Great video. But God what horrible music. Somebody's got to be able to do better than that. Your music matters. And he's complaining about the government? What about Wall Street -- the guys who own the government?

WE CAN NOT ALLOW the corrupt cable news stations (msnbc, fox ect) to manipulate the messege of why we are all here! they have allready started to paint a picture claiming that we are the "leftist tea party". WE ARE NOT!!. EVERY demand on the streets and messege we want to send has ONE thing indefinetly in common. That is political corruption through super pac donars and corporate political financing has become the source of all our problems. I am not right wing nor leftist. Thoes who belive they are can only be Divisive, no good can come from this. We must unite under the understanding that as a nation we have allowed severe corruption to spread like a virus! -THE DISMANTALING OF CORPORATE FINANCIAL CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTIONS and SUPERPAC FUNDING WILL START THE CHANGE WE NEED

Sleeping bag problem…. Lowes & Home Depot sell a 6×9 ft canvas cloth for 12.48 and Eastern Mountain Sports has a 10oz bottle of water proofing spray for about the same price… With these 2 items you now have a water proof tarp or covering for your blanket and sleeping bag. It works really good. Otherwise you’ll just be sleeping in a cold wet mess of a sleeping bag…good luck peeps! The Refugee

Great video and I feel so proud of this!! but why is the music resemble late 60s early 70s rock (hendrix like guitar playing)? Its 2011 and this is our generation. Please don't make this something that reflects another time period. In addition, I'd hate for viewers to ignorantly stereotype the people directly involved in this movement who currently welcomes people of all genders, race, age, political views, beliefs, religion, careers, etc. I personally don't believe this, but I can already hear the thoughts of people who hear the music in this video saying "Looks like some hippie, liberal movement" and its not! (Nothing wrong with either, I consider myself the latter). No offense to the band either. Please consider a different sound/image that reflects all of the people who feel the grief that we are currently feeling in this country. Love you :)

Did you notice how old the NYPD force is? Nothing against the elderly but do you think that an old and out of shape force is able to combat crime by chasing a robber down the streets? No wonder they are enable solve any crime they are too busy taking a nap. There is no age limitation or any fiscal exam for these dinosaurs of the NYPD

The 8th USA Parliament

http://www.usparliament.org/

Be a part of a national 100 member Sainte-Lague parliament seat distribution system today. All names, all parties, independents, voters and non voters are invited.

The old school politics under plurality elections and single winner districts where fighting, conflict, yes/no, black/white, etc., is being improved.

A new school of ranked choice majority and consensus voting, where more alternatives are better and the majority is still 50% plus one vote, is wanting to occupy the old pluralistic institutions that do not use ranked choice voting. They use check the box, click the dot, raise the hand, nod the head, yes/no, punch the hole (sometimes resulting in chads), in other words any voting system other than consecutively ranked numbers beginning with the number one, in muti-member districts of two or more, the more the better.

With sixty full ministries, your name may participate as a Director on the national level, or in one of twelve population balanced super-states; New York, California, Texas, and nine groups of smaller populated states grouped together for population balancing purposes.

With a guaranteed satisfaction level currently at 99% (1/101ths) plus 100 votes, starting 1/1/2012 the 8th USA Parliament Election of 2012 will expand to 1000 members, each elected with .999% (1/1001ths) plus one vote, with a total satisfaction level guaranteed to be 99.9% plus 1000 votes.

Thank you very much for considering the Sainte-Lague parliament seat distribution system.

We look forward to explaining how this can unite all people in the USA and other countries like Libya, etc. to improve their economies through democracy, and to help avoid war and conflict.

OCCUPY WALL STREET PLEASE MARCH ON the BIGGEST CORPORATE IMMIGRATION LAW FIRM in the WORLD.

Fragomen, Bernsen, Del Rey, and Loewy- Has been responsible for countless American jobs to be outsourced and INSOURCED. They consistently find ways to MANIPULATE LABOR LAWS so giant corporations can save money by hiring foreign workers to work in corporate offices in AMERICA.

99 million of the 99% march across America

[-] 1 points by augievikingsdg (2) 12 years ago

I watched this movement gaining momentum each day, i was thinking what about a 99 million march. I the belt way media have been spinning this thing as having no clear consensus. I think they are a part of problem. I encourage every disenfranchised american that year after year slowly see their dreams and aspirations becoming more and more far out of their reach to stand-up and let their voices be heard.

So this what i think, i would like to see 99 million of the 99% join this movement and let your voices be heard.

P. S. Demands is a hostile word. Too early for that, anyway. Right now, it's message time and the message is that the System is fucked!!

[-] 3 points by jcm1027 (32) from Eugene, OR 12 years ago

Indeed, too early for demands and "demands" are things hostage takers make. There's nothing being held hostage here; this is OUR country and these are OUR lives. Don't make the mistake that when naysayers ask, "But what are their demands?", to think that some specific demands would somehow validate the movement, or that not having specific demands invalidates the movement. Again, this isn't a hostage situation, and it's not like if there were a set of "demands" today that there would be a vote tomorrow and the changes would go into effect immediately. The changes will take time and they won't happen all at once.

[-] 2 points by readytogo (80) from Brooklyn, NY 12 years ago

Agreed. They are so confused by this- What do they want?? They don't understand the paradigm shift that we are done going through their channels and are joining together on our own. First we must come together. Then we must discuss, learn, grow together into solidarity. We aren't instantly on the same page because we've been so programmed to be separate and divisive. Let's not be influenced by their pressure to come up with some sloppy demands that aren't well thought through, discussed and supported. We've got the floor now, so let them stay confused.

