Posted 12 years ago on March 12, 2012, 11:52 a.m. EST by OccupyWallSt

Bank of America has stolen millions of homes. It's time to turn the tables! Watch a crew of Occupiers set up their new living room in a New York City branch of Bank of America, which is being rented by the taxpayers at a cost of $230 billion in bailouts from the U.S. government:

What they don’t understand is that banks have different rules, as explained by J. Stewart:

Darn the luck, bottom line is the bankers group defaulted on their mortgage even though they could make the payments because it was cheaper for them to rent. All the while they have a big finger waving thing about home owners doing the same, to save themselves.

Absolutely no statute of limitations for Wall Street crimes. These fraudsters have to be hunted down just like the bankers from Iceland.November is coming fast so the governments rhetoric will change, believe me.The fear of political survival may triumph over corporate mateship. But if the same ones are re-elected then little will change. This tact by OWS is brilliant in showcasing true face of these crooks.

This is what NEEDS to happen ACROSS THE USA. I salute you for doing this and can only hope that MORE homeowners find the RAGE to DO the same! Make this go Viral!! The Banks, GOV't, even the AGs think that we are Gullible, pathetic enough to Believe they are Trying to make things Right; wrong we do NOT believe it; the banks are criminals and do not own our homes! foreclosurenation.org see how some are fighting back and at notyourbankershome.com

Gee, the paperwork that came with my mortgage was pretty clear that as long as I made my payments, the house was mine to keep. Once I'd paid off the mortgage, the house was mine to keep. So guess what, I make sure that my mortgage payment is high on my budget. See http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/budget if you're confused about what a budget. Here's a hint. Spend more on housing, clothing, food and transportation to get to your job than you do on beer, coffee drinks, entertainment. Save for the day you lose your job and have to pay your bills without income. And stop whining about how the bank took your house that you weren't paying for. That was part of the deal you signed up for.

Funny PR piece. Now do this bit again, except with clean shaven mid-age to older middle-class dressed adults. Trust me. Just do it and carefully study the reaction. You will learn a lot.

Stop gearing your agitation propaganda solely towards an audience under 30.

Yes, banks have avoided public exposure for the criminal activities they get away with. For the most part they have made their crimes technically legal, but few people are aware of these manipulations. Remember that the goal of a demonstration is to inform the people and subsequently correct the problem. Please don't leave room for misinterpretations. And please strive to couple demonstrations with legislation.

This new agency should be on your side to correct the same problems: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/the-bureau/

It's not the banks fault you lost you're home. You didn't pay your'e mortgage and the bank took the house as collateral. Your'e an idiot if you think otherwise. It was people who bought houses they could not afford.

This is why I would never buy a house unless I had pure cash and therefor would not be privy to the bank. Mortgage is for slaves. We should know this by now.

[-] 2 points by JDub (218) 12 years ago

Why should you pay "rent" instead of a mortgage? You are not guaranteed a job for 30 years, ever, so why should the risk be any different. In most places, a mortgage costs less than rent, the difference being that you have to pay for repairs your self. The problem is the way we do housing in general.

[-] -1 points by MSPaladin (-1) 12 years ago

If you read the paperwork accompanying the mortgage, you would see that making regular payments was a requirement to keep your house. If your situation (ie income) changed, then you could have sold or re-negotiated with the bank. If you lost your job, then you should have sold the house. If the value of your house changed, then welcome to the club. It was a moderately interesting stunt - but only a stunt. Real change will take more than a few people deciding to "hang out" in a bank lobby.

