“It’d only take 1% of the population to take up their civic duty as a hobby to turn this ship around. It’s easier than you think,” Nader espouses. "We must organize, attend rallies, occupy local congressional offices with specific demands, occupy courtrooms" and demand our rights. It’s up to us to do it. Stop capitulating at every turn."

"We must hold this president accountable. We’ve put no pressure on this guy and he’s run slipshod over the Constitution and us and very few seem to notice or care. By voting for “the lesser evil,” (I voted for Jill Stein) the so-called liberals are not only accessories to his crimes but have rendered themselves officially irrelevant. And just because you voted for him doesn’t mean he’s got your best interest at heart. It doesn’t matter what he says. It’s what he does that counts."

The words are copied from the link. Thank you for posting & great site - http://www.nationofchange.org/

Good comment. Yep - We the People need to be involved and stay involved and pressure everyone in office - state and federal - to address our issues.

Environment / Global warming / pollution / poisoning / destruction

Citizens united / corpoRATions are not people / money out of politics

Clean energy and fuel technology implementation

And So Much MORE.

Education is the key solution to all that you mention above - http://www.nationofchange.org/we-are-not-powerless-confront-climate-change-1351776731 . 'There is a power that cannot be taken from us. That is the power to decide, especially as we move beyond this election, that the issue of climate change, and what we can do about it, will never be excluded from the national debate again.'Never Give Up! Go OWS!

Education and outreach - using social media/internet or whatever opportunity presents itself to communicate to others. Education is spreading and Occupy is a large part of that success.

You can't beat feet on the streets but I do agree with you. Europeans still get this (please see other link) and we used to too. We can again with OWS' inspiration and example. Seeds are sown as we speak.

Very good article - http://www.nationofchange.org/we-are-not-powerless-confront-climate-change-1351776731 - thanks for posting it.

So many people do not understand Global Warming and it's subsequent myriad effects.

Good to see the fact of added energy to the environment by the added heat being discussed.

Which will disrupt weather systems as well as strengthen/intensify them.

So we end up with not just massive storms in parts of the year that we never had them before.

But we also end up with record breaking heat "&" record breaking cold. Record breaking Droughts "&" record breaking precipitation ( floods ).

Global Warming is not an "either or" type of thing - it is an everything you can imagine "type of thing".

Excellent excerpts. .

Pressure on the Pres, & all pols is the only way to fforce progressive solutions.

AND it is OUR responsibility, duty, obligation.

We cannot expect pols to serve the 99% when they are taking so much money from the 1%. So the best hope of countering 1% money is 99% bodies in the street!
