In order to have impact on Corporate America and have them take notice you really need to hit them in the wallet. I think that you should publish a list of companies who we should avoid patronizing and a similar list of those we should promote. For example, Walmart is going to be the death of this country from it's purchasing of most goods from China, not providing healthcare, not giving people a full 40 hour week, etc. etc. etc. Bank of America anyone who has an account with them should pull it and open it in a more OWS bank. It is the only way to get those corporate drone's to pay attention.

It would hurt them more to take away their power and influence in government.
1% buy their representation. 99% are left with the scraps. We need to change the political system.

What's wrong w/ Dump Your Bank Day on November 8th? That IS making a statement, loud and clear. It's actually doing something and not just talking about doing something.

And the commentary isn't to patronize no business but provide guidance on businesses we should patronize.

If we could just stop dissing everyone we have a beef with and start working on the big items like WALL STREET we would get a whole lot further. The others will come later.

DUMP YOUR BANK DAY. Imagine all Occupy supporters across the country going down to close their bank accounts and open up credit union accounts on the same day.

Let's do a Dump Your Bank Day!!! Tuesday November 8th.

We are unhappy with banks, their policies, their profits, their bailouts, lets do more than talk about it, protest about it, let's DO something about it.

Let's have Dump Your Bank Day on what would be "election day" ... First Tuesday after the first Monday in November... TUESDAY NOVEMBER 8, 2011.

What better way to send a message to our elected officials?

Those of us who already have credit unions will show our support by marching in the Financial District and/or holding signs near local credit unions that say "We Dumped Our Bank Today"

Yes, patronize no business and run naked! Eat nothing you dodn't grow yourself - unless you grew it from a seed of a big seed company, the ones that made crops unable to reproduce so you have to always by seeds - in that case don't eat, either! No technology, no clothes, no shelter except what we build out of the corpses of those who starved themselves first . . .

Fix the system by dying out of spite. Good idea folks.

Glad you agree.

Costco, America's largest wholesaler, said Wednesday it plans to raise its annual membership fees by 10 percent -- a move that will affect some 22 million members.

Unless we stop patronizing the businesses we are trying to convince to become more socially aware nothing will improve. It's a lost cause if nothing changes and nothing ever changes unless their is significant financial impact.

It is the only way.

This is true. Nothing ever changes until the rich start feeling the pain. If they are not loosing money, they will not budge.

I think we should go a step higher. Anyone in the 99% owing a "debt" to Bank of America should be given a date to consider that debt null and void. The People Have Spoken because the government can't. All other banks on the list of Bail Out will be added one by one. Everyone in the 99% demand that no money be paid to a Health Insurance Co. until a fair price for healthcare is agreed upon by the People. We need to get money back in the hands of the People. NOW Further, everyone in the 99% will go to their employer and fill out a new W4 claiming exempt of all taxes until this mess is cleaned up. No IRS payments will be paid by the 99% in April unless the People are satisfied. Send Bush and Cheney and the 1% who bought them the bill for the Wars. An immediate Freeze on all of the wages for Congress including health care benefits. We the people cannot afford the waste any longer and must make these CUTS!

I like the way you think cindy. We need to make demands that they will really, really, really not like.

Here are mine, there is some overlap, and I would welcome your suggestions.

We didn't bail them out, we bought them. We have to define the terms here.

Furthermore, if life is going to be about money. The 99% will agree not to drive our cars during the month of __ . Lower gas prices. All of the People owning cell phones will ban together and refuse contracts. Refuse high price usage fees. This country may be in for a big surprise if it doesn't get it's priorities right and get out of the business of legal thievery. More to come.
