Forum Post: is OWS really a voice for weak, beta type males?

Posted 12 years ago on Jan. 7, 2012, 10:44 a.m. EST by DiogenesTruth (108)
This content is user submitted and not an official statement

all statistics show that women have overwhelmed men in the marketplace. 60% of all college degrees go to women. more than 50% of medical, dental, vet school students are female. i dont know about law and engineering. in the black community, 80% of college degrees go to women. for all degrees, the trend is accelerating at such a rate, that its possible that in very short time, 72% of all college degrees will go to females. demographers get concerned when statistical numbers between males/females vary by .5%, and now we have a variance of 10%.

basically it appears men have simply become very lazy, and women have filled the void. and it is quite noticable here that most of the voices on this forum are men, and they want laws that make work easier, higher paid, and more leisure time. they surely dont want to work for it, with weird ideas of $20 minimum wages and dollar/ coin systems, and $126000 entry level jobs.

women clearly are choosing a different tactic, strapping on their high heels and going to college and getting to work. this recession was disproportionate un its effect on men, who lost jobs well in excess of women.

is OWS the outlet for lesser, uncompetitive men? i am leaning that way. and for goodness sake, how will all these alpha females find suitable partners if so many men have checked out of personal growth? the image of the back sliding male being puleed along by a hard charging female is funny.

is OWS the outlet for lesser, uncompetitive men?

you are a fool.

this movement is in large measure all about holding people accountable - this nation has incurred debt - debt due to war, debt due to the economic collapse - and you would have us refuse to pay that debt.

you would have us tank the economy even further with such nonsense.

Revenue will be raised to meet our common obligation.

And we will hold those accountable for promoting fiscal policy and economic theory that has proven itself a sham.

The movie Inside Job makes it quite clear: Conservatives set to implement financial deregulation as far back as the late 1970s, and part of that process included the appointment to the Supreme Court

  • Conservative Activist Judges

And it is clear - as that process began to bear fruit, Conservatives began screaming about Liberal Activist Judges, and thus distract the public from their process of Activism toward deregulation.

  • repeliKans are liars

  • repeliKans with their process of deregulation have fucked the American public.

  • repeliKans continue to lie about Global Warming

  • repeliKans will soon reap the harvest they have sown

The people are coming. You can't stop it. You can't avoid it. And in fact, you will benefit.

Unless of course, you get in the way. Then there's just no tellin'.

And what do you do? Kiss the feet of criminals like Corzine and Diamon because they have managed to make a living gambling with the citizens money and keeping their criminal ethics below the surface enough to be in reach of the highest office's in the land ? You must be very proud.

[-] -1 points by DiogenesTruth (108) 12 years ago

i have a degree in hard science, and own a business and teach at a university and do ok.

what degree do you have? it is a very serious question.

[-] 4 points by opensociety4us (914) from Norwalk, CT 12 years ago

actually, it's not a very serious question. OWS asks serious questions.

[-] 1 points by beautifulworld (23771) 12 years ago

It's interesting how interested they are in our backgrounds, isn't it?

[-] 2 points by blackbloc (-19) 12 years ago

having a degree from oral roberts in "hard science" is a little misleading don't you think. teaching at oral roberts and claiming to teach at a university is a little bit of a stretch.

[-] 2 points by UncomonSense (386) 12 years ago

That does not make you smart any more than having money does.

[-] -1 points by DiogenesTruth (108) 12 years ago

then what does? i remember when i was a little kid the teachers said i had an iq of 155. but we cant use iq. and now, by your definition, we cant use a college dgree and a doctorate, or use a growing business employing 22 people.

so how do we define smart?

[-] 2 points by blackbloc (-19) 12 years ago

intelligence and the ability to learn are not equal to wisdom which you severely lack.

[-] 2 points by Rico (3027) 12 years ago

Pretty easy, by the quality of one's arguments. A man can be very smart in one topic but absurd in another. We see it all the time. That's one reason why I get so mad when I see people quoting Einstein in regards economics or actors in regards politics.

The quality of one's arguments, in my opinion, is defined by the discipline to vet sources and use only those that are defensibly credible, the willingness to share those sources so people can evaluate the data and challenge your conclusions, application of sound logic and reasoning to the facts (i.e. care in confusing correlation and causation), the ability to effectively communicate ideas, and a respectful tone.

