they can break up encampments all they want, we will just do something else. we need more actions with big, big turnouts. big numbers are very powerful. and would love more "mic checking" of campaigning politicians and others like this:
I'm a 18 year old kid from Finland and I've been sick for 6 days now and I dug into this revolutionary Occupy thing for almost a week now. I can't believe how mad this shit makes me. How can the police be reacting in a way like this, how can the agency police gets their orders from react like this. Just ridiculous.
I also wonder, how have the protests been going on for so many months with such cruelty and huge profile, while getting very little attention in matters of action in the american politics?
Forward on, what the fuck is up with the bill 1867? Who in the world comes in to thoughts with ideas like that. Expand the war against terrorism into your own country, and give detainment orders for "suspects" of terrorism? That guy Rand Paul is fucking brilliant. His speech on one of the videos was incredibly alerting. He brought up the laws about terrorism suspect recognition and that how anyone can be designated as an 'enemy combatant' ; food for over 7 days, guns or ammunition, missing a finger in your hand and suspectable "threat against the united states". Now the funny thing which adds up to this law and makes it sound like a proper conspiracy is the army part. Opening the secretly prepared FEMA camps miraculously at the same time around the law initiate makes this just outrageous.
Take everything thats happening in US at the moment, I'd like to be american just to be part of the protesting. I hope there's something wrong with how I understood these events, because this is just all fucked up and sounds like fucking Stalin's Soviet.
The funniest thing I find is that the senate passed the bill with over 90 votes out of 100. Just ridiculous, since the law would pretty much stomp everything a single individual has to protect himself.
Did I really understand this correctly; IF the law passes. You make a joke about you being an adopted immigrant or having a 'battered dildo' under your bed, you can have the army kick your door in, take you to a secret place somewhere, torture, keep you from daylight for as long as they seek, without evidence apart from a suspicion - without investigation - without you having a chance to defend yourself or bring out proof that they're wrong?
If I got this right, isn't this just literally taking away pretty much all your civil rights against the huge boogie called the government?
I've always been sceptic about all the conspiracy theories and people who make them, but this seriously seems big and doesn't make sense anyhow else.
R.Paul is not brilliant. Bear in mind that he and his father wants to give huge tax cuts for the superwealthy and give all the power to private power. That´s not brilliant, that´s reactionary and contributing to more problems. The world needs democracy not privatization.
You're spot on my friend! It saddens me how a young man from Finland understands more about what is going on than half of the shit-brained conservatives in their own country. Thanks for your support Mikedribbles!
But I still stand by Ron Paul and his ideas more than that fucker Obama, who can't seem to get anything productive accomplished. I mean he can freeze gaddahfi's assets all the way over in Africa but for some reason can't do the same for wallstreetbankerscorporations he presides over. I smell a traitor...
He is the commander in chief. I expect nothing less than a swift hand of justice from my president. If the Republicans keep blocking any sort of progress, then they need to be dealt with immediately. Even if that means going around the protective barrier of laws that congress has put in place to protect them from such actions being taken.

I totally agree. That is something I'm not happy with him on. He's tried to get the people of Congress to work together across the isle, and it hasn't worked at all.
It is obvious that the MAJORITY, I'm not saying all of them, but the majority of congress is corrupt and have their greedy little hands in a lot of affairs that are not in their people's (which they are supposed to represent) best interest.
A corporation is not a person. They cannot be taken down with a simple firearm, or arrested for the evil crimes they commit. So why should they have much leverage when it comes down to a simple thing like a vote? I'll tell you why, it's because they have more money than they know what to do with. These people who run the corporations enjoy playing games with other people's lives as if it were a game of checkers or chess. They play their little magick tricks and expect people to believe that this is the way society should be run. It's obviously working on the simpletons around this country, who still think OWS is a bunch of dirty hippies.
Gee, he's going to veto SB1867, not because it's a violation of Constitutional Rights, but, because the bill isn't craftily enough written to make any actions carried out under it's blanket, exempt to The Rules of The Geneva Convention, specifically torture.
Only a moron still spews bi-party rhetoric these days and has to really work hard to avoid seeing neither party has represented the people for likely longer than you've been alive.

