Anyone know anything about this?

Seems to be led in part by Elliot Ackerman. Elliot served as a Marine Corps Infantry and Special Operations Officer with multiple tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. He’s a decorated veteran, having earned a Silver Star and Purple Heart for his role in leading a platoon in the November 2004 Battle of Fallujah, and a Bronze Star for Valor while leading a Marine Corp Special Operations Team in Afghanistan in 2008. He also led a 75-man platoon that aided in relief operations in post-Katrina New Orleans.

Elliot holds a Master’s Degree in International Relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and earned his undergraduate degree, with summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa honors, from Tufts University in 2003. He is the recipient of the Major General Edwin B. Wheeler Award for Infantry Excellence.

Any alternate way of picking a President would end with same broken system. Following White House website sponsored petition is a DIRECT DEMOCRACY VOTE on the competing versions of a Congressional bill, before they get watered down: http://wh.gov/bhC

PUBLIC VOTE on the COMPETING FINAL DEMOCRATIC vs FINAL REPUBLICAN vs INDEPENDENT VERSIONS of a CONGRESSIONAL BILL. For example, both the Republican and Democratic parties claim to have tax code and healthcare reform plans. It is time to show these plans to the public in writing. Here the media polls and media talk shows would have something real to talk about before submitting the competing versions to the final decision-making responsibility of We the People.

We the Signers demand a PUBLIC VOTE OPTION be incorporated as a new legislative continuing JOINT RESOLUTION. Binding on Congress itself to pass along the public majority winning version of a bill to the President. The legislative precedent being no legal difference between a joint resolution and a bill.

Petitions receiving 25,000 votes in 30 days, are referred to evaluation followed by OFFICIAL WHITE HOUSE STATEMENT. Website RULES are sponsored petitions CANNOT be SEARCHED until receiving 150 VOTES. http://occupywallst.org/forum/public-vote-option-on-competing-democratic-vs-repu/

It was started by a guy who worked for Fox news. I wouldn't trust anything they have to say.

I am betting their goal is to create a third party that will always siphon liberal voters away from the democratic candidate, in this way assuring the GOP victory, like when Clinton beat Bush, If Ross Perot had not run on the independent ticket I think there is a chance Clinton may not have won.

Yes, it seems like it might be a bit of a spoiler. I heard about the connection to a former Fox news analyst, but don't have the citation for that. I read somewhere that one of the funders is Peter Ackerman: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Ackerman

Yeah AE seems to be somewhat subversive...

To quote from the planetpov.com:: "Americans Elect feels like a Koch-Brothers-type Tea Partying of the Left and Indies. Exploit the anger and frustration of the constituency and drive them together under a populist tent…that’s in fact owned by the wealthy…and use it to splinter the power of the majority so that the power and party of the minority, the wealthy and corporations, can continue to dominate."

Thanks for the good link.

They do have a list of board members now. But I noticed that labor was completely unrepresented on Americans Elect's board of directors. Maybe they're just trying to take over the USA, as if Egypt and Libya weren't enough.