"Smart" is a relative term that can only be assessed via expression and evaluation. In pure verbal dialog such as we engage in here, expression is via language and communication skills, so they are paramount. Good communication skills alone, however, do not satisfy the need, they are simply a prerequisite.

"Respect" is vital if "Smart" is to be effective or meaningful in verbal discussion. When we seek to convey our ideas to another, we should not be seeking to win or show how "smart" we are, but to exchange insights to the mutual benefit of both parties. When someone in discussion seeks to prove he is "smart" he is trying to assert that he's somehow better than the other man in order to feed his own ego. This self serving motivation runs contrary to the purpose of sharing and developing insights (unless that insight is "I think I'm smart").

Why do we bother with all this discussion ? Why don't we all just believe what we want to believe ? I engage in conversation to get the perspectives of others in the hopes of finding more objective truth.

Remember the old story about the 3 men viewing an elephant through 3 different holes in a fence ? Each sees a different animal according to his own perspective. Each of these perspectives represents a local subjective truth partially obscured by the observer's biases and lack of information. Very seldom does one of them alone reflect the full truth of the elephant. If, however, we let the men talk so each can describe the perspective from which he was looking and what he saw, we can collectively vet our observations for quality and relevance then integrate them to move closer to an objective truth.

Don't worry whether you or someone else is "smart." I've met a lot of people who didn't think they were smart who had amazing insights and many others who claimed to be smart then proved themselves terribly uninformed. Respect your fellow man and seek mutual education and growth.

The "smart" label is less than worthless, it's destructive.

[-] 1 points by opensociety4us (914) from Norwalk, CT 12 years ago

sounds perfectly reasonable to me

[-] 0 points by justhefacts (1275) 12 years ago

Exactly.

[-] -1 points by Thrasymaque (-2138) 12 years ago

Remember the old story about the 3 men viewing an elephant through 3 different holes in a fence ? Each sees a different animal according to his own perspective. Each of these perspectives is just as true as the other, but none of them reflect the full truth of the elephant. If, however, we let the men talk, let each define the perspective from which he was looking and what he saw, we can collectively integrate our observations to discover only the elephant fits all observations. We discuss and trade perspectives in order to move beyond subjective truth to a more objective truth.

You're dabbling in relativism and this contradicts your prior statements which clearly defined how one should debate in a proper manner. The truth is, all view points and opinions are not worth the same. Everyone is not logical. This becomes crystal clear after reading only a few posts on this forum. There is a big difference between the conspiracy theorists, and those who seek to find knowledge using the scientific method. You should not equate the two.

If I debate on these boards it is to learn from intelligent posters such as yourself, but it is also to slay lame ideas that could become dangerous if put into practice.

[-] 0 points by Rico (3027) 12 years ago

It was an analogy that served the point at hand, but I see your objection. I added emphasis to the fact that each individual truth is local and subjective. The extent to which any single observation reflects objective truth depends on whether the observer can see the full scene. For practical reasons, we generally set some subjective limits on what defines a sufficiently "full scene," but I'm not sure we can ever say anyone's view is full. Most views are partially obscured by our own experience and biases.

Regardless of the correction, I in now way suggested that each perspective should be assigned equal weight. Instead, each needs to be evaluated for both quality (what parts of the observations are accurate and from what perspective were the observations made?) and relevance (is he looking at the same thing everyone else is looking at?) before integration into the whole. Vetting of information before integration is a difficult task that depends on knowledge of each observer's perspective. Fortunately, all men interested in building a more objective truth work together in this task, and many have observations of the observers that can help determine the quality and relevance of a perspective.

[-] -2 points by Thrasymaque (-2138) 12 years ago

In that case, you should perhaps rewrite the analogy.

Each of these perspectives is just as true as the other, but none of them reflect the full truth of the elephant.

If, however, we let the men talk, let each define the perspective from which he was looking and what he saw,

I don't think each perspective is necessarily as true as the others, and I don't think we should necessarily let each witness define his perspective. I think scientists should be placed above conspiracy theorists and that the latter should be given very little time at the podium, if any. I think it's important to choose who we give a voice to. There was a time when editors carefully chose which authors deserved to be published. Unfortunately, in the age of the Internet most anyone can publish anything. This gives us a flood of mediocre information. We are all drowning in the flood.

