On May Day: What Are You Doing? Occupy Wall Street!

Posted 11 years ago on May 1, 2012, 3:09 a.m. EST by OccupyWallSt

A civil disobedience action took place across from the New York Stock Exchange on Friday April 27th 2012 for the second week in a row. This time the action was carried out mostly by women, some of which are mothers, as they occupied the sidewalks to protest Wall Street with their bodies.

To: ProudAmerican101.. what is your problem? If you're such a proud American..that you claim to be.. why is it you tolerate the alien in the White House waking up with new rules and bills that take away your freedoms? ie.. freedom of speech... I'm from Canada. I'm watching our jobs being outsourced to cheap labor countries and how my neighbors are crying because 'they' are having to go bankrupt. What's so proud about that? They (couple) worked everyday.. they didn't deserve what's happening. Does our government care? No.. As long as corporations keep filling their pockets on the backs of the middle class.. oh.. I'm sorry.. there IS no middle class anymore.. I meant to say.. the poor.. our government will do nothing. And as long as you stay silent pretend to be 'proud' and poor, then you, like everyone else who's still sleeping.. needs to simply go back to sleep where you're safe. But please, don't put people down for being vocal. Not everyone wants to be on the 'system.'

Student who have student loans in the thousands have no way of paying them (high interest loans) back if there are no jobs. We have the same situation here in Canada.

By the way.. I own my own home and vehicle. They aren't new, but they are paid for. Hard work.. when there 'was' good paying employment. My job of five years just left for India.. I don't need the system.. but maybe the other 350 that lost theirs with mine.. do. I will NOT put them down for that. Good luck being proud in slumber.

I've been there and done that, I've lost a house and filed bank ruptcy, and now I'm un employed. Who's fault was it? It was mine and no one else! I'm proud to get a loan and pay for my home, I'm a proud American! I'll get another job, and I'll pay off my house. I've traveled the world and there are not many places in this world that has the freedom that America has. Don't turn this country into a welfare state, because you will certainly lose your freedoms. You have the freedom of speech to make yourselves look like jealous children, you don't want to work for what you want. And I have my freedom of speech to look at you jealous kids and worry about what you are doing!