Um.... how many other things has he tried to pass and put into law that Republicans have blocked? How many times have Republicans used the filibuster? How have they changed rules, so that they can put the favor in their court?
And I never said Democrats aren't guilty of things, did I? I simply stated the TRUTH about why things haven't moved forward much under Obama. You can check out voting records of Congress people online to find the truth. It's not that hard at all.
I don't think they are going to fight him on SB1867, I'm quite sure they'll give him the go ahead to make torture of detainees, of which you are on the list of potentials, quite legal as he has requested.
So, tell me, what has he tried to pass that anyone has "blocked"?
Don't you realize that, other than his very pronounced communistic tendencies, that he may as well be GW Bush Jr?
The system is FUBAR, the agenda is clearly in place and progressing, the bi-party antics are just a diversionary show to keep simpletons packing the areana to point fingers.
"In recent weeks, Senate Republicans have blocked votes on Obama's $447 billion jobs bill, objecting to Democratic plans to finance it with tax surcharges on millionaires."
Have you actually read those bills? Do you believe all the pundits' opinions of what they really mean?
The payroll tax is a huge trojan horse as are several other of these plans.
Bottom line, your boy likes to write executive orders, which are indeed unconstitutional. Do you ever ask why he doesn't just write in whatever he wants? He does and can.
The bi-party stuff is just about substantive enough to entertain new graduates from the Romper Room crowd.
Both sides suck, both sides have dirty hands, both sides protect each other, both sides are for sale.
Have you seen the presidential debates? RP seems genuinely concerned about the fate of this country...he's not just talking out of his ass like the rest of the candidates. Obama said he was going to make changes in this country. So far I have not seen a lot of change being made...What I do see is change being made in other parts of the world at the expense of the American taxpayers.
I don´t doubt that he´s sincerely concerned. His solutions however, are awful and horrible. He has some points when it comes to foreign policy (US and Western imperialism causing hatered by the ones affected) but his economic policies are cruel and awful.
Private Tyrannies, you mean your individual state? You know, close to home where you can be involved and check on things easily.
Huge tax cuts for the superwealthy? They pay virtually nothing anyhow. Note he says he will eliminate federal income tax and allow the individual states (those insidious private tyrannies you obviously seem to think are better CONTROLLED by a corrupt and out of control unconstitutional federal government) to decide how or if to tax.
You really don't understand either of this nation's Constitutions, do you?
Do you even know that both the first and second Constitutions were both bankruptcy pacts?
Let me get this straight: you support Rand/RonPaul policies, but you don´t know that these include giving huge tax cuts to to the 1%...? They´re both self proclaimed "libertarians"....how could you have missed this obvious fact..? They even oppose the civil rights act..
Rand and Ron do not have the same political ideals. Not at all although I am certain there are many people, like yourself, that choose to believe they are one and the same. Nope.
Democracy has always failed and always will for very obvious reasons. We disagree and furthermore, democracy, direct or otherwise, will never happen. I suppose, your answer to my question is NO. That's what I figured, all you kids so against the Constitution, yet have no idea what it's about. I damned sure know they don't teach you about it in school.

There's nothing wrong with your view. These things are happening here. It is very much fucked up. Things are getting out of control here and must be changed.... hence the protests. Rand Paul is one of the biggest idiots around who needs to get out of the government. He certainly has his head up his ass.
All I can say is, if things continue (police state actions and such) and get worse, there WILL be a HUGE uprising here, and people WILL NOT stay non-violent.
"if things continue (police state actions and such) and get worse, there WILL be a HUGE uprising here, and people WILL NOT stay non-violent."
Personally I think it´s important to stay non-violent, at least now in the beginning of this uprising. I´ve written about this in my article The Transition Phase: The Road to Freedom When we get big enough we can take more direct action, including more self defense.
"Look at the date this video was uploaded "Chomsky defends Ron Lawl""
So what are you saying? Chomsky totally disagrees with most of Paul´s policies. You do know the difference between Anarcho-Syndicalism and "libertarianism" right..?
Pauls foreign policies are not horrible. Its the economic policies that are awful.
Alright, I'll eat my words. You don't deserve such negativity. I don't know the difference between Anarcho-Syndicalism and Libertarianism. And I thank you for providing the link for which I may educate myself.
I just have a hard time with trusting in any sort of system, especially ones that end in 'ism'. I wasn't created so that I would have to serve as slave to any system. I was put here so that I might have the choice to differentiate between good and evil and accept the consequences of my actions. What I do not need is for another human being to fabricate these consequences out of thin air and control my own fate or destiny.
I understand your distrust for politicians. There have been lots of awful "isms", yes. Leninism, Nazism, Stalinism.....and capitalism..:) They all favor tyranny, the latter private tyranny: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqlTyAMVDUk
Anarcho-Syndicalism / Libertarian Socialism however, wants to dismantle all types of hierarchies and tyrannical structures, whether it´s state tyrannies or private tyrannies. Instead AS/LS wants to build democracy from the bottom up thru cooperating workers councils/democratic workplaces, democratic communities, and federations. In this way people would be in control of their own lives.

