Great link, that about says it all.

[-] 2 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

Truth out rules.

[-] 3 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

PEOPLE - Let em go off the cliff. But demand that recovery be centered on the people and let the corpoRAT criminals eat what they sowed - poverty.

This country will recover from the ground on up - not ( NOT ) the other way around.

Let the too Big to Fail do exactly that - FAIL. Then carry out what was set up in the 1st place. Insurance for the public - get them repaid and moved to financially responsible local Banks and credit unions.

Break up the too big to fail - and reinstate sane regulations to prevent them from going toxic again.

CorpoRATions are not ( NOT ) People. Support Move to Amend and all such campaigns to remove personhood from corpoRATions.

BTW - If You Have Not Already Realized The TRUTH - Then Here It Is For You to Consider - TRICKLE DOWN ECONOMICS DOES NOT WORK FOR THE PEOPLE!!! It Does Not Work For The Country Either!!!

[-] 4 points by GypsyKing (8708) 11 years ago

That's exactly right! We need to demand that the Republicans don't get their way yet again with chicanery! After the Democratc victory in the last election, in spite of gerrymandering, election tampering and a billion dollars spent by the Republicans, I think you say we Have A Mandate!

No compromise with the criminal elements!

[-] 4 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

We need to get in the governments face - on a continuous and continually growing basis. We can not leave them unsupervised by Us The People.

[-] 3 points by GypsyKing (8708) 11 years ago

Man, I like the way you think!

[-] 3 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Shhhh - you will get a bad rep saying stuff like that. {:-])

Oh - wait - that would be with the shills - and they don't count.

Pray please continue. {;-])

[-] 3 points by GypsyKing (8708) 11 years ago

LOL!

[-] 1 points by BetsyRoss (-744) 11 years ago

You GO!!! Right to Washington DC and get in their collective faces!!! Supervise them day and night!!!

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Well well well - you have that much love support and confidence in me? Who woulda thought/guessed. You collecting funds for the trip?

[-] -1 points by BetsyRoss (-744) 11 years ago

You keep reminding me that I'm one of the poor and down trodden among the 99%-so of course I have no funds for you, nor do I even know anyone in the 20%, much less the 10% or 1%! Sorry.

But surely you aren't saying that a free and honest government requires MONEY anyway. Money is evil! And GypsyKing said it's all "doable tomorrow" anyway. Since it's the "will of the people" just ask the freedom loving 99% people to house and transport you and feed you. Silly!

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

But it is you who has expressed love and faith in me. I never said that I would be a good choice to send to DC. Perhaps you as one of the downtrodden need to convince "ME" as well as others. Don'cha think?

[-] -1 points by BetsyRoss (-744) 11 years ago

Well you said "we need" to get in their faces continuously and since you were talking to GK I figured what you said "we" that you meant you and him. You didn't say anything about being a good choice to send to DC or a need to convince anyone else. So naturally my comment shouldn't be attributed to considering any of that stuff.

I actually don't know you well enough to love or have faith in you, so I was really expressing love and faith in the idea more than anything.

:)

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

What do you not understand about "we" being the "PEOPLE" ? Are you always so slow? Do you require special ed? I would not want to leave you behind and confused - do you have someone to help you? I can adjust my comments to be more descriptive for you - but you really should have someone with you to help you understand things you encounter on the internet as well as in other real life formats.

[-] -1 points by BetsyRoss (-744) 11 years ago

I missed the vote where WE the PEOPLE reached a consensus that WE the PEOPLE "need to get in the government's faces continually". I've seen no notes outlining the criteria of who would make a "good choice" to send to DC, or a sign up sheet outlining who is going to take the first shifts.

So, I'm starting to suspect that it's YOUR idea to do such a thing and you're assuming that WE the PEOPLE have already agreed with you.

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

You read the comment - and you failed to note the reference to the people - don't try to be evasive on your oversight.

[-] -3 points by richardkentgates (3269) 11 years ago

May DK's support is set to private like his twitter account.

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Ha haa he he hee - good one. Perhaps you want to change is - to - be?

[-] -3 points by richardkentgates (3269) 11 years ago

maybe DK can't hide his discriminatory undertones. You fool nobody.

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

I am not trying to fool anyone - I hate shills/trolls/corporatists/RINO's/DINO's/dividers/misinformers etc etc etc that has never been a secret. Damn you really do have comprehension difficulties.

[-] -3 points by richardkentgates (3269) 11 years ago

Don't mistake my lack of ability to maintain a confrontational position as some sort of change in direction. You are still a fraud, and I will still make it known every time you leave an opening. Egg shells, you racist fuck.

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

So sorry you can't keep up RKG - maybe you and Bitsey could share a help resource? She seems to be as confused about the world as you.

[-] 1 points by nobnot (529) from Kapaa, HI 11 years ago

True, but if you keep repeating a lie the fox people will belive it.They are the true Americans. So they think.

[-] 3 points by GypsyKing (8708) 11 years ago

I think that is (finally!) starting to change. There IS an awakening going on now! We are part of it!

