I've mentioned the general strike to quite a number of workers over the past several days and have not received a positive response yet.

Most have not heard of a general strike and all, to the individual, have refused to strike, unless someone else is "going to pay" their bills. Unfortunately they don't see the self-benefit from forcing the government and the bourgeousie to negotiate.

The propaganda machines do their job well.

Short answer is no. For a number of reasons. First, the masses don’t know about it. Mainstream media has only published a couple of stories about it, and they weren’t front page. Secondly, the general public that do know about it don’t know what it’s about. They don’t understand the objective. New York, and maybe one or two other cities may be the exception.

However, it still should happen. This movement has and will have stops and starts, kind of jerking forward rather than a smooth ride. Changing hearts and minds takes time and effort. The key word is persistence.
