No rhyme or reason, but they do widen the discussion, so at least trolls are being exposed to thoughts, that in and of itself is a sign of the success of OWS, that they find it necessary to expose their opposition or disgust or whatever to this movement actually exposes them to the movement, thus creating something that wasn't there before, an opportunity for a mind to be opened. So to whomever is paying the trolls, thanks for the opportunity to spread the message.

Yes, and thank you for CREATING JOBS!!! I estimate there are about 300 full-time trolls on this site, working various shifts, that's 300 jobs indirectly created by OWS since the beginning of this month... Has Obama done as well, I wonder????

There is a rhyme and reason to it. It's big business. People make money trolling. Various, (mostly politically charged but also corporate and/or PR related) issues have been exposed for the use of astroturfers over and over
