If republican obstruction, overuse of filibuster, and sabotage of all progressive economic solutions continues the economy will fail in a big way. If Dems continue to cave in to right wing policies that benefit the 1%. The economy will fail in a big way. Yes. But the end of the world? Bunker living? Grow our own food? Arm ourselves? Please. I can't succumb to that kind of fear. Stop stockpiling, and get yourself your family, and your friends involved in politics to take back our goct from the 1% criminals who continue to live fat and large after they created the largest world economic crash in 80 years.

I have a feeling it has been the people that take the handouts from the government that are the ones to blame for bringing the house down, not the people who the government has been taking the money from.

[-] 1 points by VQkag2 (16478) 12 years ago

Simply follow the money. That basic truth applies. The people who have bought the govt, who have rigged the system by changing the laws in their favor are the ones who are benefiting now still!. Blaming the victim is so republican/suburban of you. Luckily there are people smart enough to know that you can't resolve our problems by attacking the poor. We don't have to attack the rich either, but certainly the people benefiting most from these crimes are rich. Just not every rich person. many support the 99%! Support OWS! vote out pro Norquist, anti Buffet rule politicians!

The peple who are having their property taken from them by the government are the victims, not the people who are getting money from the government.

This is not Either Or. Failure may not effect many people at all. Or it might effect everyone in a big, big way.

If you have been following the Eurocrisis, then you have heard how many Linkages there are between different Financial Institutions. ANd you have heard that default on one bank can force other banks to sell assets like currency and government bonds. Here I call banks the same thing as Financial Institutions and Vice a Versa.

So banks here are linked to Europe and vice versa. But the next crisis could just be some big bank default which causes other banks to sell off assets.

But maybe you and I just need to be able to buy gas, groceries, and other stuff, pay out bills, collect a pay check, get government services, etc. Could be a lot on TV in a crisis, but we might not have to do anything.

Plus the stock market isn't important in the short term. Most of us don't need the stock market everyday. I guess I think things will be OKAY. I think we will get pay checks and pay bills what ever happens.

Some people will be ok as long as their Cell Phone works. Not to be funny, but some poor people don't have a lot of banking.

Regional Banks like the one in North Dakota, and the Federal Reserve Banks are supposed to help with liquidity in a crisis. Plus we have FDIC or another insurance for our bank account.

Complicated Question...

Here are the typical stages of society as history teaches:

  1. From bondage to spiritual faith

  2. From spiritual faith to great courage

  3. From great courage to liberty

  4. From liberty to abundance

  5. From abundance to selfishness

  6. From selfishness to complacency

  7. From complacency to apathy

  8. From apathy to moral decay

  9. From moral decay to dependence

  10. From dependence to bondage

I used to live far from the cities (actually, I lived about 90 miles from NYC, but the area was very rural). Now I live on the edge of a populated corridor and I wonder how the ribbon of dense population will react. I wish I had more area I could garden... Actually, I wish I was better at gardening.

I thought it already did .

[-] 0 points by secnoot (-14) 12 years ago

So, in your opinion, Europe and America are on the upswing? When do you feel the bottom occurred and the upswing started?

[-] 1 points by cJessgo (729) from Port Jervis, PA 12 years ago

No sorry just the bottom. No upswing unless you are on Wall st.I also do belive that another bottom will occur.I do not know if it will be much deeper.I can assure you there will be another. There always is.

Yes, I have tried to make some preparations for trouble. I also live in a hurricane area so I feel that although I am preparing for somewhat long term trouble, in the short term it could help me or others in a hurricane problem.

Better to be optimistic, always, and thus support a new constitution, as follows:

We the peoples, in order to secure Freedom and Justice for All, do enact this Constitution for Strategic International Systems LLC (or SIS LLC) as summarized in the following Business Operations Forecast:

The customer value mission of SIS LLC is (1) to organize all customer-investors into 3,000 investment squad sites of 16 friends (or virtual specialties), and related internet investment legislatures of 50,000 friends (or virtual towns), requiring (2) a $20 weekly capital contribution for 1 year (or $1,000) to (3) create your investment club bank of 50,000 friends (or physical town) -- that is, having $50 million in initial assets -- which (4) due to the operation of today’s fractional banking system becomes (5) $500 million in new annual business loans (or $10,000 in new annual individual loans) from yourself as a new bank officer to yourself as a new business officer who (6) takes 75% employee business control as business officer-investors and 25% customer business control as bank officer-investors of (7) your specific 12 businesses (or investments) in your new bank investment account wherein (8) your investor voting power equals (9) your 1 of 12 levels of experience in (10) your 1 of 12 sectors in 1 of 50 industries in 1 of 200 occupations in 1 of 3,000 specialities which (11) votes-upon your purchasing (or investment) orders as (12) proposed by your employee-elected chain of command.