"Personally I think it´s important to stay non-violent, at least now in the beginning of this uprising."
I agree, but if things get to a certain point, being non-violent isn't going to help. Yes, it will take an extreme situation to get to that point, but it could happen.
Here's the reality of the matter. Groups are unfortunately judged by their worst element. A good example would be Muslims. Now alot of people will see a long beard and turban and think terrorist when that is not at all the case because only a small fraction of the religion are militant. However they all carry the stigma now. Same with OWS. You can line 100 protesters together and only 10 of them will be "pot smoking hippie layabouts". Now when the conservatives and media look at them they don't see 90 struggling men/women and 10 hippies, They just see 10 hippies there for all of them must be the same. which is not true. so basically people struggling is not news but "dirty hippie protests" are.
Edit* Some conservatives and some media is what i should have said. my apologies. I pride myself on trying to be better than that.
Very much true. In the U.S., Indians were mistaken as Iranians when Iran was detaining U.S. Tehran Embassy personnel. A few Sikhs were actually murdered because they wore turbans, too - they looked too much like Muslim extremists. This sort of indiscretion if used indiscriminately will turn the masses into ravenous wolf packs hungering for "justice" (or more like revenges).

It just shows the brilliant fucking ignorance of people and their biases and bigotry. They can't think enough to look into things before labeling someone one thing or another.
My company recently had presentations and African Americans, Latin Americans, Middle Eastern Americans, and Asian Americans to teach people a little about each culture. These and other minorities are a big part of my company's business. Part of what we learned is that Sikhs are from India and now live throughout the world and aren't Muslim at all, but they wear turbans. Instead of learning about people and cultures, others love to lump them into one group and hate. I'm sick and tired of it.
If people learn to see others as individuals, we would have much less strife in this world. Even though I had mentioned about Iranians in my last post, almost all Iranians did not deserve to be harassed about the U.S. hostage incident. Many Iranians share similar frustrations that I have about our own government. They complain of theocratic dictatorship in hushed tones and I complain about the coming military dictatorship by exercising my first amendment rights. As I had learned, knowingly gasping for the (hopefully not) last breath of freedom before going into water can be an orgasmic experience as I know that I stood up and would be counted. Oh, you are from Michigan, how did your state's Senator Carl Levin get into sponsoring the grotesque Senate bill S.1867 that proposes to use our MILITARY to detain U.S. citizens indefinitely without trial or representation? What is your take on the Michigan politics that led to that? I thought that it would be much more urgent for him to work on getting the extension of unemployment insurance before the end of this year. Michigan needs that, doesn't it? The area of the old auto-industry is still severely depressed economically. I remember that some unemployed autoworker murdered a Chinese man with a baseball bat during the early 1980's, mistaking him for a Japanese, perhaps. At that time Michigan was suffering from massive unemployment but the Japanese cars were making inroads. We seem to be going through similar time there now. Will Michigan's judicial system again value a human life at a few thousand dollars as in that baseball bat murder case? As I think about it, the Michigan court and jury had to have made that into a manslaughter case. Yes, it had to be an ACCIDENT all right - I know how to play baseball, too, a most American game that teaches camaraderie, patience, waiting for your turn, and everyone getting the few minutes of fame and glory.

