Forum Post: You filthy rich one percent pigs are nothing but a bunch of cowards. Read this if you dare.

God damn it. You die hard conservatives and filthy rich pigs absolutely refuse to understand the following: First, that record high charges in health care, energy, and finance also mean record high profits and record high dividends. 1/2 of which are paid to the richest one percent. This causes more hardship and more concentration of wealth. At the same time, more financial aid in the form of welfare, Medicare, and Medicaid becomes necessary. Especially with those record high charges and profits. As even more wealth is concentrated, the lower majority go into debt and lose their relative buying power. This results in less demand, layoffs, and higher unemployment. This results in even more legitimate need for financial aid, a slower economy, less revenue, and higher national debt. It's a downward cycle tied directly to the relentless concentration of wealth.

I'm not making excuses for those who sit on the couch, make no attempt to find work, and sponge off the government. But God damn it. You die hard conservatives and filthy rich pigs need to stop being such cowards, open your god damn eyes, and finally admit that there is a downside as more and more wealth becomes concentrated.

THERE IS A DOWNSIDE AS YOU GET RICHER AND RICHER!

As one of the 1%, I understand your point perfectly - and I'm laughing at you. I was once poor like you. Now I am not, precisely because I know how and why people make a profit. Now I make profit and I live well. So, suck it.

You can't make me jealous. That's impossible because I am morally opposed to being rich. I'll have nothing to do with it. I don't want to go cold, hungry, or homeless but given the choice between living in a cardboard box and living in a mansion, I'll take that box and love it. You have no idea how strongly I feel about this. You can't intimidate me, you can't embarrass me, you can't make me feel uneducated, unintelligent, or insignificant, and you sure as hell can't make me jealous. You can only make me more determined. So bring on the next lame psychological trick. It won't work.

I'm thinking that all us "rich" people ought to not take a salary or have any earnings for a year.... Then when the crap hits the fan (since us 1%'ers pay the bulk of the taxes) and all the folks who want something for nothing actually get nothing - then we can talk. Sounds like a plan to me....

[-] 1 points by Mcc (542) 13 years ago

Hey coward. When you account for all federal, state, and local taxes, and fees, the rich and the lower majority actually pay about the same rate overall. This is well documented. Also, when the income and wealth becomes concentrated, it reduces income among the lower majority and their ability to pay taxes.

If you want the lower majority to pay a greater share of taxes, then stop concentrating so much wealth. No? Thats what I thought.

The high costs of our health care services have little relation to profits - its actually much more complicated than you believe. Our costs for energy are amongst the lowest in the world and we have one of the most broadly based access to and affordable access to our financial system. A trade on the stock market costs less than 1 hour of minimum wage labor after taxes.

I heard there's a downside as you get richer and richer.

[-] 1 points by Krankie (140) 13 years ago

Whoever wrote this has no wish for the movement to be successful.
First of all, there are MANY people in the top 1% that are very good caring people. I know people that are greedy and ignorant and are NOT in the top 1%. Just because someone has money does NOT make them bad people. Second, your divisive language is playing right into the hands of those that want the movement to fail. To get the numbers that we need to drive real change, we have to reach out to all people, rich and poor, right and left. Calling them names like that makes me wonder if you REALLY want change, or if you are just looking for somewhere to vent your frustration.

[-] 1 points by Mcc (542) 13 years ago

Give me a break already. We (the masses) have been idolizing rich people for decades. It hasn't gotten us anywhere. Not as a society. This movement wasn't born until after the concentration of wealth reached an all time high. Not before. That's because people are beginning to see the truth. There is an upside to economic growth depending on the circumstances. But the concentration of wealth has gone too far. Way too God damn far. When the rich get too rich, the poor get poorer. Period.

If rich people won't acknowledge any of this, then they are nothing but greedy cowardly pigs.

You're very angry. Take a prozac and lie down. Leave the rich alone, it's an ignorant insult to assume that wealth equals greed. By your thinking does poverty equal lazy too?

