Time to remember.

After the terrorist attacks of 9/11 in 2001, that was the reaction of the Iranian government:

Iranian President Mohammad Khatami "expressed deep regret and sympathy with the victims" and said it was "an international duty to try to undermine terrorism".

source: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/1540029.stm

Never forget that!

Iran codemned the attacks, expressed solidarity with the families of the victims, and said that it was "an international duty to try to undermine terrorism".

Iran is not an enemy of the American people!

Iran never supported Al-Qaeda, in fact, Iran is a victim of Al Qaeda. The terrorist group Jundullah, linked to Al-Qaeda did many attacks against Iranian civilians.

Sadly, the CIA is said to support Jundullah, a group linked to Al-Qaeda. The CIA joined Al-Qaeda to attack Iran!

See more info about it here:

Iran is a peaceful nation that didn't get involved in any war against its neighbors in the past 20 years.

Now, Israel is threatening to attack Iran. The American people should stand in defense of Iran and the Iranian people, against this brutal agression!

Don't let Israel destroy the beautiful city of Tehran and its wonderful people:

I don't support Israeli aggression, but I'm not oblivious to Iranian aggression either.

Iran has close ties to the terrorist group Hezbollah and to the brutal Assad regime in Syria.

Its pursuit of nuclear weapons is a destabilizing force in the Middle East.

I stand against illegal aggression everywhere -- American, Israeli, Arab, or Iranian.

Hezbollah is a terrorist group? Why? Because they defended the territory of Lebanon against the Israeli invasion?

[-] 2 points by REALamerican (241) 12 years ago

because they terrorize and murder? lol

I respectfully disagree, all regimes in the middle east were quick to make statements after 9/11 because they knew America would be looking for someone to blame.

They did it out of self interest, not compassion.

What about the Iranian plot to assassinate the Saudi ambassador to the US?

Israel's leaders haven't called for the complete destruction of Iran as Iran has to Israel.

Finally the leaders of Iran continually attack Israel in the media many times denying the holocaust while addressing the UN Ahmadinejad again denied that the holocaust occurred.

The "plot" is TOTALLY fake. Iranian government is demanding official apologies from the US government for this bizarre accusation.

Saudi Crown Prince has said someone in Irans government will have to be held accountable. Saudi Arabia is our ally but they don't lie for America.

Israel is acting like a baby, picking on countries cause USA will come to the rescue. They just did this cause palestine got accepted to UNESCO. Isn't their behavior getting obvious?

what indeed was/is our business to be 100% behind Israel 100 % of times? Israel has cost us a lot--wars (how many by now?), lives, and a whole economy going down the drain from deep indebtedness. it is NOT us Americans that murdered the Jewish people (we murdered a different people and spent pennies to rectify it). so for practical reasons and for the reasons of morality, Israel is not our business.

Keep an eye on the bigger picture and remember there is such a thing as economic aggression. Economic aggression has often led to war. China wants a nuclear Iran for the purpose of destabilization and dominance. China is not a friend of the US. "Make friends with the enemy of your enemy." Machiavelli

American people for peace, justice and friendship with the Iranian people!

That is wishful thinking. I believe American officials are still butt hurt over what happened thirty years ago.

Sorry I'm not convinced that there was any plot by the Iranian government to assainate this guy. Also the largest population of Jews in the middle east aside from Israel is in Iran. If Iran really wanted to wipe out the jews they would have started with the 25,000 to 35,000 that live there already. Also Iran hasn't been in a war since Saddam Huessien (our boy at the time) attacked them in 1980. How many wars has Israel been involved in since 1967? 9 or 10? Including that savage killing spree they went on shortly after Obama was elected they call the Gaza war. I have no support for the Israeli apartheid regime and if they attack Iran then they( the Government of Israel) should be brought up for war crimes.

Iran may not be our enemies, but Israel IS our friends. Iran and israel have been fighting for FOREVER, and we need to choose a side, preferably the side of our ALLIES. or we could just stay out of it, since it isnt our business. israel can handle themselves against little iran. lol

The israeli conflict is entirely off topic, I've banned enough people on both sides of the matter already and these debates always end up with stupid flame wars.

Mr. Moderator, with respect, I beg to differ :

1 - These rumblings of an Israeli attack against Iran are VERY credible and serious. As we speak, Netanyahu, Barak and Liebermann are trying to convince the rest of the cabinet to vote in favor.

2 - I just received copy of a STRATFOR Global Intelligence Report clearly indicating that THE U.S. IS CONSIDERING BOMBING IRAN (see below).

3 - Such an attack would amount to a DECLARATION OF WAR and would obviously have grave repercussions on the U.S. economy, as we already know from Iraq and Afghanistan. If Obama AGAIN goes to war, we will ALL pay dearly.

4 - As for "stupid flame wars", simply censor them or BAN the antisemites or TROLLS that are INFESTING this Forum. But whatever you do, do NOT ban WHOLE, SERIOUS TOPICS, please! That would seriously compromise the credibility of this forum.

I am certainly not the only one on this forum who feels that no discussion of a war in which the U.S. would be involved COULD EVER BE "OFF TOPIC", but on the contrary must be seen as being "at the very heart of the matter".

"Iran: U.S. May Expedite Missile Attacks - British Defense Ministry November 2, 2011 According to the British Defense Ministry, the United States may expedite plans for targeted missile strikes at Iranian facilities, British officials said, the Guardian reported Nov. 2. The officials said British military would help the United States if they seek help. British military planners are investigating where to deploy Royal Navy ships and submarines in the coming months. The officials said Iran is becoming a focus of diplomatic concern, but that U.S. President Barack Obama does not wish to enter another military venture before the next U.S. elections. They added that heightened anxiety based on western agencies’ intelligence could change that plan."

If money were not in politics, would U.S. foreign policy behave the way it does? I agree with you, this issue is one of the very core fundamental issues of Wall Street and its connection to global U.S. policy.
