Why didn't anyone shoot back at Homes?

Manson used only a knife. Don't buy the MSNBC spin. Overzealous gun control is why an irresponsible population can no longer defend itself against the crazies. Be a fucking adult, protect yourself and family.

Read the Rules

Holmes probably could have made his own explosives to detonate in the theater as easily. Guns were a convenient method. Another armed person in the theater might have only contributed to the mayhem, since Holmes wore full body armor.

Gun control is like fixing a flat, when the engine blows.

Our society if you haven't noticed is turning into a society of "wimps" -

A law enforcement source, who is close to the investigation but not authorized to speak publicly, said something went awry in the killer's planned assault at the theater. Police said the alleged gunman had three weapons: a Remington shotgun, a Smith & Wesson M&P assault rifle and a Glock .40-caliber handgun.

The semiautomatic assault rifle, which is akin to an AR-15 and is a civilian version of the military's M-16, could fire 50 to 60 rounds per minute and is designed to hold large ammunition magazines. The source said that Holmes allegedly had obtained a 100-round drum magazine that attached to the weapon but that such large magazines are notorious for jamming.

The law enforcement official said authorities believe the gunman first used the shotgun -- some victims in the hospital have buckshot wounds -- and then began using the assault rifle, which jammed. Then he resorted to the handgun.

Oates, the police chief, interviewed on "Fox News Sunday," did not confirm or deny that the gun jammed but said police found the 100-round magazine lying on the theater floor. He said he did not know whether it was empty

So, why didn't someone jump on him and stop him? People have done this in other instances - gabby gifford is one example. .

All guns should be illegal unless the owner is willing to go to training 3 times a week to be a part of a "well regulated militia".

No private sales. Illegal gun sellers get life in prison.

That is constitutional. And will save lives.

Really? So how will I protect myself when someone pulls and illegally obtained firearm on me?

The war on drug, the war on poverty, the war on terrorism. There is no certainties in reality. The universe is not software or an app. Making a promise to keep all 7+ billion people doing the same things you allow is not only impossible, it's all the forms of government we use in contemporary political debate, socialism and fascism and communism oh my.

So no, the Dems are not correct. Not this time. Not only is what they ask wrong, but impossible to achieve. I am a liberal but I also live in the real world.

How about a county wide neighborhood watch type of program and include firearm and first aid traning as a requirement. Something where participants are active in their daily lives instead of just in their neighborhood. A scattering of these volunteers throughout society would be a far more effective deterrent to would-be crazies than any dependence on absolutes.

Please. I'm in NYC for 50 years never owned or needed a gun. Don't be afraid. No one is comin for you.

You need a gun to protect yourself. get a gun! just commit to being part of a "well regulated militia".

Whats the problem with that.?