[-] -2 points by Rico (3027) 12 years ago

I modified the language pretty extensively, and I think it's better thanks to your comments. I strengthened the subjective nature of the local truths and added a weighting function for each based on bias and information. I also made the integration a collective process based on quality and relevance.

The difference between the input from a scientist and a nut-case is, I beleve, captured in the definition of "quality," so I don't think we need go to far down that path in the analogy. I defined quality in the preceding paragraphs then incorporated it in the collective vetting process. The power of analogy is in it's brevity.

I agree that there are many who fail the quality test right out of the gate. Folks who bring low quality information into debate are simply not worth the time. I have taken to the practice of calling "Bullshit !" and raising the flag to alert others to unsubstantiated assertion. I think this call should be institutionalized like "Mic Check!"

Yep, the internet is a God-send for those who invest the time to find truth, but it seems we are rare. On balance, I think we as a society were better off with editors. For this very same reason, I am fond of pointing out to people that "direct democracy" would end up looking like these forums. What a mess.

[-] -2 points by Thrasymaque (-2138) 12 years ago

Wow! Much better. You write very well. It's a joy to read your comments. I wish more posters on this forum took the time to clarify their statements like you just did. Big thumbs up.

[-] 1 points by 666isMONEY (348) 12 years ago

Big difference between being smart & wise: U can be very smart but blind** to the signs of the times. Smart ppl can be ignorant, bigoted, naive. My older sister is an example: when I mentioned the forensics and logistics of the 6,000,000 or 911, she had a knee-jerk cognitive-dissonance reaction.

** Classic Greeks said, pride, ignorance, covetousness & love made ppl blind.

good question how do we define smart. The ability to find ones course in life, and not follow the herd like lamb to the slaughter = go to college and get a cubicle in a corporation and remain clueless how things really work. Breaking free from the herd, and realizing that our nation is set up against freedom, and punishes you for forming your own business, and government both state and federal stand in line to penalize you for hiring employees, charging excessive insurances, taxes, mandating monthly expenses in bookwork and accounting fees, by creating so many categories for your expenses, that you practically have to quit your business just to do the book work, when in fact, most residents when they call for a price for your service, they are really only interested in paying you some profit for your service, not a bunch of other government, insurance, accountant, or secretary positions as well. thus our society has moved towards corporates only succeeding and just isnt friendly towards small business which is where the majority of jobs are created.

[-] 0 points by opensociety4us (914) from Norwalk, CT 12 years ago

It doesn't occur to a dullard philistine such as yourself that many people don't spend too much time thinking about what defines "smart". Many people do, however, spend much time thinking about why some people who are considered "smart" can behave so downright idiotically, unethically and immorally. I applaud that type of critical thinking as it takes courage, which is something I value higher than "smart" as it is so rare, especially among those considered "smart".

Back to your original question - I don't know how we define "smart" but your post and comments certainly have given me a clearer understanding of how we define "asshole".

[-] 1 points by nickhowdy (1104) 12 years ago

"It is a very serious question" ...No it's not...You are just comparing intellectual dick size in this particular version of Plato's cave..Your education means little outside this paradigm and so does mine...

Enlightenment isn't something they teach in school..

[-] 1 points by demcapitalist (977) 12 years ago

My degree is in art, I learned about the markets later on and on my own. Your post lets me know that you have done no serious study of how the banks/markets got into the mess they are in. It's the math , it's pseudo science of minimizing risk, it's the brightest minds in America "proving" mathematically that if you have crap and you make a big enough pile of it, it transforms into something other than crap---big surprise, it didn't work. Not only that it's salesmen at banks selling unsophisticated big investors things they know are crap and taking huge profits. If you do even a little work on the subject you might learn a few things, as a scientist you should be interested in something besides attempting to emasculate the folks who protest an unethical financial system. I don't actually think you do much science ---sounds like a bit of BS.