Mayor Bloomberg, I have ask you before to run and win the Presidency of the United States of America. After 59 years in major politics and detailed knowledge of 53 segments of the economy the following is OUR case for You to Run: 1st. Republicans, a minimum of 40% do not favor any of the present candidates, 2nd. Democrats, a minimum of 40% DO NOT, I repeat do not favor Obama or Clinton. 3rd. and most importantly 80% of Independents do not favor Obama or Romney. Again from 59 yrs in politics YOU CAN WIN the Presidency in 2012. I spoke to 1000 visitors to Teton County WY last year, only 1 favored Obama, 100 were foreign visitors all thought Obama was incompetent, HE IS, all were upset that not one Wall Street Firm was convicted of Blatant Fraud, and Obama DID NOT reorganize our financial system correctly, HE HAS FAILED. As a Country we are absolutely financially a drift. Romney is backed by the same guys Obama is and backed by and the Mormon Church, both are absolute negatives going forward. Romney will not even say who they are? And we are going to vote for him! NO. Over the Winter 100's young college age Americans have come out West to ski NOT ONE of them favored Obama, all said and I quote "he was incompetent" FACT: If Obama would win again he would lead us no where....he failed the first time what makes it any different NOW?!?!?! It is time to move on RUNNING for the Presidency focus: A. Restructuring Our Financial System correctly, it absolutely can be done. The current form is 30 yrs out of date, from taxes to how the US Treasury and the Federal Reserve interact with all aspects of credit and lending. If it isn't completely changed how are we has a Nation going to compete against China......a Country that has managed its financial system so successfully over the last 30 years it has never been in Recession. Where as the USA thanks to Goldman-Sachs and the Bush Family have put US all of US in Recession 13 yrs out of the last 30: 88,89,90,91,part of 92, 2000, 01, part of 02, 2008,09,10,11,12. MIKE Bloomberg lead US out of the Financial Crisis by correctly changing the Our Financial System top to bottom A to Z......it absolutely can be done. IN A VERY SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME. B. This was the biggest Problem as far as all 999 visitors thought and the 250 this Winter>>> Public Corruption...............Take the time and review who Chris Swecker is a proven public leader who goes after corruption no matter who or what it is! The Voters will know Chris would be in charge at the US Attorney General position, would charge and convict White Collar and Corrupt Public Officials, they would be prosecuted, PERIOD. C. The majority 90% of All Americans have lost faith in Congress And the majority of Voters Independents, Republicans and Democrats have no faith in Obama or Romney...... I consider myself fairly conservative but voted for Obama Never Again no matter what, EVER! And I am leading the charge for Americans to NOT VOTE AT ALL if Romney or Obama are the only choices we have in this Great Democracy!

Mike Bloomberg President of the United States of America 2012 Strong and honest, a business leader, far more successful than either Romney or Obama. Can not be bought by secret PACs as Romney. Real businessman for decades not just one job or two as Obama, not just in business to make money than collapse a business as Romney. Not running for the Presidency to hold the position as is Romney or Obama but to completely reform and bring us back as a Nation of People. Bloomberg will build this Country with all parties, a stronger and far reaching business climate for Our Young People by restructuring are financial system from A to Z Everyone has had it with BS..........Obama's so called Change amounted to 2 full years with Pelosi and Reed that left us further in Debt as a Nation and we are no further up the road for our families our nation, his BS is just more BS, he is as the 999 say "incompetent". Romney is a Freak.........in just the last week has been documented lying at Campaign Stops all over the USA so many times the networks stopped counting. The Timing to Run is NOW, can it be done completely and thoroughly ABSOLUTELY JPE, Jim Evanhoe, Jackson Hole WY

Who needs more lawyers and businessmen as politicians? That's precisely the problem. Pity a scientist or philosopher as president would be too much brain for the American people to handle.

[-] -1 points by littlebiggygirl (26) from Hesperia, CA 12 years ago

our modern form of revolution - protest - raises awareness but does not change the system. this is because tyranny does not rely on your opinion to continue - it only requires your money. there is no better way to protest than to limit the amount of money you give the government. www.taxkilla.com

Really? What happens when the banks get closed or mortgages magically dissappear? Whoops, more people are out of work due to cut backs! Smart idea guys, real smart. Get off your ass and go back to work, and if you don't have a job and are looking for one? This will look REAL good to your employers. Things get around you know.
