I think it's more then just not settling for a half a loaf of bread - it's more like 18% unemployment among the youth between 18 and 26.
or having 2 bullshit jobs that pay 8 dollars an hour and still living with parents to pay off student loan debt.

I don't think young people will vote Republican, I think a lot of them that voted in 2008 just won't vote at all, like they used to do before 2008.
I doubt it will matter though, Obama should win re-election even if a lot of the young people who voted in 2008 stay home. It is the races in the House and Senate where the Democrats will feel it because most of those young people likely voted Democrat right down the ticket.