[-] 1 points by opensociety4us (914) from Norwalk, CT 12 years ago

you're correct. don't let the complicated equations fool you as all they did was fool "the smartest guys in the room" that there was no risk.

the charlatan bankers/traders/salespeople arrogantly applied statistical methods to social phenomena (markets), then massively leveraged up (borrowed), generated returns and collected bonuses until the risk they said was improbable finally materialized (it all blew up). And then they walked away from it all, keeping their bonus money and leaving the taxpayer to clean up the mess.

despite all of the complicated math, it boils down to the risk profile of a very simple trade called "selling deep out of the money uncovered options" - using massive leverage to bet against highly improbable events. the trade can go on for quite some time with no hiccups allowing the charlatan bankers/traders/salespeople to generate handsome returns, look like geniuses and collect bonuses. and then finally, as it always does, kaboom! the event these charlatans said was highly improbable occurs and, because of the leverage they're using, the dollar losses extend way beyond what the bankers/traders/salespeople have and cause other people who had nothing to do with the trade to have to make up the loss (bailout).

[-] 1 points by demcapitalist (977) 12 years ago

Beautiful ! If there were more folks like you who really" get it " there might be some hope of fixing it ! Never thought of it as uncovered calls --pretty good. Any one should be able to write uncovered calls with their own money but not with mine ! Of course most people who understand uncovered calls will also understand CDS.

[-] 1 points by opensociety4us (914) from Norwalk, CT 12 years ago

There are many who understand it. They just need encouragement to speak out about it.

uncovered calls and puts - it's no coincidence that many brokerage firms won't even let you do it in your account. And if they do, they require massive deposits because they know what eventually happens and they don't want to be left holding the bag when you blow up your account.

2012 could be the year of CDS

[-] 1 points by demcapitalist (977) 12 years ago

I am seeing more people speaking up, I do give the folks at OWS credit for giving people the nerve to tell the truth. OK what do you mean by 2012 could be the year of the CDS ? worse than AIG ?

Yeah, it's weak beta type males that protest at the front door of Goldman Sachs.

...I suspect you're afraid.

[+] -5 points by DiogenesTruth (108) 12 years ago

actually banging on a door protesting (whining) sounds a lot like a weak, beta male. basically a sniveling, submissive yellow belly. "oh please you bad goldman sachs power brokers, stop being so mean to us and give us your money."

how about organizing a 3rd party and getting out the vote instead?

[-] 4 points by opensociety4us (914) from Norwalk, CT 12 years ago

anonymously posting tough guy dissent in a forum such as this sounds a lot more like weak beta male shit to me. i'd put the guys at the front door of goldman sachs up against you any day, chickenhawk.

"how about organizing a 3rd party and getting out the vote instead?"

...they're way ahead of you, coward.

[-] -2 points by DiogenesTruth (108) 12 years ago

what is your college degree, please? mine is a BS in biochemistry and a doctorate.

[-] 2 points by nickhowdy (1104) 12 years ago

Sound like BS to me..

[-] 2 points by opensociety4us (914) from Norwalk, CT 12 years ago

"BS in biochemistry and a doctorate" or not. it has nothing to do with being a coward, which you are.

[-] -1 points by DiogenesTruth (108) 12 years ago

whats your degree, please?

[-] 3 points by opensociety4us (914) from Norwalk, CT 12 years ago

i have a degree in fuck you. do you have any idea how silly, weak and insecure you look demanding people state their degrees when you're backed into a corner? it's no wonder you obsess about alpha/beta males.

[-] -2 points by DiogenesTruth (108) 12 years ago

no, i dont. because the OP is about men failing to keep pace with women in acquiring degrees. on another forum, i could see it, but not on this thread. this is about degrees.

i will assume you dont have a degree and you are on this forum whining. you totally make my point. thank you.

[-] 2 points by opensociety4us (914) from Norwalk, CT 12 years ago

and your point is a fantasy as you erroneously insist that social reality fit into your deeply flawed and bogus statistical models (see Taleb) which cover your fallacious thinking and validate your biases.

you can assume whatever you'd like about me so as to address your feelings of inadequacy. you can wonder about whether I have a degree or not and if so, what exactly it is. You can spend your precious emotional energy wondering whether i make more money than you or not. You'll never know.

It's arrogant fools like you that crash the hardest and, when in power, crash "it" the hardest.

[-] 1 points by opensociety4us (914) from Norwalk, CT 12 years ago

"because the OP is about men failing to keep pace with women in acquiring degrees"

actually it's not, most of us here see right through you.

