end bush tax cuts , rebuild America bridges and roads , invest in middle class not banking class thats the occupy wall street message.

Do we really want not to be able to give money to our favorite candidates? Do we really want the government determining who is worthy of financing? This amendment says that "no person" can give to a candidate. Isn't this a bridge too far? We want to take the corporations out of the game, but do we want to take the citizens out too?

No, that's not what I'm responding to. The amendment says "no person," I assume that means no human being can give money, which means all campaigns would have to be publicly financed. It stops all money other than public money.

Citizens United says that corporations are the same as or "equivalent" to a human being..

It stipulates that a corporation can give any amount to a politician...

I am talking about the proposed amendment to the constitution that is hyperlinked above. We are in agreement--Citizens United sucks.