[-] -1 points by nobnot (529) from Kapaa, HI 11 years ago

lets not fool ourselves.Did you see the crowds at Wal-mart on Friday? The majority of people could care less about anything but their own fat asses.A lazy selfish stupid people.

[-] 2 points by GypsyKing (8708) 11 years ago

Kapaa HI, isn't that a rich enclave on Kauaii? And so you charactorize Americans as selfish, stupid people, even though what you saw was on TV, the dreamland of the idiot? Or did you go to Walmart even though there was a strike?

I'm just curious.

[-] 1 points by nobnot (529) from Kapaa, HI 11 years ago

You can see the world on what is called the internet. And yesThe majority of this countrys people are lazy and stupid. How else do you explain Bush,Obama,Iraq.etc.Also do you belive that you are represented in DC? Continue to think that you are special because you were born in the USA.Now go to Mcdonalds and watch your people stuff themselves with crap.Garbage in garbage out.

[-] 1 points by GypsyKing (8708) 11 years ago

Well, a certain percentge are garbage anyway.

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Things were pretty slow as shown on TV here in Mn for this state anyhow. Which makes me wonder about other reports.

[-] -1 points by Coyote88 (-24) 11 years ago

I agree the cliff is non existent. But you are wrong about Keynes.

[-] 2 points by GypsyKing (8708) 11 years ago

Naw, lets just let our infrastructure fall apart, global warming go unchecked, agrabusiness poison the land, and rich guys get away with keeping the trillions they made forcing working Americans out of their homes.

But for god's sake let's not let gubment create any high paying jobs - to fix any of this, or stimulate the economy. That's so-cial-ism!

Gotcha.

[-] 0 points by Coyote88 (-24) 11 years ago

Gubment creates high paying jobs? Really?

[-] 2 points by GypsyKing (8708) 11 years ago

At the drop of a hat.

[-] -1 points by richardkentgates (3269) 11 years ago

Flick of the pen? (2cents)

[-] 2 points by GypsyKing (8708) 11 years ago

Yes, to be more precise, at the flick of a pen.

[-] -2 points by Coyote88 (-24) 11 years ago

How?

[-] 2 points by GypsyKing (8708) 11 years ago

I can't be bothered by that kind of question. It bespeaks an incredible igrorance. I'm sorry.

[-] -1 points by Coyote88 (-24) 11 years ago

That because you know it isn't true. Whatever..

[-] -2 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

What about upcoming debt deal this winter and auto cuts from last debt deal?

[-] -1 points by Coyote88 (-24) 11 years ago

None of that matters. They will continue deficet spending no matter what taxes are raised.

[-] -2 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

I agree. This train is speeding so fast in teh wrong direction that putting the brakes on it would lead to a crash. Do nothing and it crashes too.

Neat eh?

[-] 2 points by GypsyKing (8708) 11 years ago

We might finally yield to reason and spend some of this debt on programs that actually rebuild this falling apart nation, and benefit the public, while at the same time employing people at high wages that in turn employ others and get the economy hopping. That will grow the tax base, and we will then have the resources to pay down the debt.

That's Keyensianism, and it WORKS. The problem is that it isn't punative enough for neo-cons - they like to see people suffer, it makes them feel all warm inside - and it also shifts the balance of power to the middle and working classes.

They would rather we all died then see that happen.

[-] -2 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

The cost of all the bailouts and Fed injections are the same amount it would cost to solar panel every single house in the US. But we all know that DC is bought out. Which is why I am hesitant to put them in charge of anything that requires them dividing up large sums of money.

[-] 1 points by GypsyKing (8708) 11 years ago

Sooner them then the corporations, who are presently in charge of dividing up large sums of money (who in fact now own this nation) in my opinion. The government at least has to do it's work in the open, and has to be at least nominally responsive to the people. Corporations have no public obligation whatsoever.

[-] -1 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

From the way its going, Id say the government could give a hoot too.

[-] 1 points by GypsyKing (8708) 11 years ago

We need to fix that, and it is within our power to fix it, as long as we don't give in to apathy, the greatest ally of the 1%.

[-] -1 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

Bingo.

[-] -1 points by BetsyRoss (-744) 11 years ago

YAY! Let's all embrace the largest tax increases in history!!! (Here's a pdf from the Joint Committee on Taxation for you to look at. https://www.jct.gov/publications.html?func=startdown&id=3646

Here's just a FEW of the delights the average American can look forward to.

Capital gains on everyone is currently 15%. On 1-1-13, the capital gains tax increases on the wealthy to 43.4%. YAY!! BUT it also increases on everyone else to 23.8%. YAY!!!

The Bush marginal tax cuts expire. The rich's tax will go from 35% to 39. 6%. YAY!! BUT everyone else's taxes will ALSO rise YAY!!!:

-The 10% bracket rises to a new and expanded 15%

-The 25% bracket rises to 28%

-The 28% bracket rises to 31%

-The 33% bracket rises to 36%

Evil married couples currently enjoy doubled tax deductions, but those are going away on 1-1-13 and all married couples (rich and poor) will pay the same as single people and vice versa! YAY!!

