and we'll talk more.

[-] 0 points by Grimreaper2 (-318) 11 years ago

Those make blacks the center of American politics? You are an amazingly ignorant person.