[-] 1 points by TomZarek (3) 12 years ago

My coworker is saying that Rush Limbaugh read a list of demands off of the OccupyWallStreet site, including the forgiving of all debts. I can't find anything like this. Is there anything here or on some loosely affiliated site that could be the basis of this? As of yet I wasn't aware that any unifying principles/demands had emerged.

[-] 2 points by Skysthelimit00 (6) 12 years ago

Yeah, some moron posted a list of ridiculous demands in the forum which i cannot find anymore. The list was absurd and in my opinion and would do more to push people away from this movement than help it to gain support.

[-] 1 points by TomZarek (3) 12 years ago

I thought it would turn out to be something like that. Typical. Apparently Limbaugh presented it as if it were an official list of demands. I've tried to show my friend the way these right wing pundits twist things and that they can't be trusted, but its like sweeping with a whisk broom in a dust storm.

[-] 1 points by jcm1027 (32) from Eugene, OR 12 years ago

Yep. There's definitely some stupid stuff in the forums. Makes me think either people are 1) so angry they don't think straight or 2) trying to make the movement look dumb. As far as 2), what would stop Rush himself from posting exactly that? Nothing really. That's the nature of the internet, and democracy itself!

[-] 1 points by jcm1027 (32) from Eugene, OR 12 years ago

The unifying principle is, "We are the 99%". Does it really take a rocket scientist to understand? If so, here's a hint: economic/political inequality is what is being protested.

As far as "demands", that's what hostage takers make, and this isn't a hostage situation. Well, it could be said that the corporations/banks are holding America hostage and their demand seems to be "work to make us rich and f-off if you think you're going to get a piece of our pie".

And yeah, "forgive all debts" is not only ignorant/essentially impossible (without abandoning money altogether), it's rather selfish and NOT what this movement is about.

[-] 1 points by TomZarek (3) 12 years ago

We all understand the slogan. We all understand that wealth disparity in this country hasn't been this bad since before the great depression. What we don't have is any articulated set of goals for the movement. The tea party didn't just have "get rid of liberalism" as a goal. They sloganed "taxed enough already" and it was clear enough to scare all those republican to paint themselvesin a corner by pledging never to raise taxes. These don't even have to be official positions, they only need to be individual desires expressed with enough clarity by enough people that liberal and progressive politicians feel emboldened to act on the collective message. The collective message hasn't emerged as of yet as much more than "rich people bad" If something clearer than that doesn't emerge then at best the Democratic politicians will just make their own interpretations of the noise and decide how it can best help them.

One of the problems that I see is how horribly difficult it is to find the actual living document that shows the current topics being voted on.

This is what I have found http://coupmedia.org/occupywallstreet/occupy-wall-street-official-demands-2009 But I can't even tell if its valid.

[-] -1 points by kestrel (274) 12 years ago

They can't make up their mind just an endless list of proposals. What he read was just a proposal but that is all there is. However, if you look at their press release declaration, it isn't out of line.

[-] 0 points by ForeignFriend (1) from Brooklyn, NY 12 years ago

Guys, do You really think that this is "fight" for something ? Do You think it is possible to win a card sharper playing by his rules ? From videos on this site I get an impression that people were standing, posinig in front of cameras and waiting for being arrested. Nobody will pay any attention to your demands unless You hamper their corrupt businesses.

We, people of other countries, do support your movement, but we see that You americans even have no idea how to demand something from authorities. Take lessons from mass protests in other countries.

[-] 1 points by jcm1027 (32) from Eugene, OR 12 years ago

Also, where is the call or boycotts and strikes? IMO, THAT is what will make the money masters start to think something is serious. Street theater is just that, street theater. Let's start changing the way we live, RIGHT NOW. You don't need government or business leaders to "make change" to be able to quit giving your money to the greedy.

[-] 1 points by AWESOMEROBOT (32) from Fayetteville, AR 12 years ago

As long as you have an attitude of "We Americans and We Europeans" you won't get too far. We the people.

Americans know how to get what they want, but it hasn't come to that yet. E.g. 1775, 1812, 1863, 1967, 1968, 1992, 1999, 2001...

This is just the beginning.

Apparently i am the only one who thinks this move on the bridge was a mistake? I guess yall had it planned, then getting arrested was also planned. then stop fcking whyning. Without any explanation of why you want to block the bridge, to me it is a stupid move. Your marches lack coordination if people didnt know they were getting arrested for this. Or you are purpously engaging with the policeforce and acting all innocent on camera. Thats mediamanipulation. Thats a bad start for the movement that wants to make the world a more honest place. I am dissapointed.

[-] 2 points by jph (2652) 12 years ago

[-] 1 points by Echwell (7) from Rijsbergen, NB 12 years ago

i am trying to be objective and worried about how the public views the protest. All i am saying s that it was a choice. Dont judge me, i dont judge you.

[-] -1 points by GreenIguana (36) from New York, NY 12 years ago

I was at the march on the Brooklyn Bridge. Before the arrests started, at least from my end, the police allowed people to leave without being arrested. I and a bunch of other people left and were not arrested, even though we were on the roadway. Those who stayed chose to be arrested; they could have left. Let's be clear with our facts.

[-] 2 points by MiMi1026 (937) from Springfield, VA 12 years ago

Im proud of the people who sacrifice themselves to be arrested. This is the grandchildren of the 60's demonstrators alieve and well. They got BACKBONE! They are not cowards.

[-] 2 points by RedDread (57) from Bethel, CT 12 years ago

This is not true, I was near the front and as the arrests continued I was closer to the front until I was at the front and taken as well. There was nowhere to go from there except into the hands of the police.