[-] 1 points by TrevorMnemonic (5827) 12 years ago

I went to school for a degree in audio and video. I never finished because I got a great job within my first 2 years at college. I would have finished but my work hours competed with my schooling and I wasn't going to turn down 30 grand a year salary with benefits at the age of 21. It's a field where your talent is more important than a piece of paper. I got that job at 21. Now I'm 24 and I have an even better job as a director for the news in my state. Wanna fight about it?

[-] 1 points by opensociety4us (914) from Norwalk, CT 12 years ago

[-] 2 points by opensociety4us (914) from Norwalk, CT 12 years ago

why don't you ask the women in OWS?

(thank you, OccupyLink)

[-] 2 points by julianzs (147) 12 years ago

Perhaps women can finally undo the 3.5 million year old shackles of inequality. We can at last write that "all humans are equal....etc."

[-] 0 points by Rico (3027) 12 years ago

Women make better leaders. I seem to recall it having been proven at some point. No matter, it's been my personal experience and my observation that women are simply better leaders. Not only that, but as our economy has moved from brawn to brain, women seem to be ascendant. The only refuge for us guys is now as sperm donors, entertainers, and athletes. Oh, and warriors. We still seem particularity good at that, but we need you women to help keep us out of war !

Actually, men are getting more jobs than women right now. From USA Today "Men are claiming more than two-thirds of the private-sector jobs created as the economy recovers..."

I'm even trying to get rid of the TV altogether, my life is much more interesting, me being an imaginary pimp, driving around in my giant white wall tired, 1970's Cadillac with chandeliers mounted on the fenders and all.

Hey, aren't your favorite people debating right now ? I gotta go watch. It's always entertaining.

yes it is.

In the us corporate controlled state, advertisers focus mostly on the female. human female minds are more easily conditioned to believe that buying things can bring her happiness. and education is the means to get money to buy what she craves.------------------------- The male, on the other hand only seems to be interested in sex and violence. Beer commercials are most effective.

Wow. based on all the vitriol this thread is getting, i nailed OWS to a tee. dead on bullseye.

the stats above cannot be disputed. look them up.

[-] 1 points by opensociety4us (914) from Norwalk, CT 12 years ago

The only thing you nailed is the fact that you're a shallow inductive thinker who thinks stats are conclusions.

[-] -1 points by blackbloc (-19) 12 years ago

you would know about being a beta male.

[-] -1 points by blackbloc (-19) 12 years ago

you only think it is all male because women do not pick feminine screen names so they can be treated as equals by tools like you.

[-] -1 points by richardkentgates (3269) 12 years ago

Fishing much? I'd be willing to bet that within the day, you will be talked down to like a bitch at least 2 times today and you won't do a god damn thing about it. When those instances occur, I want you to think of me.

[-] -1 points by DiogenesTruth (108) 12 years ago

excuse me, we have today a variance of 20%. that is an ominous figure, frightening in its distortion.

[-] 1 points by opensociety4us (914) from Norwalk, CT 12 years ago

the only frightening thing here is the reminder that there are assholes such as yourself out there arrogantly and dangerously applying Gaussian thinking to complex environments.

[-] -2 points by smartcapitalist (143) 12 years ago

I agree. OWS is a hang out for losers.

[-] 3 points by UncomonSense (386) 12 years ago

[-] 3 points by opensociety4us (914) from Norwalk, CT 12 years ago

you lost your cover when you went over 5 posts. and still, you're hangin out.

...loser

[-] 0 points by smartcapitalist (143) 12 years ago

What 'excuse' do you have for your presence here? Why dont you go get a job? Our office needs a guy who can bring coffee and donuts every hours for us, the salary would be good for the kind of job it is and there would be tip on top of that. Wanna apply for the job? I put in a good word for you with the HR.

[-] 2 points by beautifulworld (23771) 12 years ago

Why are you on the OWS website, smartcapitalist? Why do you defend the interests of the 1%? Are you part of the 1%? If not, why do you defend their interests instead of your own?

[-] 1 points by ZenDogTroll (13032) from South Burlington, VT 12 years ago

why do you defend their interests instead of your own?

there s/he goes again!

confusing the poor sod with the issue of whose interests are whose and where, exactly, his might fit . . .

he's gonna fry a circuit on that one!

