I still support the movement.
What a JOKE! As if this was the very first service person to turn against the institution that put him unjustly and unlawfully in harm's way, just to feed the very machine occupiers seek to overthrow for economic justice. ANYBODY fighting for economic justice with only a drop of informed understanding, knows that the MIC takes more from The People than any other institution in the US!
By the way, that's a Veterans for Peace T-shirt he's wearing, one of the very best peace organizations out there! After all, who better to criticize the war machine than those who have actually served within it?

So what ? I don't understand why you are trying to demoniz this kid. A 24 year old kid that went to Iraq twice and got his head cracked by police... There are allot of people air force, army,marines navy people that hate the military and wish they had never joined ... Alot of people find out it is not what they thought it was going to be and suprise there is drug use in the military

Are you kidding? Your "movement" is seen by most, whether for or against, as a liberal socialist movement. The media thrives on those type of sheeple they want more than ever for this "movement' to gain steam and possibly even be effective at moving our country in a socialist direction. The Media loves leftist types. People with "causes", more worried about what everyone else is doing than their own lives. The sheeple who watch the 6:00 NEWS to be told how to check their children's Halloween candy to make sure it is safe.
Regardless of his problems, he is still a veteran, and should be admired for the courage he showed for serving in a war zone. Even if he had not been a veteran, his treatment by the OPD was outrageous. He did not deserve to be shot by the police for exercising his first amendment rights. Typical for the haters to conduct OPPO research, so they can slander a man who was half-killed by the police, so as to blame him.

And your issue is what? I am a 52 year old woman who was a marketing director for many corporations in Manhattan for well over a decade. I have a degree. I have had two businesses. I am highly disenchanted with the armed services in general and have smoked pot before. Get back to us when you have snooped through the information on the thieves that took bailout money from our taxes paid. If you want to be an internet bloodhound, point your nose in the right direction.
I believe that Bush junior, Cheney and Limbaugh have had substance abuse problems.
Just to clarify my post. This was meant as a heads up to the Movement, not an offense or an insult. I have nothing against the movement or the military and support both. I apologize to those I have offended by my choice of words and wish the Occupy Movement the best of luck in all future endeavors.

so what.? hes right. the marine corps is an evil institution which beats up and demoralizes and zombotifies its victims. Like so many other american institutions its stuck in 1800, using the same soldering training and techniques which psychology proved evil and stupid by 1850.
most of these so called soldiers and marines would be easy prey to anybody with advanced martial training- i keep seeing in fact pigs wielding batons like an 11 year would and thinking just how easy it would be for me to disarm the pigs.
Your so called military is a double war and everyone wants to stay blind to it. its not just about the USA protecting itself from the outside- its about the USA beating down and beating out and carrying a caste war against the very soldiers who sign on to defend it.
The marine corps is an evil pig headed organization, if it got its head out of its ass it woud produce soldiers whow would be ten times more competent and one tenth as much stressed out.
We figured out a long time ago that people under extreme duress make poor decisions and have slowed reflex speeds. But they still keep beating these boys down and mindfucking their heads- instead of being a bridge to competence they are a bridge to mental break downs and frank mental illness.

As a vet , when told that chemical agents would be used if he didn't leave. I would think that he would know that if hit by ones of these he would get injured. But yet he still choose to stay. His, and everyone else's action has consequences.
