This content is user submitted and not an official statement

Print a hundred of these today (including these instructions at the top). Replace my name with your real name, but do not change anything else. Knock on a door, give one to the person who answers, and have them look at it while you read. Ask if there is anyone else home who might be interested. Thank them kindly, issue a receipt, and go to the next door.

Hi, I'm Kavatz and I am a worker-owner of a new business called Equishift. This is my job, knocking on doors and introducing new people to our mission.

The business is like network marketing in many ways. The money I earn, I keep 95% and pass 5% upstream. Every member has the same formula. Everyone directly below you (but not below them) gives you 5%. You take everything you earn and the 5% from each of your recruits, and move 5% of the total upward.

There is no one person at the top. All the money moved to the top is in an account to pay our operating costs, our bonuses and to finance projects.

Our current mission is to improve the local economy and the financial intelligence of our members, and we have two offers for you at this time:

Offering #1

We link you to a growing "must know" library (video/audio/interactive), currently built into a forum of political, economic and social truth. The news you see on TV today, it's designed to keep the population ignorant. The same people who own mainstream media, natural resources and banks, also own government and make the rules. They are the elite - the 1%. They have become experts at keeping the truth from us, and we want to bring you to it.

The skim just the top-rated content on a regular basis, or engage yourself by evaluating and discussing, helping to ensure the best (most relevant/motivating/critical), rises to the top, and that the trash is discarded.

You keep this copy of our current script, so you can visit the forum at your leisure (we recommend as soon as possible).

For this service, we ask that you pay whatever you think the service of coming to your door with this message is worth.

Any money I collect from you today is my wage, and allows me to continue. I use it to support my family, pay debts, and spend locally. As an Equishift worker-owner, I am under oath to spend locally whenever possible, even if it means paying a much higher price. As we grow in numbers, the local economic benefits will be yours too.

Offering #2

Join us by becoming an Equishift worker-owner. It typically costs a few hundred dollars to get into network marketing these days. To be an owner of Equishift, you pay $30 a year. That's it!

We take advantage of the most powerful tool used in capitalism: the corporation. As an owner, your car is now a business expense, and lunches are now business meetings. A part of your house becomes office space.

Our members strive to become more financially intelligent. Our knowledge and strategy is shared. It is at your fingertips, along with the mentoring and assistance you need to get the most out of your money.

We seek and promote real news and the education (about money, power, issues and solutions), you will never get at school.

We are bound to rules. Membership can be revoked when RULES are broken.

We also take advantage of an organizational structure becoming very popular these days among the 99%. We are a Worker Self-Directed Enterprise (WSDE). We democratically make business decisions. We do not have fancy executives earning more than their fair share. For the first time in history, WSDE meets network marketing.

Would you like to know more?

Visit http://occupywallst.org/forum/equishift-recommended-resources/. Participate in the many interesting discussions, start your own threads, and shift your perspective. Rest assured, you, everyone you know, including all members of the police and armed forces are among the 99%. We are slaves (learn the facts, argue if you can disagree), and the middle class is history. It's time we realize this and act like it. Be ignorant no more.

This is not the final version of the script. All members must use the current script and MUST NOT modify it other than as specified in the instructions at the top.

Our most potent political weapon is food. If we take back our agriculture, if we buy and raise produce locally, we can begin to break the grip of corporations that control a food system as fragile, unsafe, and destined for collapse as our financial system. If we continue to allow corporations to determine what we eat, as well as how food is harvested and distributed, then we will become captive to rising prices and shortages and increasingly dependent on cheap, mass-produced food filled with sugar and fat.

Food is the greatest place for communities to start taking back power. The national food system is collapsing by degrees. A lot of what we eat comes from the Central Valley of California. What happens when gasoline becomes $5 a gallon or drought sweeps across the cropland? The monolithic system of food production is highly unstable. It has to be replaced very soon with small, diverse sources that provide greater food security.

The above two paragraphs are quoted from the book, ''The World As It Is'' by Chris Hedges is brought to you here thanx to long time forum-friend 'TrevorMnemonic' (where are you buddy ? & good luck with all your doings, ohmmm ~*~ ).

Now this Equishift Corp. thing as in this post is either flat out crazy or is touched by a particular genius, time will tell. Food Cooperatives and different ways to localize food production could be a big deal here, so please also consider :

Food production and the ethos of 'Co-ops' are an excellent combination. Ergo, please also consider :

Why Worker Cooperatives ?

This isn’t some obscure utopian fantasy from the 1970’s. Worker cooperatives exist all over the world in all industries large and small, from home health care in the Bronx to manufacturing in Spain.

By workers having a direct role in decision-making and a share of all profits, worker cooperatives build community wealth and help make a democratic economy real.

Their ownership structure provides built-in accountability to workers and, by extension, greater concern for community and the environment. And if that wasn’t enough, worker cooperatives also :

  • share profits equitably

  • circulate more money within a community for longer periods of time

  • retain jobs better during recessions

  • provide greater employment stability

  • pay higher salaries via profit share and living wages

  • invest in the growth and development of their members

  • don’t pick up and leave town

  • pool individual resources, making entrepreneurship more accessible for people with low incomes

  • empower workers to take control of their lives and

  • make democracy a regular practice !!!

Even the United Nations has endorsed cooperatives as a tool for poverty alleviation, job creation, and social integration, declaring that 2012 was ''The International Year of Cooperatives''.

Thanks again for the invaluable goodies, shadz!

That is what it's all about: enabling individuals to maximize local, small-scale economic development and diversification.