[-] 0 points by smartcapitalist (143) 12 years ago

I have heard this question too many times. Firstly, I am not defending anyone's interest. I am merely pointing out your hypocrisy. Besides I find you guys and your demands and sense of self importance quite funny. I have passed you on my way to work a few times but I avoided so as to not become a target of mob hysteria. But now that my work load is a little less hectic and I am temporarily out of the country on work related stuff, I have somewhat more time and I decided to waste it on making fun of you.

[-] 1 points by beautifulworld (23771) 12 years ago

You live with a lot of fear. You are reactionary and you live in fear. Hurling insults at us isn't going to change our minds so go somewhere else.

[-] 0 points by smartcapitalist (143) 12 years ago

The only fear I have is that we have a generation of whiners who think they are entitled to everything and responsible for nothing, a generation that took the easy way out of life studying for degrees that were easy to acquire but useless for all practical purposes. I am sure nothing I say would change any of your minds. After all you have the gumption to ask banks to forgive your student loans that you yourself took with full awareness of the consequences. My fear is that the American spirit is getting lost to a bunch of pseudo commies.

And yes, watch this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVO8RtKyreg

[-] 1 points by beautifulworld (23771) 12 years ago

Your ideas scare me. So does the guy in the cab. You have some nerve calling the young people of today whiners and entitled. They have it worse off then any generation since the Great Depression. How freakin' dare you.

[-] 0 points by smartcapitalist (143) 12 years ago

Stop seething in self pity. This generation has it pretty good. I am not sure where these fools got the notion that just having a degree should guarantee a job. Surely things are a little bad at the moment and I agree to that. But in a year or two, things should look up. And yes they are a bunch of entitled whiners. The other day I saw on the OWS tumblr blog some lady saying she works 30 hrs a week on social causes (part time that too) and was complaining that she earns only $30k a month. Another girl whining how she can't support a kid while she is unmarried and still in undergrad, who asked her to get pregnant? Their problems are largely of their own making. I see OWS protesters brandishing ipads and SLRs and complaining about 'big corporations' and wearing designer clothing and shoes. Well, if that's not having a good life what is? You can't have it all, unless of course your grandpa is Conrad Hilton.

The cabbie is right. He is an Indian immigrant who drives a cab and he is physically challenged. Yet he makes a living, he is sending his kids to school. He is very likely having it far better than what he could have in his own country.

As a math geek, I always considered Liberal Arts was for losers who did not have brains. I stand vindicated.

[-] 1 points by beautifulworld (23771) 12 years ago

Evidently you didn't learn to think critically. You are a judgmental reactionary with blinders on. You also obviously don't know any young people today, either. They can whip your ass at math. They just can find jobs because their unemployment rate is higher than the national rate.

http://www.numbersusa.org/pages/unemployment-rate-young-adults

[-] 0 points by smartcapitalist (143) 12 years ago

For one I am not all that old either. For another people with math skills are still having it better than liberal arts hippies http://economix.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/01/05/want-a-job-go-to-college-and-dont-major-in-architecture/?hp

[-] 2 points by beautifulworld (23771) 12 years ago

Yes. A world with no historians, no philosophers, no sociologists, no literati, no economists, no musicians, etc. what a wonderful world that would be.

[-] -1 points by smartcapitalist (143) 12 years ago

I never said they shouldn't be there. And economists are very useful btw. All I am saying is transgender studies or women studies aren't all that useful and won't get you jobs. Same for history and even philosophy or English.

[-] 1 points by opensociety4us (914) from Norwalk, CT 12 years ago

"My fear is that the American spirit is getting lost to a bunch of pseudo commies."

you make no sense, idiot. if you must fear them, it's commies, not pseudo commies you should fear.

[-] 1 points by opensociety4us (914) from Norwalk, CT 12 years ago

honestly, man. i feel sorry for you. there's a risk you could get emotionally damaged sticking around here. just leave while you're a lot behind, not massively behind.

you are fucking delusional if you think you are a worthy target of mob hysteria

oh that's right, you're the good little boy who believes the bankers (and doesn't ask questions)

[-] 0 points by smartcapitalist (143) 12 years ago

sucka!