I totally agree. Yes, I'm from Michigan. I'm not sure why Levin sponsored that bill, and I'm completely appalled by it. He usually stands up for people's rights and fights for them. Sponsoring this bill doesn't make sense at all. I will be writing him about it.
My take on Michigan politics is that our state government is controlled by Republicans right now.... Governor, Attorney General, Senate and House. So many things have changed here since Snyder and Co. have been in power, and it's not good at all (some things have changed for the good.... like hugely cutting welfare benefits to those who are capable of working but who are too lazy to).
Snyder has been going through the state appointing "emergency managers" to several cities, taking away the cities' power of their elected officials. He rammed this law through to allow himself to be able to do this, and people are pissed about it. It's in the works to recall this law. It just so happens that ALL of the cities he's putting on the chopping block are predominantly of African American population.... some of them close to being exclusively African American.
He's nothing but a liar, a hypocrite, and a dictator (making a law to give him all the power to appoint emergency managers to cities, so that they can take away the powers of ELECTED officials). He lied about many other things as well.
" the extension of unemployment insurance before the end of this year. Michigan needs that, doesn't it?"
Yes, it does.
Oh, and Snyder wants to bring in a lot of immigrants with college degrees to get jobs here. I'm not at all against immigrants coming here, but I have a problem with this when our unemployment rate is so high. Our citizens should be taken care of first, and he doesn't give a shit about them at all.

The truth is that Rand Paul is one of the biggest idiots around. That is based on what I have heard him say out of his own mouth. That is NOT bigotry but is based on facts. He has no clue about politics but thinks he does. His ideas are backwards and anti-progressive.