[-] 1 points by Mcc (542) 13 years ago

Mother Nature designed us to seek food, shelter, and security for ourselves and our families. Those instincts grow when a society becomes more populated and advanced. Greed, that is to seek more than you need to survive is a relative form of evil depending on the circumstances. Harmless in moderation. I wouldn't hold it against anyone if the resources were unlimited and the masses doing fine. But to see so much hardship, bankruptcy, foreclosure, poverty, ect in the developed world and so much more in the third world while the rich become super filthy rich. It just makes me sick. I don't blame the rich for the reckless and irresponsible population growth of the 3rd world. I don't blame them for laziness, welfare fraud, or the irresponsibility of the masses. But to concentrate and hoard so much incredible wealth, most of which they won't spend as long as they live. Even when the downside is so well documented. It just makes me sick.

I know human nature. The effect of extreme wealth on the human brain. Or the opportunity of it. Burns right through moral character. Mother Nature never designed us to process extreme wealth. Like power, it corrupts the mind, heart, and the will of any human being. If you want to keep your soul, don't get rich.

Oh get real you twit, your parents or grandparents and you when you grow the fuck up will have a vested interest in the success of wall stree or the big corporation called the USA. It's called an IRA or a 401K and undrstand that the filthy rich pigs as you call them are not hoarding cake while milllions starve, they have things that are in additon to basic needs like food shelter, clothing. that is all, this riduculous stuff about the rich is becoming tiresome, stop thinking that you have less because the rich have more, start thinking about how you can become rich or at least comfortable and most important stop sounding like a maniac or nobody and I mean nobody will ever give you a job.

[-] 1 points by Mcc (542) 13 years ago

You'll have to do better. One only needs to look out the window, turn on the news, pick up any magazine, or ask a neighbor to disprove your claim that no link exists between the wealth of the rich and the hardship of the masses.

I have Albert Einstein on my side. He went on record with very similar views. Look it up.

[-] 1 points by Space (79) 13 years ago

Dude - the 401k, the defined benefit plan, along with the American retirement dream are all sanctioned ponzi sceems. We are broke, and massive inflation is on the way. We need a new, more sustainable American dream. Invest in a garden and kids with family values, they will feed you when you are too old to work. Peace

Self employed. I have no use for you rich pigs. I won't even work for you. You can't intimidate or embarrass me with these lame psychological tricks. They will never work. Now get out of my face. I have work to do.

im an employer....of 25 people. last month 2 filed unfounded suits against me, 2 others tested positive for drug use, 1 walked of a job, and 1 just didnt show up for work. I spend nearly 40k a year training people who just eventually quit when they get a child support garnishment or DUI. So for all you folks who have never actually used your own money to create a job, or put your earnings at risk to be successful....you'll get no sympathy. I have a college degree, and worked in the corporate world for 17 years. You have no idea how much they pay in taxes. You read headlines only. Bottom line is this sure aint the good ol USA. On that we can agree. What was once the land of the free and home of the brave is now the home of the weak and the land of the free ride. Take a new poll for me and count the number of people at OWS that are receiving some type of government financial support or pay no taxes at all. Oh yea....that would be at least 50% since thats the posted number of full time students who only have an academic understanding of the world they live in. This makes me sick. and yes im the 1%....except during the times we lose money....but you dont count that now do you?

[-] 0 points by Mcc (542) 13 years ago

You're out in force with defense of your incredible greed. It won't work. Not on me. I'll tone it down if and when you one percent club pigs own less than 40 percent of all United States wealth. Much less. When I read absolute confirmation that the richest one percent own no more than 1/3 of all United States wealth, I will tone it down. Not one second sooner. Now, get out of my face. I have work to do.

Bravo, i am not part of the 1 percent but have my own business, there is no work ethic, tried to hire help, 2 of the aplicants started telling me how i should run my business, 4 wanted wayyyy too much money, 2 of them only wanted to work certain hours and 3-4 of the others i spoke with were obviously on drugs, i gave up and dialed my production back to what i can handle on my own, i aspire to make a good living not carry a bunch of dead weight sround and pay for bologna!