"OWS is a hang out for losers"

you made the comment, moron, not me. you're the one who needs an excuse for sticking around for more than 5 posts, not me.

as for a job, no thanks. i have already have an income, a 1% kind of income. and i don't have to "put in 16-18 hrs a day and even work on weekends" if you know what i mean. and that's because i'm "smart".

Wow, just wow. I am flabbergasted. instead of competing on an intellectual level, thought versus thought, he hides behind the most ugly sexual debasement.

Quite honestly, and iwont pull punches, women have basically kicked the shit out of men in all fields of competition. many of us men have turned into the saddest bunch of whiners there is. and as above, when we cant compete, we degrade. its pathetic.

No problem. I caught him once a few months ago and jart banned him then. I hope she'll be back soon and can do it again. In the meantime, watch out for other users who display his style. He has a ton of usernames on here and he sometimes creates discussions between his own users.

you are nothing but a goat

and now I am

staring

here - have a frizbee - fuckwad

you are a fool.

this movement is in large measure all about holding people accountable - this nation has incurred debt - debt due to war, debt due to the economic collapse - and you would have us refuse to pay that debt.

you would have us tank the economy even further with such nonsense.

The comment I made was about a month ago .. why are you suddenly so upset about it now .. what was all that friendly talk we had since .. perhaps you and Thrasy are more a like than I give you credit for.

Say what you want, the moderators have your IP and they have mine. They can check this for themselves and tell everyone who is who and what is what.

Those who know Thrasymaque know that I never post vulgar material. I trust that the honest users here will want to know the truth. I know the conspiracy theorists will accuse me, but I'll take the hit if it can help the forum. Iv'e been taking their hits for weeks now. I'm still here. It doesn't bother me. I haven't been banned because the moderators look at IPs.

[-] -2 points by Thrasymaque (-2138) 12 years ago

What are you? A high-school student paid by America Inc. a group of hard right conservative Christians? You work with the TV spammers? You're unable to leave your home because of some sickness, so you took this crappy job of trying to disrupt this forum? You have no friends? You're so lame.

I can understand that an idiot like you would take up a job to disrupt this forum. A job's a job and it's hard for people like you to find work. That, I understand. But, there really is no reason to sexually harass members of the forum. That's really vulgar and absolutely useless. At least have the decency to stick to your job's requirement which is to trick people into wasting their time discussing the lame ideas you bring up with your horde of usernames.

[-] -3 points by Thrasymaque (-2138) 12 years ago

FriendlyObserverA, blackbloc, grapes, computer, 1169, thrasymkay, and a host of other usernames are the same person. He changes users every 15 minutes and is being paid to disrupt this forum. He is the one who posted porn a few weeks ago. He posted links to porn once again yesterday, and has been sexually harassing April all day today.

Help this forum by writing a private message to the forum moderators and jart. Ask them to cross reference his IP to get a list of all his users. They should show us this list and ban his IP.

[-] 1 points by NewEngIandPatriot (230) 12 years ago

I am done. I abandon this forum so I can return to my path without further distraction. I have faced the "mirror" and it is time "everyone" does the same.

Your profile has an lesson that many refuse to accept. This lesson does not have to be repeated, come back to where we once were.

Let them be.....I surrender, my brother, there is no fight out there anymore.

[-] -1 points by Thrasymaque (-2138) 12 years ago

My days here are also numbered. I'm thinking of taking a hiatus and coming back later to see if the moderators have taken care of the spam attacks and the many sock puppets. I can't do anything more to help. This is a job for the moderators. In truth, there are only a few good posters on this forum. I can count them on both my hands.

[-] 2 points by NewEngIandPatriot (230) 12 years ago

Yea time to retreat , perhaps return once the mess has been cleared. I will remain in observation and pop in from time to time. It has become evident that this forum is nothing but a "collective sampling" for what humanity has become and is ultimately destined for. Self destruction.

Pull yourself out of the mess, many are too far gone to look toward the light now.

We can all try to help where we can, but the battle isn't out here.. Let them fight amongst themselves, I will focus help with those chosen in my life.

Sometimes this place has the potential to bring the worst out in many.

It is not for us to judge each other, it is up to us to judge ourselves; through these lessons we can prevail, and we can always learn from others' mistakes.

I bid farewell; take care