"Abortion and bioethics
Paul is opposed to abortion and supports a Human Life Amendment and a Life at Conception Act.[127][128][129] He also opposes abortion in cases of rape and incest,[130] but supports use of the morning-after pill.[131] He opposes federal funding for abortion.[128] He takes a states' rights position, favoring the overturn of Roe v. Wade and allowing states to decide on the legality of abortions without federal involvement.[132]
According to the Paul campaign, Paul received a 100% pro-life score on a Kentucky Right to Life survey[133] and indicated on the survey that he opposed human cloning. This was disputed by Kentucky Right to Life, however, who endorsed Paul's primary opponent instead and claimed that Paul did not, in fact, answer the cloning question.[134]"
NO ONE has the right to tell me or any other woman what they can or can't do with their bodies.... regardless. This is one reason why I said he's an idiot.
Health care
Paul opposes federal government involvement in health care. He would repeal the HMO Act of 1973 that "drives a wedge between the patient and [one's] doctor".[144] He believes that government has driven up the cost of health care and causes the quality and coverage to decrease. Paul would support a free market approach to health care, including tax deductions for medical expenses. He opposes federal regulations discouraging businesses from providing coverage. He supports Health Savings Accounts (HSAs).[144] On Medicare, Paul has suggested higher deductibles as well as changes to premiums or eligibility rules as ways to address what he sees as the program's looming financial problems, saying "You want to have more participation by the person who's receiving the entitlement... by that I mean that they need to be more involved with some sort of economic transaction every time they use their entitlement, and that means they have to bear more of the burden."[145] Paul also stated that he does not support such changes for current retirees or people nearing retirement.[145]"
This is another reason.
"Same-sex marriage
Paul opposes same-sex marriage, but believes the issue should be left to the States to decide.[129]"
This is another reason. It's none of any damn government's business who a person marries. Religion has no place in politics, and this belief comes from religion.
"Second Amendment
Paul would oppose all gun control legislation, a position he says is supported by the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution.[155]"
U.S. Senate bill S1867's sponsors are Carl Levin, chairman of the Armed Services Committee and John McCain, Senator from the state of Arizona. The Senate passed the bill because the Senators were terribly scared, knowing how extremely popular they had become. They expected many of the American people to visit them in the U.S. Senate in person so they came up with an ultra-patriotic bill to protect the U.S. against all enemies, foreign and domestic, especially domestic because the foreign enemies are well decoyed and blocked by our armed forces and homeland security personnel overseas. Senator John McCain spent years in a Hanoi Hilton after he had been captured as a U.S. pilot during VietNam war. He enjoyed his patriotic experience so much that he believed that it would serve well for ANYONE in the U.S. to have the same service-to-America experience. He could have become the U.S. President if not for Obama because he was the Republican-party nominee for the U.S. Presidency in 2008 running against Barack Obama. Conspiracy theorists sound cuckoo sometimes but most things have real grains of truth in them, even Hansel and Gretel fairy tales, so they may just be inarticulate, perhaps. I strongly suspect that what you are saying may very well come true - the U.S. is making a historic breakthrough to invent the newer-than-new-and-improved non-suspect citizenship, after the new-and-improved domestic citizenship and the original national citizenship. I just do not agree with jimmycrackerson that our conservatives will just let this slip by when the implication finally penetrates their skulls. Many have armed themselves with guns and ammunitions against the "socialist" assault by Obama administration and some had proven to be capable of going out in glory. Obama is at least better than a paper weight because he "occupies" the Presidency. Imagine John McCain being the U.S. President instead! He had Phil Gramm of Texas as his chief economic advisor during his presidential bid - the SAME Gramm who sponsored Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act doing away with Glass-Steagall which eventually had the entire world almost fallen into the financial abyss in 2008 and still suffering from it. Birds of the same ilk flock together, right? What is that smell? Get me an ovulating female, maybe she has a better nose.
Is that really why? I wonder if we are getting a rerun of McCain's Keating 5 experience. History rhymes and reruns are cheap. Thanks! It is a good hypothesis.
Really why? Just stating facts. Does it ever appear to you that Islam and Israel both seem vying for ultimate control of the United States in order to destroy the other?
To test if Israel really has the hold on McCain and Levin, I want to see how they act when Iran finally gets the nuclear bombs and arms their missiles with the bombs. Many different "isms" and countries vie to steer the U.S. as a pawn. We have our "Citizens United" Supreme Court decision that provides camouflage for these attempts. The U.S. is now officially OPEN for BUSINESS for foreign meddling of U.S. politics. Some say that government should work more like businesses. Yes, this is how it works like and this will boost our media propaganda business alright.
Frankly, they've been fighting since the beginning of both their civilizations began. I say, let them but, America needs to stay out of it unless either directly threatens whatever Sovereignty we have remaining, or manage to reclaim.
If you'd like to see prior test results which clearly assure any rational person of said "hold", just look. Their records don't lie.
Well, first of all, you are from Finland. Americans don't give a rat's ass what you think.
And you aren't smelling civil war. You are smelling Hesburger's down the street. Go stuff one down so you can think a little better. Lack of food and warm sun on your skin is making you delusional.
And in case you are wondering, the VAST majority of Americans really don't care what OWS does. They are a bunch of kids like you who don't know how to leave mommy's nest.