This means you will have 75% employee business control over your workplace as business officers and, as bank officers, 25% customer business control over all 12 investments (or businesses) in your new bank investment account. In turn, with this 100% town-level business control of your 3,000 workplaces, you can decrease your 12 customer consumption expenses by 75% for services, vehicles, education, retail, food, construction, technology, manufacturing, wholesale, health, justice, and banking expenses; that is, over your first 12 years of SIS LLC membership using a 75% more effective and efficient town design, and related 3,000 workplace designs (herein). Furthermore, while creating your new town & workplace design as described by this constitution, you will replace today’s communist big businesses, and related big governments, with your new small investment club banks, and related small businesses (or investments), as proposed, financed, and patronized by your 3,000 investment squad sites of 16 friends (or virtual specialties) in your internet investment legislature of 50,000 friends (or virtual town).

Why? First, because today’s executive business income (mostly from bank or financial asset income) is 33% of all income which is a huge amount of upper 1% income to split among yourselves as new bank officers having 25% customer business control, right? Second, because today’s executive business wealth is 42% of all wealth which is a huge amount of upper 1% wealth to split among yourselves as new business officers having 75% employee business control; that is, only after becoming new bank officers (above) first, right?

For example, this means if you earn $12/hour today, then you will earn $36/hour tomorrow after adding (1) your old wage income, plus (2) your 33% (more and new) interest income as a new bank officer, plus (3) your 42% (more and new) dividend & gain income as a new business officer. Together, these 4 sources of wealth & income from your specific 12 businesses (or investments) will double your net worth every 6-12 years (until retirement); that is, from the compound interest decline of today's upper 1% executives whom you will replace as the new bank & business investor-officers. So, with this power, let’s end today’s communist big businesses, and related big governments, okay? How? By helping to operate your own Business Operations Forecast (above) at http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/StrategicInternationalSystems/ ; so help us help you, today!

You seem inordinately concerned with money.

[-] 2 points by atki4564 (1259) from Lake Placid, FL 12 years ago

Actually, the opposite is true, I hate money and love people, but before you can empower the people to hate money and love people you must teach the people how to control that which enslaves them: money. Consequently, you cannot destroy a thing like "the love of money" until you control that thing; that is, as a bank & business investor-officer. Does a cop control a criminal, like today's big banks and big businesses, before cornering, cuffing, chaining and caging their asses using exactly the same enslaving techniques that they do? No, the cop mirrors the actions of the criminal, step-by-step, out of love for the people, and out of a desire to establishment their empowerment as bank and business investor-officers themselves.

it is all those people with guns that seems the most worrying and what happens to the 45 million people when they no longer get food stamps? how will they react on an empty stomach ?

[-] 2 points by RememberIlluminatti (7) 12 years ago

And how will WE all react when there is simply no food and water? Words to the wise are always sufficient: Own land, grow your own food and get ready in every way you can anticipate. We are already a failed nation-state in a much bigger, failed economy. And it won't change until all the U.S. jobs come home to tip the scales of production in the other direction. Please see my comments elsewhere on this site with practical, real world solutions on what you can individually do to change the course of history here. The government and their Illuminati puppet-string holders are just propping this economy up to bleed out the pennies from it because those pennies add up to dollars, after all. Bankers know these things. That's how they build really big buildings. If you are not familiar with the Illuminati, please do your research. And know that this country was hijacked years ago by foreign banks and foreign powers who don't give a damn if we turn into a third-world nation of the starving and helpless. I used to think that the end of the world would look like the movie, "The Day After" circa 1981 Reagan era/Nuclear Race insanity. The threat is now bigger than ever but I have spent the last 30 years researching this, and do believe the economy will be our end as it is much more pervasive and encompassing; and equally as deadly. In both cases, the puppeteers know exactly what they are doing. There is no written rule anywhere that says that we must all eat. Americans have taken that status for granted because we started out as an agriculturally-based society. And so did Africa. Time shows what a lack of preparation and knowledge can do to nations sitting on fertile soil. Make very certain you have secured every thing concerning your personal security as well as possible. There are millions of dollars spent on government studies concerning these scenarios because the best minds are convinced that it will happen.

Good Post

You make a very good case against the government being in the business of distributing food.