The child tax credit will go from $1000, to $500. (Poor people with children are losing HALF of their current benefit ) YAY!

Currently, those facing high medical expenses are allowed a deduction for medical expenses to the extent that those expenses exceed 7.5 percent of adjusted gross income (AGI). The new provision imposes a threshold of 10 percent of AGI. Waived for 65+ taxpayers in 2013-2016 only. YAY for sick/disabled people whose medical expenses are killing them already!

If you have a flexible spending account (where your pre tax dollars are put in a fund that helps you pay for legitimate health expenses) currently you can put as much in as you want/need per year. On 1-1-13, there will be a cap of $2500 per year. If you have a special needs child, or an illness that requires high medical expenses, or even a couple of kids who need braces-TOO BAD!! Pay taxes on all that special needs tuition and equipment and therapy FIRST! YAY!!!

Starting in 2014-IF an employer has at least 50 or more employees; AND the employer doesn't offer health care coverage AND the employee makes so little that they qualify for a "health tax credit" THEN the employer must pay a $2000.00 penalty for each full time employee.

Kiss full time employment GOOD bye for every worker whose employers can't afford to pay the fine and/or isn't required to offer them health care and/or wage increases! YAY!!!! (Small businesses with less than 50 employees won't have to pay the penalty OR purchase insurance for their employees)

So NO DEAL!!! Let it happen! There's no reason for concern! NOPE!

"Tax the corporations and the ultra wealthy into oblivion"....and then we can all work part time for companies with less than 50 employees and get no benefits or be unemployed and without benefits because there won't be anyone left except the common man to obtain tax revenue from !!!! YAY!!!

[-] 1 points by GypsyKing (8708) 11 years ago

whatever

[-] -1 points by Coyote88 (-24) 11 years ago

You are wasting your time. Leftists don't care about reality. If it doesn't fit in their narrow world view then it doesn't exist. Their motto should be "whatever"!

[-] -1 points by BetsyRoss (-744) 11 years ago

Well of course they care about reality, and they say that in reality that there is no fiscal cliff and the economy is recovering and things are looking up! I read it in the papers and Paul Krugman said so...so there!

Since the things I posted about are true and common knowledge to anyone who is current on government legislation etc, AND they are about to happen in "reality" and legislatively informed people like GypsyKing and VQkag2 aren't worried about them at all-then I shouldn't be!

After all-they speak for US-the 99% and they KNOW exactly what is going on and what is in our best interests!

[-] 0 points by Coyote88 (-24) 11 years ago

One more time: left wing/totalitarian propaganda is what being promoted by them.

[-] 2 points by GypsyKing (8708) 11 years ago

Please go back and play with your erector set, or your dominos, or whatever, and leave this to the adults. Okay?

[-] -1 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

I dont see them reaching a deal, I see them just extending it all as usual.

Although those cuts in the defense budget are going to get a lot of headlines, and neither party wants to be the one to pull back the military.

[-] 2 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

Everything will be fine. Let's not have a deal. Let's wait 'till Jan 1st. "the fiscal cliff" is more conservative fear mongering.

Conservatives just want a deal before Jan 1st because they will be in a much weaker position after Dec 31st. Look how reasonable their trying to be now.

Screw 'em. hit the gas. Over the edge! that'll learn 'em!

[-] 2 points by GypsyKing (8708) 11 years ago

Very good point here about how the R's are in a stronger position if they can force action before the end of January.

If Obama goes for this with the Seanate, and the last election behind him, it might possibly just spell the end of the Democrats.

[-] 2 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

I think Obama can easily go for a deal before the 1st. He may think it is as good a deal as he would get after the 1st but it better be a great deal.

No entitlement cuts and real tax increases on the wealthy would be the measure for me.

[-] 2 points by GypsyKing (8708) 11 years ago

Agreed, if he does go for it he better leave holding all the cards. I don't care what anybody says, under the circumstances the last election WAS a mandate.

[-] 2 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

I know. The RW has some nerve, for them it's like "ok you won, now here are our demands"

It's comical. We need to beat them down, make sure they know who is in charge. And above all else not give in to RW pressure to take from the 99% in any way.

[-] 2 points by GypsyKing (8708) 11 years ago

Yes, and as DKA has said, we need to keep up the pressure. We need a huge turnout in the midterms, and we need to make sure the progressive candidates are there to put in power. We need to run more progressive Independents, like Bernie Sanders. We need to turn this thing around, and not leave a single Republican standing.

The are the party of venal aggression.

[-] 2 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

All true, We also must put massive pressure on all pols for progressive change that benefits the 99%.

Perhaps we should identify house members (repubs) who might be swayed by a letter writing/petition drive on particular issues/votes that come up before the midterms.

We only need 17 repub votes in the house for a majority.