"Well, first of all, you are from Finland. Americans don't give a rat's ass what you think."
Wow, that's a great attitude you have. No wonder other countries hate Americans so much. Maybe that's your shitty attitude, but for those of us who value the opinions of others, we like to hear what people from other countries have to say. I guess you have no friends from other countries, do you?
"And in case you are wondering, the VAST majority of Americans really don't care what OWS does. They are a bunch of kids like you who don't know how to leave mommy's nest."
Yes, it absolutely is. America FIRST. Finland has a whopping population of 5,000,000. There entire population is smaller than greater New York City. I really don't care what they think! Whoop-de-doo!
And, the entire population, of OWS, if measured in arrests, is around 1,000, give or take, in a country of 350,000,000. Even if you count anonymous heads in an occupy crowd, their aggregate is likely less than one fifth of one percent of the American population.
simplesimon,
Try not to measure significance by population numbers. America has been FIRST in the last century in many measures and still FIRST now in some but population-wise the U.S. is behind China and India. Do you believe that the Chinese and Indians do not and should not "give a rat's ass what [the U.S.] thinks"? I believe that China and India very much give a hippotamus' ass to what the U.S. thinks. China and India have every right based on population, longevity of civilization, and culture to belittle the U.S. but most people will tell you are out of your mind if you say the world does not "give a rat's ass" what the U.S. thinks. Finland may be a small country with sparse population but it IS an INDEPENDENT AND FREE country right next to the "Soviet/Russian bear" and it is NO ACCIDENT that it is so. Look again at Mikedribbles' post - he seems keenly aware of Stalin's Russia. I'll be really proud if we in the U.S. have transmitted to our younger ones and the populace historical awareness a quarter as well as Finland did to Mikedribbles. Finland has an educational system that works well and had stood solidly as the Rock of Gibraltar at Freedom's frontier.
Finland is also one of the most homogenous (sp) countries in the world, not a true reflection of anything that matters in this world. Name 3 major world contributions brought forth by Finland.
We are not discussing China and India, and I really don't give a rat's ass about what they think either. They should care about what we think because we still have the strongest economy in the world.
Finland has no historical significance. China and India do. China's current claim to fame is theft of American copyrights, inventions and technology, putting slave labor to work to take away American designed market share. India is a great country with its own set of issues. I don't care anything about their issues in the slightest.
Finland -- I don't care
China -- Thieves of invention
India -- Cheap labor
Freedom not just during the Cold War at the doorstep of the Soviet/Russian juggernaut, Educational system that teaches its people historical awareness and much else, and Nokia (If you had owned Nokia stock early and known to jump off the rocket-ride at the federal reserve's tightening and the subsequent onset of the credit crunch, you would have become extremely wealthy). Hopefully, China will overcome its xenophobia steeped in the European colonial incursions and mature as a new and RESPONSIBLE world power and India will break through its multifarious institutional barriers to upgrade its infrastructures and institutions to emerge from the grinding poverty still suffered by many Indians.
Lest you missed it - much of the world (China and India included) cares about what we think because we are the bull and sometimes bully in the china shop. Actually, my real concern is that we in the U.S. do NOT think, disappoint the world terribly, and then let it go to pot.
China's behavior on trade with U.S. is indeed despicable, especially using state power to force divulging technologies to native Chinese companies. I would not call Chinese labor "slave labor" because China has severe problem controlling country folks sneaking into cities to take what you call "slave labor" jobs. To be sure, the conditions for the workers are bad but what can one do about it? I say send in our unions there if possible - yes, I am a day dreamer but I am unapologetic. Copyright and patent infringements definitely need more help from China's government.

There are many more supporters than those who show up at the protests. It's not possible for everyone who agrees with and supports the movement to physically go to NYC. And the number of protesters fluctuates each day, so saying they are only 1,000 is completely inaccurate.
You know, it's good to hear from people from other countries about things that ACTUALLY WORK THERE for the COMMON PERSON. We could get ideas from that.... you know, for things that are broken here.
Communism is NOT the way to go. Look at China. They are doing well because they turned their economy CAPITALISTIC starting in 1979. The world was providing the upkeep for the platform supporting somewhat free trade for China as a developing country. China has become more of a free loader recently because in many measures China is no longer juvenile and should shoulder more responsibilities. Capitalism does not need to be ended. Rather capitalism needs to be harnessed with better values by the people, institutions, and the governments. Communism failed because it is subject to the "tragedy of the commons". There are many idiots in this world who will drive our planet off a cliff for a little convenience and wealth. It was fine in the old days when we did not have idiots in the billions so the Earth can take the lumps but nowadays the situation is vastly different because everything is globalized and becoming electronically connected. Financial reactions can travel at electronic speeds but our systems and morals are still century or centuries behind the times.
I honestly don't think that would work here. It just a completely different culture. China has a very "do what you're told." kinda country. The people are groomed into that from a very early age by their elders. It turns them into a more docile culture. People in america are just way too extroverted. Not to mention we have a high competitive nature. However there are ascept of the nation that should be socialized to be sure.
You are stereotyping the Chinese. They are not competitive? They are docile and not entrepreneurial? If so, how have they been the leading civilization for 17 of the past 20 centuries?
Its not stereotyping the Chinese its just the culture. Its about legacy versus the individual. If you're born in China and your father runs a store chances are you're running a that store when you grow up. Do i think all Chinese people are like this? No. I also didn't say they weren't hard working. which is why they are leading civilization. They are working for the collective though instead of their own individual want or need.
You are basically stereotyping Chinese as drones who have no creativity and only succeed through hard work. I guess you have never been to China recently. The individual drive and ambition is breath-taking. Everyone wants to be an entrepreneur and get rich for.... themselves. 30 years ago, it was mostly an rural, agricultural country. Today, mostly an urban country. There goes your crazy theory of son following farmer father.
No, fair enough i could be totally wrong. My opinion didn't come from jackie chan flix. it came talking with people there and study. So what I got out of it may not be what you go out of it. Not to mention that the themselves are protesting the conditions that they have to work in. Difference is we get pepper spray, they get tanks. If there were working for themselves then that's not communism. However I am open to correction so good on ya.
they can break up encampments all they want, we will just do something else. we need more actions with big, big turnouts. big numbers are very powerful. and would love more "mic checking" of campaigning politicians and others like this:

I smell civil war.
ps. sorry for the typos, im mad
R.Paul is not brilliant. Bear in mind that he and his father wants to give huge tax cuts for the superwealthy and give all the power to private power. That´s not brilliant, that´s reactionary and contributing to more problems. The world needs democracy not privatization.
struggleforfreedom
You're spot on my friend! It saddens me how a young man from Finland understands more about what is going on than half of the shit-brained conservatives in their own country. Thanks for your support Mikedribbles!
But I still stand by Ron Paul and his ideas more than that fucker Obama, who can't seem to get anything productive accomplished. I mean he can freeze gaddahfi's assets all the way over in Africa but for some reason can't do the same for wallstreetbankerscorporations he presides over. I smell a traitor...
Obama can't get anything productive accomplished, because the Republicans keep blocking any sort of progress. Obama isn't the blame for everything.
Moron.

Is that enough for you?
Have you actually read those bills? Do you believe all the pundits' opinions of what they really mean?
The payroll tax is a huge trojan horse as are several other of these plans.
Bottom line, your boy likes to write executive orders, which are indeed unconstitutional. Do you ever ask why he doesn't just write in whatever he wants? He does and can.
The bi-party stuff is just about substantive enough to entertain new graduates from the Romper Room crowd.
Both sides suck, both sides have dirty hands, both sides protect each other, both sides are for sale.
Your accusations that he has communistic tendencies in quite infantile.
Well, many intelligent people agree with such views. However, the very idea of a Swiss wet or dry nurse, does intrigue me.
oh, so when RPaul wants to give huge tax cuts for the superwealthy and handing over all the power to private tyrannies that´s a good idea..?
struggleforfreedom
"Private Tyrannies, you mean your individual state?"
No. I mean corporations: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqlTyAMVDUk
"Huge tax cuts for the superwealthy? They pay virtually nothing anyhow."
..so therefore they deserve even more tax cuts...? (like Paul suggests)
If you like democracy you should favor Anarcho-Syndicalism:

http://struggleforfreedom.blogg.no/1317735903_chomsky_explains_libe.html
To which Paul are you referring?
Both.
You are mistaken, but, don't let facts stand in the way of your ludicrous promotion of a certainly doomed to fail direct democracy.
Nope.
where do they differ exactly? (when it comes to private enterprise and "libertarianism")
http://www.barefootsworld.net/consti16.html
Can you pass this test?
I don´t know about you, but I want people who are alive today to have a say in what kind of society we should have, not dead slave owners.
We should favor democracy, not a old piece of paper dictating policies.
See what i mean Mike? Mr.Simon here is a prime example.
"Rand Paul is one of the biggest idiots around who needs to get out of the government. He certainly has his head up his ass."
Hear hear! He wants total private tyranny http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxPUvQZ3rcQ
"if things continue (police state actions and such) and get worse, there WILL be a HUGE uprising here, and people WILL NOT stay non-violent."
Personally I think it´s important to stay non-violent, at least now in the beginning of this uprising. I´ve written about this in my article The Transition Phase: The Road to Freedom When we get big enough we can take more direct action, including more self defense.
yours s. struggleforfreedom

Then...
Look at the date this video was uploaded "Chomsky defends Ron Paul"

