I consider myself to be a patriotic American and a strong supporter of OWS. I also consider myself to be very fortunate, because we remain a relatively wealthy and free country.
However, I submit that every member of OWS is a HYPOCRITE who does not call for ending these wars and illegal occupations in the middle east and Africa.
How can you demand freedom, equity, equality, honesty, justice at home when we as citizens are funding and complicit with killing, bombing, droning, imprisoning, torturing innocent civilians in 7 (or 8?) other countries?
In a way, it makes us look like a bunch of privileged spoiled brats - we are not whining about getting killed or having deformed babies from depleted uranium bombs. We are protesting not having enough high-paying jobs anymore and having a criminal government and banking system. I'm not saying what Wall Street and the government has done is not bad, I'm saying that what we're allowing them to do to others in other countries is FAR WORSE.

STOP THE WARS NOW. This is the MOST important moral demand of justice we can make. DEMAND our leaders stop the killing and aggression. The same weapons we use on others over there are coming home to be used on us, our friends, and our families. It is only a matter of time.

Sadly, I agree with you. The increased militarization of our police and the advent of VIPR checkpoints with the "See something, Say something campaign" makes one feel like we are living in Nazi Germany.

I agree, no president has been a champion of the American people since JFK. I've seen Eisenhower's farewell speech - the scary part is, he was talking about today when he gave it. We have a military-industrial government that has the most technologically fearsome weapons arsenal in human history.

We sell the most weapons in the world. We make the most weapons in the world. We spend 6 times more than the next 3 countries combined for war. We have over 1000 military bases around the world. Our military is involved in over 100 countries around the world.
Just like the human body exists to keep the brain alive, the USA exists to make money to feed the military budget.
Democrats and republicans act as one to make cuts everywhere and hollow out America but not cut military activities or spending. No other country in the world can conquer us. Use diplomacy instead of guns. Rebuild America instead of blowing up the world.
