Transforming society isn't easy, and dispite OUR non-violence it won't be bloodless either. But our survival is at stake. The more the authorities use heavy-handed tactics against the non-violent, the more people will see the truth and rally to our cause.

Protest, political action, and every other means short of violence is what is called for to achieve our ends, and make the already substancial sacrifices we have made for the cause of justice worthwhile, through it's ultimate triumph. There are moments in the course of history that cry out for courage and sacrifice. This is one of those moments.

I find that hard to argue with. But I wish we could get some private money and buy up media time in the major metropolitan areas. If we were able to organize protests that hundreds of thousands would turn out for perhaps then we could make a difference.

However, the double standard that we apply when it comes to domestic as opposed to foreign policy has to be factored. With semi senile idiots like McCain are calling for the bombing of Government forces in Syria, who would or could come to the aid of American protestors?

I still favor an inside out approach, get our own person in Congress and force their hand. Welcome to America, Land of the delusion that we are free.

Anybody on this forum have celebrity connections? We need some Bono money!

I hear Ben and Jerry's might just come to the rescue in that regard, and I agree that that money should be mostly put into outreach in all it's forms, including media. But we can't hope to compete on that basis alone. I also agree about working inside the system. I have always said we must do EVERYTHING short of violence. The world is in crisis. The time for sleeping, for inactivity is over. To me, "everything" includes the in their face excercize of our of our Constitutional right to assemble, to protest, and to firmly establish public space as public.

They don't want us to realize that this government is supposed to be run by the consent of the governed. We could stop them from doing much of what they do by simply pointing out that if we do not have the right to do something, we cannot possibly allow others (government) to do it on our behalf. This would force a situation where US representatives would either have to admit that they are acting outside of the limitations we created when we created it and appointed them to run it, OR stop practicing the exercise of powers we couldn't possibly have given them.

I wonder if it would be possible to bring a lawsuit against our own Government for not representing the views of their constituents? I think the best thing we can do right now is get our own Man or Woman in Congress and have him/her start outing the slimy pieces of human waste.

I don't know yet. I'm busy learning how to defend myself against an attack they are engaged in currently against me. If I can figure that out, it'll be a lead on how to take them on in their own domain and I'll certainly share it here and other places.

But it is so much fun seeing your face being dragged down the street by your ankles.