Stop trying to spread disinformation...YOU STUPID FUCK.
"You are a fucking retard"
What are you, like 13 years old..?
"Look at the date this video was uploaded "Chomsky defends Ron Lawl""
So what are you saying? Chomsky totally disagrees with most of Paul´s policies. You do know the difference between Anarcho-Syndicalism and "libertarianism" right..?
Pauls foreign policies are not horrible. Its the economic policies that are awful.
"Stop trying to spread disinformation"
What are you refering to, exactly..?
We don´t need privatization and private tyranny like Paul wants, we need more democracy: http://struggleforfreedom.blogg.no/1320873951_the_society_we_should.html
Join us in our fight for more democracy!
Libertarian Socialism explained:

"Personally I think it´s important to stay non-violent, at least now in the beginning of this uprising."
I agree, but if things get to a certain point, being non-violent isn't going to help. Yes, it will take an extreme situation to get to that point, but it could happen.
Sure. Let´s just hope the revolution - the transition to a free and democratic societywill go as smoothly as possible. Yours s.
I hope so.
Snyder campaigned on creating jobs for Michigan, but he has yet to bring the unemployment rate down at all. http://www.annarbor.com/business-review/michigans-unemployment-rate-will-top-15-through-2011-economic-forecast-says/
Thanks for the update about Michigan politics from the ground. Keep up your spunky campaign. I am with you.
You're welcome. ;)
Guess what I am sick and tired of this morning. Ignorance, biases, bigotry such as you post over and over:
"Rand Paul is one of the biggest idiots around. who needs to get out of the government. He certainly has his head up his ass."
Such statements can easily be turned into facts such as:
"He is an idiot because he doesn't have his head up MY ass."
Everyone is entitled to their opinions but such judgments are not very becoming to you. YOU sure have your label maker running overtime.
The truth is that Rand Paul is one of the biggest idiots around. That is based on what I have heard him say out of his own mouth. That is NOT bigotry but is based on facts. He has no clue about politics but thinks he does. His ideas are backwards and anti-progressive.
And I don't give a shit what you think.
[Deleted]
"Abortion and bioethics Paul is opposed to abortion and supports a Human Life Amendment and a Life at Conception Act.[127][128][129] He also opposes abortion in cases of rape and incest,[130] but supports use of the morning-after pill.[131] He opposes federal funding for abortion.[128] He takes a states' rights position, favoring the overturn of Roe v. Wade and allowing states to decide on the legality of abortions without federal involvement.[132] According to the Paul campaign, Paul received a 100% pro-life score on a Kentucky Right to Life survey[133] and indicated on the survey that he opposed human cloning.
Health care Paul opposes federal government involvement in health care.
"Same-sex marriage Paul opposes same-sex marriage, but believes the issue should be left to the States to decide.[129]"
This is another reason. It's none of any damn government's business who a person marries. Religion has no place in politics, and this belief comes from religion.
"Second Amendment Paul would oppose all gun control legislation, a position he says is supported by the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution.[155]"
This is complete idiocy.
Both sponsors of the bill are Dual National Israeli Loyalists.
Okay. Thanks.
You are so incredibly ignorant and biased.
You guys are really nothing.
simplesimon, Try not to measure significance by population numbers.
Finland -- I don't care China -- Thieves of invention India -- Cheap labor
Ok...then you have options.
If you think Finland is a place that ACTUALLY WORKS, then go live there.
It's a land full of alcoholics and suicidal maniacs.
If things are so broken here, how is it that you can even post on the internet? How many layers of money does it take to do that Swissy Poo?
Good luck Phoenix. Always wanted and still do, to visit you city for some reason. Bless you. Love, support & solidarity.

someone try staking one and see if I'm right. just kidding. lol.
They would have a hard time ambushing protesters during daylight.

Communism is the only way to go. Look at China. They are doing well. We gotta end capitalism.
Financial reactions can travel at electronic speeds but our systems and morals are still century or centuries behind the times.
well said.
there are more alternatives than just leninism and capitalism. Personally I favor Libertarian Socialism / Anarcho-Syndicalism:

Oh and i didn't say The chinese were drones with no creativity. You said that not me. I'm well aware that's not the case.
yes but that won't last long .....
