Something to ponder, from the late, great Flannery O'Connor
I think man, in creating God, somewhat overestimated his ability.
Technically god might be a he-she, or hermaphrodite.
Does not create a good visual for me. But I think I get the concept.
Just reading into the plural references in the beginning of Genesis... "Let us make mankind in our image"
you are a very smart, astute person, I need to look at my Bible, more often.
"I think god created man because he was disappointed with the monkey."-- Mark Twain
Good one Beamer. Did you ever read any of Flannery O'Conor's stuff? She is, (was) super, excellent.
Thanks, I'll look into her stuff.
i believe o' Connor never met a man with the world at his fingertips.
“You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you odd.”
an odd ball in a squire (sic) world.
Well, only when you come to the realization that both your perception and your experience of reality
is elastic.
It can drive you mad.
Here - have a bone:

has it driven you there? It's a short drive for me.
Judge for yourself - I have a website. Usually that convinces most people.
My profile has links to stuff I've posted here and the link to my website too. I could be right out of my mind . . .
Define what you mean by "God" please queenann. Do you mean a "Man-in-the-Sky" who continuously creates all psychological-physical existence...or just stands back and watches?
I think He is beyond our human understanding. But he is definitely involve in things!
the computer is making man god, we are witnessing birthing pains. God is understanding. no?
God is mercy most of all.... That is a good thing for alot of us.
would it not have always been the devil who underestimated God?
good point Jesse. you are on your toes....and an present a theologically sound question.
Who is your antecedent, God or man?
what?
"I think God, in creating man, somewhat overestimated his ability." What is the antecedent of "his", God or man? The conundrum assumes greater understanding when we admit that God did not create man, but man created God, a fact that O'Connor, a Georgia Catholic, would not likely admit. Anyway, for wisdom let us call upon Schopenhauer who wrote for enduring posterity, not a fiction writer who wrote for the moment.
Did God create TROLLS as well, or are they creations of the 1% ??? :o)

That song was written by the late great Laura Nyro. She recorded it also, sounds better than B S and T, In my humble opinion.
