Another Jefferson quote "believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs."

Thank you for quoting Thomas Jefferson for us, fellow patriot. We need to "team up" with the Tea Party and people from every side of the political spectrum. George Washington denounced political parties. They're controlled opposition. You'd be amazed at how little the current Republican and Democratic parties represent YOU. It's time to break this false division and realize it's not about left vs. right but Liberty vs. Tyranny.
It really is time to unite. Let's get our government back and then we can work through different ideas...As long as the left and right continue to fight each other Wall Street wins. I don't have to love the guy who is in the fox hole with me, but I better damn sure have his back.
Many of us on the right are anxious to join hands with our friends on the left on common issues. Nobody here thinks they are doing the wrong thing. Unite.
Te tea party people also hold TJ's ideas scared. Maybe, if we join together we can make OWS stronger.
If Tea Party folks actually read the Founding Fathers, they'd be struck ashen-faced, curly-haired, and trembling in horror.
It's a slightly different story than what Beck, et al. has spoon-fed them!
That's a good solution for us all: become good independent readers. The wisdom of the past speaks much clearer the necessities of our time than any fake news we get today.

Now we’ve all seen Hollywood Movies about the Government being, Above the Law’ and if you think that’s a fantasy consider this. Both parties are corrupt and politicians are nothing more than high-priced prostitutes, willing to sell their services to the highest bidder. The Justice Department is controlled by the party in power and during the Carter Presidency; the Abscam Investigation was blocked to prevent it from reaching The White House. My local newspaper ‘The Jersey Journal’ famous for under-reporting the news even had a large FrontPage picture of President Carter shaking hands with his close friend, Jersey City Mayor Thomas FX Smith. Under the banner headline, Smith named as Money Launderer on Abscam Tapes!’ But nobody arrests the man in power when he also appoints the Director of the FBI. Never mind the fact; he labeled the capture of one microchip bugged device, TOP SECRET! The owner of SpyRadio’ then made a $200,000 payoff to his re-election campaign. Remember that Human Rights thing? Every politician has an act and that was his.
We the people are routinely robbed and deceived every day by corporate criminals and corrupt government officials and there isn’t a damn thing we can do about it, except Expose Them! Graham Parker once put it this way: Imagine being like a Russian or Something, they don’t give the people the truth at all!

The question I have for all patriots from both the right and left is not how we should organize what we consider the best form of government, but rather how do we actually take back control our present government?
Thomas Jefferson recognized that ‘lethargy’ would herald the loss of our freedom, but there was simply no way for him to see that ‘consumer addiction’ would maintain that ‘lethargy’. While it is obvious that members of the global elite such as those represented on Wall Street are clearly willing to risk an entire global economic meltdown to satisfy their addiction to ‘monetary wealth’ it is equally obvious that it could not be done without the complicity of those addicted to consumerism.
There is plenty of blame to go around for all of us. Today is Black Friday. Did you resist the temptation to purchase? It is not only the act of consumerism that is the problem but also the method of purchase: credit and debit cards.
We can do the ‘blame game’ till hell freezes over, but that will not get our government back. If we take the words of Thomas Jefferson at a literal level we are talking about armed insurrection, a battle that the common man cannot win. However, insurrection is simply “organized opposition to authority”. Eventually a tactical insurrection using non-violent methods can win back our government. It requires a united front of both the left and right. We have plenty examples of this type of insurrection that actually worked, such as the The Indigo revolt in Bengal in 1859 or the more famous insurrection of India against the British.
We can get our government back, but we have to unite. Ignore the labels we use to categorize our self and others. Look for a united front in achieving objectives, such as moratoriums on purchase or purchase in cash only. Its a start.

You want to know what the Tea Party is about:
We are over 15 trillion in national debt and rising fast. Almost all of this debt comes from unconstitutional spending (according to Art 1 sect 8), whether it was wars, or medicare, or social security, or bailouts. The problem is we have been a pseudo-socialist country because will no longer live under our Framer's intentions. Since the 1930's, Congress has enjoyed continual growth of power with the loosening of the Necessary and Proper clause, combined with expansive readings of Commerce clause, Spending and General Welfare clause. Over the years, these "implied" precedents and case law decisions have resulted in: Federal Education, Social Security, Medicare, HHS, HUD, AFT, DEA, FDA, OSHA, EEOC, EPA, most recently, TARP, Stimulus Bill, government take-over of auto manufactures, soon-to-be national health care and the list goes on and on. A lot of this has been good (some not so much), but if you do not pay your bills and put us in debt, then all of this can not exist and will collapse our economy . Tea Party sees a republic as prescribed by our Founders, where the states are in charge of most social aspects with respect of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. So if one state gets too conservative or too liberal, you can move to another state.
The Tea Party understands the anger and welcomes it, but do not target banks or corporations, they are only pawns to the government. I ask:
WHY DID THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT (OBAMA) FORCE ALL BANKS TO TAKE THE BAILOUTS EVEN THOUGH MANY BANKS DIDN'T WANT TO?
